The 1000 series is one of the best subwoofer options at the price. Can't wait to demo them.
So glad they added app support to these. It makes setup much easier!
SVS did it again, I ended up buying dual PB1000 pro's 👍
sweet, do they go hard?
@@foamyone101 Yes they do hit hard and sounds very good.
Dark was an amazing show everyone should watch
We agree! Thanks for watching.
So awesome
This subwoofer is just perfect for me! I'm returning my pair of PB-1000s to pick up a pair of these. Dual ports, 12" woofer with logo, increased power, NO Front LED!!, App controlled w/DSP, and SoundPath Adapter connection.
Interesting how at the beginning of the video (~1:00 mark) there's a discussion about "the myth" of sealed vs ported, and then at the end (~8:00), the recommendation is for a sealed sub for music and a ported sub for movies. LOL. No judgment, just noting an observation.
I mean, the physics are pretty straightforward. A sealed enclosure allows for no port turbulence noise, no mechanical noise from the inside of the cabinet to escape through the port, and the sealed volume of air acts as a fluid spring for the driver which can help with transient response.
With a ported enclosure, your sub is less ideal/perfect, but with a high Qms/Qts in the driver, and a well-designed port, the weaknesses of a ported enclosure become less obvious. You also gain deeper extension without loss of output down to the tuning frequency.
The truth is that sealed subwoofers are always ideal over ported, if you have an infinite budget. I doubt that anyone would want for bass output with 8, 24-in sealed subs in their theater. For most of us mortals though, ported is the way to go for home theater to get that super deep tactile bass on a reasonable budget
@@lukeselker5175, thanks! 100% agree (and knew)...my only point was that - maybe to me only - the comments at 1 minute and at 8 minutes *seem* to contradict.
I like that you added a reference show to check out. "Dark" is great. PB sub all the way!
@Mario Vicente Blah blah
It would be nice if some one did a review with the pb 1000 with the port plugs inserted in playing music, so we would have some idea how well that works. Thank you for the review.
My thoughts exactly.
Well, objectively speaking, if you are looking for a straightforward answer, then in my personal experience with our PB1000 Pro is that the default-10 is a great starting point for getting good bass after having done the Automated Calibration first.
Our AVR-X2700 set -7db sub trim after the Calibration and then I dialed back in the SVS app from-15 for Calibration purposes to now using the default-10.
Balanced and authoritative when it needs to be. Sometimes, depending upon content, I'd push it completely and set -4 or -5 to really get room shaking output.
Acoustically treated theater room having dimensions of 16x12x9 feet.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for your comments and watching!

Very exciting things happening by SVS!
Just ordered the PB-1000 pro. I always wanted to own an SVS sub. Gonna sell my Klipsch R120SW after I break it in😁😁
I still haven't seen a comparison between the SVS PB 1000 and the new PB 1000 Pro anywhere on the web. So odd that there isn't a comparison between the new and old. They're still selling the PB 1000 and it's about half price of the 1000 Pro, so it really is a question of, is it worth the extra money for the 2" extra and app interface?!
Great review but I think you should have skipped the part of explaining what is a seal and what is a ported subwoofer and include the specs of both
Have dual PB 1000s (non pro) in my bedroom and couldn't be happier. Saving for dual 16s for living room and feel like a little kid waiting for Santa at the tender age of 54 😆 Wish they had speaker inputs and outputs so that I could also use them (16 Ultra) with my old receiver that I use strictly for music in the same room and would love to use them with that as well as my modern system.
Mike. Thanks for your comments. If your vintage receiver has preamp out and amp in (a lot of old ones had jumpers there) you could use many of the SVS subs that way. Thanks for watching
I'm glad that you can buy both the SB and the PB pro for your AVR.
Yes! Thanks for watching
Just bought two of the ported models! Can’t wait!
Enjoy!
If I hadnt already bought the PB3000 6 months ago I would be getting dual 1000 pros
Don't worry about it. We own a PB1000 Pro for our newly built acoustically treated dedicated theater having dimensions of 16x12x9 feet. It rocks at default-10 and blows away all of us at times at seriously loud-4 to -5 in the app. This is when I am watching movies at close to reference like -5 or even reference volume 0db.
The basis of my decision was after having experienced the dual PB3000s installed in a theater room of dimensions 28x18x8 feet and fell for it's power and output, girth aside, it's almost brutal!
BEASTS!
Thanks for the short review. If you can, would you provide some REW in-room measurements for both Subs to see how much lower the PB version actually goes?
Love the gloss black 🤤
Interesting. For me it was the opposite. I like the SB version more, but hope they will make a non-shiny version. I don't need any reflective surfaces in my Home Theater...
@@rolandrohde That's a great point. The good news is both the sealed and ported have options in that black ash finish 👍 www.audioadvice.com/svs-sb-1000-pro-subwoofer+color-Black~Ash
You should compare with the outgoing 1000
Is a sealed sub (or duals) ever recommended for a large space, for example, a living room in an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings? I'd estimate around 5000 or 6000 cubic feet total. I've heard they tend to have tighter bass than ported. I mostly watch movies with occasionally music listening.
You should go with ported subs basing on your criteria. With your space dimensions you should at minimum buy PB3000 preferably 2 of them.
Just received mine. A LITTLE disappointed that I get a rattle/mechanical noise when playing a 20hz test tone at 70 out of 80 on my Marantz SR5010 after Audyssey XT calibration (only distance and level for subs). So I just ordered a second one to help reduce that.
2 is best
@@Slyder695 I have 4 now lol
Haha super 4some man! Lol can't wait to get me 2 as I have a pair of the older pb 2000 in living room which are great. I'm totally upgrading in basement from a 12 year old 65" samsung to an 83" LG C2, same with yummy avr to a denon x2800 with a Panasonic ub820. Keeping all the polk speakers LCR and 2 surrounds and adding 2 heights. Seating is against rear wall so no sense adding more, but it will thump with immersion!
My room is on 1200 cubic feet then. Main speakers are the xtz cinema m8 then. Are a sealed sub better then a ported in that room space.?.
Please reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com for the best advice on your system, but based on the design of your speakers, sealed is probably better as it will be faster. Thanks for watching!
I have a room size of approx 1,700 cubic feet (4x4x3meters). what should be more suitable Sb-1000 pro or sb2000 pro?
SB2000, thanks for watching
Nice video. I keep going back and forth between ported and sealed. And 1000pro or 2000pro.
Too many decisions lmao.
I want quick, tight bass that rolls off fast and still sounds (and feels) good at low volumes.
What would you recommend? Size of the sub is not an issue but price is.
Please reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com for the best advice. Thanks for watching
If I want to utilize a setup with 2 subs in a large room (580 Sq. Feet); is it better to take 2 ported subs or would it be better/smarter to take 1 ported and 1 sealed so I have the best of both world and maybe they can supplement eachother?
Great question, please reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com to discuss your room in more detail. Thanks for watching
Good Video ! Thank you !! Keep going :) About the App: What, if you have a pair of this Subwoofer ? Can you setup each as separate in the app or maybe as array ? Or even better as "Push Pull" ? Nobody answered this. Maybe you can :) Thank you !!
Hello,
Love from India.
I am really interested to buy Svs subwoofer very soon for my 220sqft dedicated theatre room, but little confused about what to buy.
please guide me what model actually do better perform in my 220sqft dedicated theatre room.
Music & movie is my primary options, not so interested for games.
Also how can I purchase from Audio Advice from India.
May I go for Dual sub? Also please guide me , what should I go with,
Sealed or Ported..
Please reply...
Sorry, we can not sell into India. Ported will give you more impact, sealed will be faster, dual sealed is a great idea. Thanks for watching
The kid falling is nothing, you need to crank it more to get that effect, watch quite place 2.
I'm running a pair of the pb 2000 (not the pros) upstairs, i just ordered a pair of the pb 1000 pro for basement.
Thanks for sharing!
did the prices of these shoot up? i'm seeing the pb 1000 pro at $800 everywhere
Yes, SVS had a price increase since we did this overview.
hi - what would you recommend for a small room with Qacoustics concept 20.
Room = 4m x 3,5m = 13ft x 11,5ft.
Qacoustics concept 20 driver = 12,5 cm = 5 inches. (64 Hz +/- ? db).
Music only (Denon dm39, 2 x 30W).
It's my first subwoofer. My budget 600€.
SVS SB1000 pro (599€) vs Rel Tzero mk2 (575€) vs B&W ASW608 (499€)
for a tight, quick and articulate bass.
thanks.

I’m looking at a new SVS 1000, or 2000, to go with my M&K MX 150. Would you recommend a sealed or ported sub?
I would NEVER mix sealed and ported subs. I tried that with one of my movie rooms, and it was disastrous. I had an SB-2000 and a PB-2000, AND I ended up removing one of them, as it was noticeably louder than having both. SVS talks about this online. Check it out.
Go with ported subs, it'll go deeper and louder. But if your space is limited buy sealed subs , they are smaller. The sealed subs sounds good too.
If it's as good as the 2000 pro then I'm likely gonna turn my dual 2000 pro in for 3 1000 pro
My closed room is just under 1500 cubic feet. It is 20 feet long by 9 feet wide by 8 feet tall. Would the SB1000 Pro be suitable? I am worried that the bass waves are a lot longer than my room and would stay in the room and cause distortion (standing waves?). Should I go for a much smaller sub? Thank you for your advice.
The SB1000 will be fine. Two would be better, as your room size will cause some standing wave issues. Feel free to pop into chat at www.audioadvice.com to discuss your room and system in more detail. Thanks for watching!
@@AudioAdvice Thank you very much for your advice. Would two subs cancel the standing waves? I am confused! Would I have to put one of the subs out of phase? Thank you.
@@photomusicman9413 Two of the SB1000 would work well. You could place them asymmetrically on the front wall or one in the front and one in the back, they would not need to be out of phase
@@AudioAdvice Thank you.
Can you indicate what is a small or big room?
Small in our world is anything under 12 by 15. Thanks for watching
Where is the FUSE on the back ? SVS not good
dang they really raised their prices
Yes, it seems like all audio gear has had this happen. Thanks for watching
How does this compare to the older pb-2000? :)
USB ports, firmware updates, connect functions from your smartphone and more from what I've read.
Hi, I have new flagship Denon AVC110 Great. Setup using a mic. After watching many youtube post now decided to set up a manual. Great. My question is my 2ch music has SVS 1000 Pro and B&W CDM9 I have set Sub + Mains and Front speaker to large with cross-over set at 80Hz. I have set my films to all speakers small and the subwoofer only cross-over 80Hz. my side speakers are CDM1 B&W and all my speakers are wired 5.1 Bi-amp. Any tips or advice I could consider trying out would be great full.
We have a lot of great content on our home theater central section of our site that include many articles on set up tips. Usually 80 Hz works best but we suggest you pay special attention to the subwoofer set up guides in the section.

Great 👍🏻
Your opinion on Q Accoustics B12 SW
Sorry we are not a Q Acoustic dealer and have never heard it. Thanks for watching
Hi
how do I connect svs1000 pro to nail nait 5si amplifier
You would need to run a second pair of speaker cables into the speaker inputs on the back and use the built in crossover on the sub Thanks for watching
How do you define a small room vs a large room? My home theater space is roughly 12' x 8,' but within a larger open space of around 16'x 20'. I'm thinking a single sealed sub would be adequate?
Please reach out to our team at www.audio advice.com for their thoughts. 16 by 20 is getting towards the large size. They can ask more questions about your system. Thanks for watching
What is the Driver of these subs made of?
According to SVS it is a proprietary treated fiber composite.
@@AudioAdvice Thanks
$599? Where?
Unfortunately this video was done over a year ago and prices have gone up. We have since stopped putting prices in our videos and link to the product page so you can get up to date pricing. Thanks for watching
Why is the MSRP $200 more now :(
Everything seems to be going up in price. Shipping costs are out of hand. Thanks for watching
Sealed - music
Ported - movies
That is a good general starting point. Thanks for watching
