Alex (from the email) if you're reading this, go with a smaller 1.2 hatchback for a couple of years until you build up some no claims bonus. As someone who bought my first car 2 years ago at 20 I can tell you its the difference between a £300 insurance bill and a £1300 one. Personally I went with a clio 3 with the 1.2 tce engine. An aftermarket dump valve on the turbo and some good tires and its endless fun changing gear and taking corners

Pro tip for getting rid of any smell in any closed space (especially in fridges left turned off for too long etc) is an open container of ground coffee. It soaks in the bad smell and replaces it with nice coffee aroma, and once the coffee smell is gone, so is the smell you wanted to get rid of

There might be _another_ option as well.
      Burning incense.
As long as it's kept from physically touching the interior components, it should seep into the pores of the fabric.

Honestly this is a "problem" that i have too. Since the day that i have got mounted my exhaust i get 2 types of people who overtake me while i'm just casually driving minding my buisiness:
    1. The "broooo u got tha exhaust with the big boy tip, do a pull"
    2. And the guys with 1.6 TDi golf (or any "normal" car) that look at their girlfriend and be like "honey look, i'm gonna smoke the moded car"
First of all... my car has no MPG what so ever so if i'm going to race someone it is definatelly not going to be your 1.3 mutijet punto
And second of all GETTING RIGHT ON MY ASS WONT MAKE ME DO A PULL JUST CAUSE YOU WANT TO HEAR THE EXHAUST.

And when they are doing 40 in a 60, when you try and (safely) overtake them on a long straight section, suddenly they find their throttle and accelerate, keeping alongside you as well so you either have to risk your own life, or back away, and often, theres another car where you were before, so you have to accelerate hard, often to avoid now oncoming traffic. Idiots who do that should be banned. Be fucking consistent or dont be at all.

@@FireHawkGaming Happens all the time where I live in Australia, it's almost as if they're unaware of their speed until they notice you going to overtake and then they think "Oh I could be going 20 km/h faster" so they speed up and dick you over. It's why when I overtake I pretty much don't lift off full throttle until I'm past them, usually that more than does the trick.
The other pain where I live is due to the fact that a lot of our main highways in my part of Aus are single lane each way with overtaking lanes opening up every so often, so you either be patient and wait for the overtaking zone or you overtake into oncoming traffic. The real pain of this is the sheer number of fuckwits that will meander along at a fluctuating speed between 90-100 km/h (most of our highways are 110 km/h zones) until they get to the overtaking zone, at which point they find their balls and speed up to 120 km/h but only until the zone ends where they'll drop back to their former annoying pace.
It's almost as if the road getting wider for the overtaking lane messes with their perspective on what speed they're doing so they naturally go faster on the wider stretches, either that or they're just assholes.

For a grind my gears topic: people gatekeeping on what constitutes a "real car", a "real drift", or a "real burnout" (amongst many more). Seen a lot of comments of videos recently of people putting others down. There is a vid doing the rounds of a guy drifting his e87 116i in the snow, and all the comments are like "huh, yeah but its not a real drift because the surface is slippy" and some people saying shit like "lol barely even a drift car MY CAR has an aftermarket LSD with cobra exhaust, Eibach coilovers, and a 19psi turbo that i fitted myself using only basic tools, come talk to be about drifting when you build a real car". Like fucking hell let the dude enjoy himself just because he hasn't sunk his life savings into a car doesn't make his car bad, and just because his car isn't a professional formula drift car doesnt mean he isn't drifting it.

As a bit of a left-field suggestion for young Alex looking for a first car, I submit the Nissan Note N-Tec+ from around 2012. It’s not an estate, and it’s far from cool, but the mini MPV/hatchback has plenty of room for five people and a decent boot, plus you get metallic paint, two colour alloys and tinted rear windows, which are ingredients are a cool car might have! They’re common and the main demographic seems to be older drivers, so it should insure cheaply enough. There’s plenty of engine options and other features, so I’d have to assume it won’t be too hard to work on or get parts for... Lots of scope for upgrades too!
Failing that, fall back on CT Alex’s default suggestion - get a Celica ;)

It is actually mostly riders that try to overtake on busy London roads in very dangerous ways , they swerve in and out behind me and try overtaking when there is clearly no room. Happened to me just hours ago on my way home with some prick on a typhoon ped but because he couldn't get in front of me because there was no damm space, he decided it would be a great idea to roll up on my drivers side at the next set of lights to shout abuse at me BUT also tell me he's gonna smash my mirror . I simply laughed at him and said in a very calm way 'TRY IT MATE' before he could reply the lights turned green so I took off, I watched him speeding up behind me and i knew he was close in order to smash my mirror so I pulled ever so slightly to the left so he missed.
Here is where I can now laugh about it as he nearly rear ended a car at the next set of lights which I could see pissed him off . This is where he decided to jump of his hairdryer and march towards me with his fists in the air , funny thing is I had decided to jump out my car and confront him. He quickly shit his pants as I charged towards him with my voice now raised and he couldn't apologise fast enough but as he jumped bk on his bike he started telling me how lucky I was he didn't stab me and i should follow him to a specific place which I did. What this fool didn't realise was the area he thought he led me where his supposed mates were is an area I grew up in east London and not only did his friends know me I knew there brothers, mum's,dads ECT. Turns out the idiot had only moved into that area for a few weeks so I lets just say he ended up having a very bad end to his day.

In regards to the overtaking thing, I live in Australia so its not really a thing in and around Sydney.
I have done a number of longer trips to Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, etc where some of the roads are single lane either way with a dirt/gravel shoulder. During those trips, overtaking is normal and half expected by anyone doing less than the speed limit; trucks, caravans and people with trailers (I usually was one of those).
Maybe people should all come to Australia and experience the sheer terror and excitement of overtaking a small road-train (filled with hay and dropping crap everywhere) in a van towing its max capacity...that was one of the biggest adrenaline rushes I have ever experienced while driving

Yeah I used to have an R33 4dr GTS25T in manual, which I put a massive 3" stainless turbo back exhaust on. Literally everywhere I would go, 9/10 heads would just be staring endlessly, and had many occasions of random people yelling at me to do a burnout while waiting at intersections. Being one of the most commonly stolen cars in my country at the time, I really wasn't a fan of all the attention and swapped it for something less conspicuous but just as much fun.
I still miss the fuck out of that car, and really gutted I got rid of it right before the massive appreciation curve those cars have enjoyed, while the car I swapped for is still on the depreciation curve, but I honestly think that skyline would have been stolen from me long ago if I held on to it.

An ozone generator is like $80 or so on Amazon, and will completely remove any odors from the car, just run it for an hour or so and see if that works, otherwise 2 or 3 hours with all the windows up, can't be in the car when it's running unless you want to suffocate, but then run the car with the air on and windows open and get rid of the ozone and it should completely remove any odors no matter how strong, even works on years of cigarette smoke in the interior

May i just add that it's not all old people driving well below the 60mph limit - or doing the same 40mph in a 30 limit. As an example, i'm 60 and ALWAYS drive at the top-end of any limit. I also overtake whenever appropriate/sensible to do so. I blame much of the slow driving that is now common place on people fiddling with gadgets and not paying attention to the road ahead. Many of these drivers are in their 20's or 30's, but not all by any means.
