We live in the age of complainers. Quite literally. Especially when people really want a product, but cannot afford it. PC gamers upgrade their graphics card to play the same games, but at higher framerates, all the time, and that is normal. But when a PS5 gamer wants to upgrade to a Pro to do the same, it's all "But there are not Pro exclusive games! You'll be playing the same games! Why would you buy that? Don't do it!" So stupid, sad, pathetic and laughable. Well, my Pro is on preorder.
There is nothing wrong with wanting a better console, the biggest issue which seems that many people like you cant understand is the freaking accepting these pricings. Consoles are meant to be cheap good alternative for gaming, but people like you defending this corporate greed will make it above 1000 dollars on ps6, The same problem is on the pc side where braindead Nvidia fanboys defending the stupid gpu prices.
here is the comment I was waiting for, a lot of people think that the people who criticize the PS5 pro are jealous of them, they just want to preserve the disk drive especially at this price and just stop this kind of stupid price for a PS5 1.5 j I'm afraid for the future of PlayStation, not jealous of what you do with your money
@@Whreck11Whoever said that consoles should be cheap? Also, whoever said $599 was reasonable too 😄? Either way it's expensive, whether it's $599 or $699. Another thing, consumers can't expect to pay less for a machine that's powerful. If you want the best in anything you have to spend lol. Like he politely stated in the video, you don't have to buy it. If you choose not to buy it that's your business as it is if I choose to buy it for myself
@@gianniphipps180 Consoles are cheaper alternative,if you really thirst for that power performance obviously Pc is way more powerfull in every way,if you say that you must desperately give more money to Sony thats ur choice bro, no one cares how much you spend or how.you spend it,read what i wrote better, its just that majority of people accepting this pricing are the reason of Sony gouging prices this much and they will eventually increase even more😂 Its just a mid gen refresh console with 7600 xt or 4060ti compared gpu on it,not even close to a 4070,with the same cpu from ps5 base model which is slightly overclocked, which upscales to 4k,stop prettending like its a beast of a machine, there is nothing groundbreaking with it.
What I never understood are the people who already have a PS5 and are content with that but still want to complain about the PS5 Pro like there’s a gun to there head telling them to buy it
Exactly. It’s not a new thing that a company would have tiers of products. iPad Air. iPad Pro. Etc. same here. Ps5. Ps5 pro. Just buy what you want guys. Nothing wrong if you don’t want the pro, but don’t complain til you’re blue in the face
You get a cpu boost from 3.5-3.8, ram from 440gbs-560gbs, 2tb from 825gb. WiFi 7 from WiFi 6. GPU 10TF to 33TF for 200$ over the normal PS5. 700$ isn’t a bad price for what you get.
@@carbonm2 yeah dw about some only Pc gamers who crap on console alot of them that do are still in there teens and/or - are not fully mature, there are also lot of PC gamers(myself) who have both consoles and Gaming PCs and understand both of them and most do not compare the two as we know they have different use case 👍
I pre-ordered as well. For my specific situation it makes sense: I want to upgrade my daughter to PS5 from PS4 and if I am already buying a new PS5 to accomplish this, make it the shiny new one that improves my games for an extra $200 +tax. I don't love the price. The lack of disc drive is very stupid but I generally just support consumers having options and having an upper tier option shouldn't be taking so much skin off people's noses; this product only effects you if you buy it.
@@stephensearles673 Yes sir! It's like getting the PS5 for the first time again. Enjoy sir! Oh and enjoy your weekend too. A little positivity in the air.
After I saw the price I went online to price out parts to build a machine and this is what sold me. It's almost impossible to get something similar at the same price. This makes the price debate irrelevant.
i still think its the better value for gaming but lets not forget that a pc can be used for basically everything and anything . a console is only for gaming . people who need both a pc for work and play its still better to go for pc
@@abz7800maybe i just don’t know better but to use a computer for anything I would do is useless. I don’t want to walk over to desktop when I have a phone and I like to lay down in bed when I spank it
Console should be able to achieve comparable results in gaming with "slower" hardware as it is supposed to be more optimized (together with the games) to run that single task. You can't compare it with a general purpose machine like the PC.
I get that a PC is general purpose, but you can buy a general-purpose laptop for less than 300 dollars. People spend the money to be able to use applications that push the hardware and, in my personal situation, it's games. My 3 year old laptop handles all my business and school applications and plays my steam library as it is, but I can not upgrade it to play things like Black Myth, so instead of investing in a gaming PC I decided to go with the Pro.
@@Cj3asy for most people thats better but like i said depending on your job a pc will be better . if your a high end video editor its best you get a pc and play games on the side with it
What a lot of people don't mention is the ability to sell your current console too. I have a ps5 and I'm selling it to a friend for $300. I got it on release. With the disc drive the pro will cost me less than $500. As I've had my ps5 for 4 yrs, it's cost me $125 per year and I expect it to be the same for the pro. Less than $500 for top of the line graphics, an extra tb, and wifi 7 with a disc drive (which I can play pre owned games with) sounds like an incredible deal to me. I'm excited for November 7th for sure
I preordered the 30th Anniversary Pro Bundle on September 26th. Everyone else will eventually figure out this is going to be a nice gaming machine. I'll sell my OG base PS5 and swap in my 2TB expansion drive for a total of 4GB of Pro Storage. I also have a 5800x3D/ 7900 XTX Nitro PC and a Switch OLED.
The main thing I never understand is this entire PC v console debate. Yes they both play games but they are completely different things. I also see a lot of people building PC's to a lower or same price but everybody misses the fundamental basics. For a start do you even have room for a PC in the first place? A console fits in your living room or bedroom easily. You will need a desk,a chair and a monitor. So you need to think about those basics before even thinking about the PC itself. I also work on a PC all day. The last thing I want to do when I come home is sit in front of another PC.
Exactly I don't get why people compare them The consoles are not only for couch play it's portable( unlike a gaming rig) and you can take anywhere it from your friends house to you hotel room, etc and is plug and play. they are completely different people who compare them still in 2024 (almost 2025) actually get on my nerves like let people enjoy whatever tf they want. it's not like I judge people's spending choices for paying the same or more than a console for the GPU alone I just prefer gaming on a console and doing computer work and casual gaming on my pc (not like mine could run newer AAA games at 60fps lol). let's just all be happy guys and not compare 🙏😀
People complaining about £700 for new tech, bigger gpu, ai machine learning 2tb ssd and yet no mention of the series x with 2 tb ssd at £550. People love to complain.
It’s 550 it’s 2 TB. It’s limited edition. Is that simple it’s limited edition. If you don’t try to make some really unique accusations, let’s put the PS five pro addition into the equation now let’s put the PS five pro limited edition into the equation.😅 see what I did there limited edition just cost more in general! Stop trying to make people feel good about spending a lot of money on something that could be buying a computer on a computer that could help you do everything and play all of these games and play them better and play PS five games with the same controller with better graphics and will live longer than a PS five you won’t have to upgrade your PC for a long time if you get a prebuilt with a 4070 but if you buy his PS five pro chances are you will be buying the PS six some of your hopeless fans bois and it’s just terribly sad. Right now 3060 180 frames is the PS5 doing that at 2K resolution¿ how often is the PS five even hitting 120¿
series x 1tb is 449, 1tb seagate storage is around 140 to 198 depending on where you're getting it from. so 449 plus 150 equals around that price. the ps5 pro is 700, no disc, no stand and plus the subscription will total to around 900 a year. at that pont you're better off getting a pc.
A lot of people forget that their own time is valuable. i am certainly not spending 2-3 hours building a PC and forgetting that in the price. If YOU think you don't need to calculate the cost of your labor, I will send you the parts, YOU build me a PC for free, and make sure it is all properly cable managed. Also glad you said what you did about the disc drive
I got the PRO and can’t wait for it. My main disappointment is the lack of the disc drive, but other than that don’t have a larger issue with the pricing since it’s coming with an additional TB of space, plus with all the upgrades. But this pro will hit 120hz that my 86” LG can take. Then VRR is supported on both. It’s gonna be a sublime experience. Even the PS5 is just so freaking amazing, but there are SP games I’ve put on hold and will just be stunning in PRO
The people who are saying just build a PC are XBOX players mad cause Sony is whipping they ass again this generation. It’s not even a competition anymore between the 2. It’s simply a massacre!!!
@@georgetrevino1294 it's not the question of affording it, but rather of accepting constant price increases and normalizing it. If you don't voice your disagreement now (and show it by not preordering), PS6 will cost $1000, PS6 Pro $1200 etc. That's a long way up from $399 that Sony asked for digital PS5 at release.
@@milhad.salihiyou do realize the ps5 adjusted for inflation is more than $600. And THIS console is far more powerful. Yeah. Prices increase over time. Get used to it
This is 2 TB, so 1.25 TB more, just that upgrade costs more than 100 usd. The GPU is being upgraded, would you agree that probably is 100 usd more? A PC owner would have the option to upgrade the GPU for more than that and nobody is calling nvidia for that. This is optional and I really think it has a market, not a big deal.

The ps4 pro was 1TB... they nerfed the ps5 from the get go.
Yeah, more preorders went live today and I decided to pick one up. I did the same math you made, and even did it comparing what the PS5 base costs now and what those extras on the PS5 Pro would come out to. I didn’t feel it was ripoff at all.
Good comparison with the PC build cost. Plus, that was the absolute cheapest. In reality, I’d be personally choosing better parts around the CPU/GPU and I’d have at least 4 extra case fans. Then by the time I’d add on at least £60 for at least a controller, more for a good keyboard/set, I’d be easily over a grand. The reality when building a gaming PC for any target level, you will inevitably be building the best you can so you have some kind of future proofing. As the CPU will usually be superseded in about a year or so and the GPU in maybe a few years. Consoles don’t have that issue so much, due to the longer replacement cycle and the more focused software to hardware optimisation. My last “basic” gaming PC build had an RTX4070, which at the time cost a little more than the PS5 Pro, with the system coming in at £1700 (minus input control). I say “basic”, as a 4070 in my opinion, is the entry level to where you are definitely gaining obvious advantages against the best console, which is now the PS5 Pro. Also, anyone into serious simulators or serious gaming, will be targeting a 4090 and the associated costs building around one. At which level there is simply no comparison with any console, as the PC will eat it. However, you are easily going north of 5x the cost of the PS5 Pro at that point. As a value proposition, the PS5 Pro is still great value financially. It’s just a pity that it’s PC gamers who see that value ahead of console gamers. Plus the other great point you raised, is the 2TB storage. Add a high end 1TB Gen 4 and heatsink into a standard PS5 (digital) and suddenly the price difference isn’t so huge to go to the PS5 Pro. Great video and very well balanced 👍 Cheers, Dave.
Pre-ordered mine. Doesn't need a stand. The slim doesn't come with a stand either as the new one is more aesthetic than function. The pro is a good deal for me, especially after selling my old PS5. Also got it on buy now and pay in 12 months interest free. Proper deal 👍🏾
Literally traded in my series x and switch when gs had that trade in deal, just under $600 total off the price of the 5 pro (neither of which I really use and, technically my PC can serve as my "xbox" with game pass). Got the rest covered when I trade in my base ps5 on launch day and getting out without paying a dime (minus gas to get to gs, LOL). Also, solid vid David. Just in the comments for the peasantry.
The majority of people negatively commenting about this console will end up buying one within a couple of years when they realise they’ve been left behind !!
I speak for all PS4 Pro players who are upgrading to the PS5 Pro. You're Base PS5's will be holding our PS5 Pro's back. Upgrade or be left behind. xD Same thing ya'll were telling us for 4 years. Annoying right? : )
@@wben7833 Its okay tho, you will only have the downgraded version of new games. As a former PS4 Pro owner, Nothing wrong with that : P We tend to be a nicer community : )
What a great balanced take. A few additional points I’d add. 1) Sony have some of the greatest exclusives which you get access to immediately upon release. Undoubtedly future first party games will take full advantage of the pro. 2) PSSR will only get better. You buy a console and it improves over time. It’s already looking great according to the reputable you tubers. The potential is exciting as AI upscalers are becoming as important as hardware. 3) It’s not for everyone and that’s ok. That’s what the PS5 is for and that cost to benefit ratio has improved with the arrival of the pro due to base price reductions. 4) Experimenting with new technology can only bring more competition and benefit everyone in the end. The ps6. Xbox series two will only benefit from seeing what the pro can be.
I just feel as a console gamer, it's frustrating they keep doing these mid gen releases. I think a system like this works be better received if it came out as a more expensive system along with the base model. I know, the Series S. The issue, though, is the Series S made it harder to develop for due to the parity clause.
So the idea is that Intel should still sell Pentium 1 processors at the original price and Core i5 should be like $20k since it's several generations of improvement? Technology becomes more common, gets old, gets cheaper. You can actually buy 2TB SSD for the SAME PRICE of 865GB 4 years ago. Sony bumping the prices up is unjustified, considering they increased prices of everything else, including controllers, games, PSN subscriptions...
@milhad.salihi I'm not super familiar with the dynamics of hardware price fluctuations but from what I understand the phenomenon you're describing isn't happening like it used to. Silicone isn't getting cheaper, DF and Moores law is dead have talked about this. Regardless, if you're expecting consoles to remain cheap forever then just quit console gaming bc it isn't gonna happen.
@@h.i.mcdunnough9421 it's definitely not getting cheaper with people paying more and defending the companies for taking their money. But that is not because of Moor's law or silicone prices
Yeah man I made a similar video about the xbox as a value proposition a short while back and to my surprise most negative comments are coming from the "budget-PC" crowd and not people engaged in the console war. Great points, I think the same of PS5 Pro.
@@Boostedjedi They want it and can afford it but they got used to consoled being "too cheap to pass up on" - which is needed to drive sales but SONY doesn't need for PS5 Pro to be that succesful. Most people will play PS5 Pro patched games on PS6 - that is what SONY needs PS5 Pro for.
I'm sorry, but you are a bit out of touch with the comment about the disk drive not being included with your comparison to PC. On PC, you have access to many different stores which quite often hold sales etc due to the competition there. On the PlayStation with digital titles, Sony holds the monopoly on the system and can charge whatever they would like. They rarely hold sales and most games are full price. Sony know this and are trying to kill the used market and remove retailer competition. Additionally, you have an issue with accessing purchased content once the store closes for that generation, another issue I have not had a problem with on PC.
Its $700 due to the fact microsoft didnt put out their own upgraded model. This IS the very reason both consoles need to exist whether you are a fan of one brand or not. If its just one console brand then there is no competition to keep the lower price... Which is what is happening here.
I am definitely in a minority but, I think it's fairly well priced. If it was still £699 and came with a disk drive I'd go for well priced. The PS3 was £599 in 2006. That'd be over a grand almost two decades later. I suspect that the ps6 will be at least 699. I wish USA built guitar's and Swiss made watches, German cars and PCs had only gone up by the same percentage in the last couple of decades.
that's because people keep buying it without giving it a second thought. PS5 Pro is repackaged old tech, there is nothing revolutionary in that box to justify 40% price bump. It still can't achieve native 4k and has to fake it with PSSR upscaler.
why so mad when they own the regular one? when the pro announcement came they all laughed and said u want big money for little improvement and made jokes bout the comparisons between normal and pro quality showing nothing different yet they still want it 😂
I think the only real valid complaint I hear is the angle about the disk drive being absent. If they had a $750 bundled SKU alongside this that had a disk drive you might have heard less complaining about at least that.
The PS5 PRO comes with the horizontal stand built in. I don’t know why people complaining about a disc drive when we always had to pay for it since day one lol. $400 digital $500 with disc drive. Day one for me can’t wait💯
@quaquazzy had this operation planned for weeks, my brotha. My local gamestop is down the street. I once stopped some vagrants from jumping behind the counter and taking some shit so they really like me. I took my daughter down the street to a huge park in my city, tired her out. Gamestop opens at 12. I was there at the opening. If it wasn't for me jaw jacking with the girl at opening, I would have been first! As I was leaving, though, it was filling up! Almost tricked her into taking my Sparking Zero copy home a day early 🙃
My speedometer shows 150mph. Just because my car targets that as the top speed doesn’t mean it’ll ever reach it. Just like the ps5 pro targeting 4k 120fps. Wasn’t the base ps5 already marketed as 4k 120fps…. Why would they need a pro then????
The issue is that the price is $810 if you get the stand and disc drive, but the biggest problem is what they have to show for it apart from the remasters of old games most people have played. On that Note, it is Pointless to Get, Because Those 30 TO 60 fps Isnt guaranteed, The PS5 pro Only does 4k with Upscaling graphics, so it says IT is 8k, but it is not what ive Seen Because the resolution is only 2160p for the pd5 pro, For It to be 8K resolution is 7,680 x 4,320. Im a PlayStation player But im not falling for the BS of Sony
its proven to do 8k at 60fps. and most gpu use upscaling also. dlss for example is dlss3.. pssr is barely out and already competes with dlss3. and even computers ray trace.. so upscaling is pretty good compared to pc. even the developers acknowledge its power where its up to 60 ps5 games are going to upscale their games so they can look better.. plus the pssr and its features upscale most games the devs havent even touched on yet
@@MOVIE.KNIGHTS lol they ran 8k at 60fps on a game.. because the devs made it to go 8k. Remember the devs are responsible for the games to upgrade on console and pc.. devs already trying to catch up regardless of console or pc. And don't forget dlss3 and gsr are upscaling deep learning tech with lots of prior time to pssr deep learning and capabilities. Those capabilities at 1rst gen and barely out is functioning rather well.. very comparable to dlss3 and gsr.

Lack of disc drive is bad. Sony PSN prices are ridiculous, on PS4 most of my games were bought second hand or I got great deals on them which I wouldn't have gotten on PSN. Plus you can't resell your games or allow a friend to borrow them etc. Encouraging this practice is a bad bad thing.
There is no way I would pay that much for the PS5 pro I just now upgraded from the PS4 to a PS5 mainly because there are games that are exclusive to the PS5 but graphically there is not that big of a jump between the PS4 and the PS5 but yeah no way I would purchase the PS5 pro
This system is not for everyone. If you don’t care for a deadlocked system 120FPS then it’s not for you. If you want to play the few games that do run at 30FPS at 4K. That’s ok, but this system isn’t for you. This is for us players who can now play every game that supports 60FPS at 4K. 120FPS at 4K. This was made for us. The ones who want more performance without having to upgrade to a PC which has nothing but cheaters on it.
I preordered this yesterday and I started looking on UA-cam for videos to know if it was a good idea or not. I found yours. Thanks for this video. This sold me that I made a right decision. I cannot wait to play my PS5 Pro. I also have a Series X and love both consoles. I also have a gaming laptop with an i9, 32gb ram, rtx 4060, and a 1tb ssd. I'm like you. I don't get into the whole console war over pc debate. They all have their own strengths.
If you guys wanna see a huge improvement with your ps5 graphics right now, go buy a $20-30 gold tipped 8k HDMI cable. I couldn’t believe the difference it made for my ps5 slim
Still don't think it'll be enough to make PC gamers switch from PC to PS5 pro... Because once you already have a PC, the upgrade cost less than buying the PS5 Pro, for more. And here is the point that leads to the PCists thinking, the cost is too much. Buying a RTX 4070 super or a RX 7800 XT to change my GTX 1070 (which is almost 8 years old) and a 1 TB NVMe gen 4 SSD on top of the 4 GB HDD and 1 TB SATA SSD i already have, is still a better option than buying the PS5 pro in my situation. Which leads in only the console player having it to be a better option. Because the highest part of PC gaming, is getting a step on it. Once you are in, you are almost never out. Games are available to play for multiples decades, even once upgraded. Whereas for console, this pro console can run games only for 7 years at max and for the oldest games, 2013 is the limit. And even if you sell it later to buy the PS6, i can do the same with the older parts of my PC. But you will not lose money on a subscription service to play online. 80$/year is the minimum on the PS5. Even if it is just an option, a lot of people play online. and the library of games needs to be ported to the PS6 later on, or you will never be able to play a lot of the games you have buy, other than on 60 FPS on your PS5, no more, no less, even if in 10 years, the latest console is 120 FPS on 4K. U will still need that PS5 to run these older games. If they are still starting.
I wasn't surprised to see the Playstation Pro's price point. Nowadays everything is more expensive. Who would have thought that high-end smartphones these days are easily well over a €1000. Yet here we are... I also belive this price was in a certain sense influenced by Microsoft. The new Xbox Series X sku with 2tb will cost you €599. No way Sony would sell their revamped hardware at the same or lower price. That would be plain stupid. What did people expect? Last time I checked Sony wasn't a charity but a business. Their goal is to make money. When the Switch 2 price will be revealed, I'm certain some people are going to be mad. Nintendo is also a business and let's not forget they have the audacity to sell Tears of the Kingdom for $70. Nintendo has no shame whatsoever and I can see a €499 price point for their new hardware.
700 is expensive I get the complaints from some folks on that front. That aside, the individuals that the pro is aimed toward are ok with the price tag( I am one of those people I’ve already preordered ). I’ve had some folks ask me “why don’t you just get a PC”? Well the main reason being is I have a huge physical library of PS4 and PS5 games. Those won’t translate to a PC, another reason is I have kids who play the PS5 and also have physical and a digital library on PSN so they’ll keep the base model for their entertainment, and lastly I did PC gaming for YEARS, I prefer the ease of plug and play especially with kids who enjoy gaming. I’m not saying everyone should go buy the Pro but it does serve an audience in the gaming market and I’m glad it exists.
It would have been better if you choose an Nvidida graphics card for the comparison build. RDNA 3 doesn't have the RT nor the AI capabilities of PS5 Pro.
There's a pretty straightforward reason everyone is mad. In fact I did a video on it. It really just comes down to the fact that they don't want you to own your games, and they want ownership of the games you play. People are saying it's the price, but that's only the surface level problem.
Whatta you think digital games are? I've had Microsoft accounts, and I have several Sony accounts, and all of the games I've been buying for years are still perfect on each account. So the only reason people like discs are for looks, but in all reality they take up space, they're losable, scratch, break, everything that doesn't happen with digital. Okay, I liked disc better when I was younger, and didn't know anything about gaming, but as a grown man digital is the only way for me, and my games are always buyable, unlike discs.
I think it is not a fanboy topic, it is just pure logic. Discussing this with people owning a gaming PC and a PS5, all of them understand that building a similar platform to the PS5 Pro is going to be more expensive than the $699 or €799 asking price. Understandably for the common folk not aware of PC builds and prices, they are going to find this price really exagerated. But yet again this is not a new generation it is a step up to the actual PS5, if you have the means with a 4k Oled and VRR and the budget you can go for it. Same goes for phone models when they come out, there is a version of the model for everyone depending on needs and budget.
This generation sucks if only this came out during the same era as the 360 or PS2 when they actually had thousands of games. What good is a new system when there isn't really any software anymore.
Disagree on the GPU though since PSSR is closer to the quality of DLSS than FSR. I’m with digital foundry on this one. Considering optimisation I’d wager this is closer to a 4070
It’s actually a very good deal. I pre ordered mine at GameStop and will be happy with the performance upgrade. The performance is actually a lot better than I thought it would be the gpu is comparable to a 4070 or a 7800xt which is very good.
@@chasethechosenone8478 lol of course the idiot pre orders it and defends it XD 5 year old cpu with a gpu that still needs to use up scaling to pull 60. That's wild
this is why I preordered mine, it's a decent deal, coming from a PC world, i am tired of optimizing and looking for new drivers to perfect things. I rather just take it out the box and "poof" all tinkering is gone. And that proprietary PSSR has me excited, i'd have to dig into the wallet to find the PC equivalent, nope, I always vote with my wallet
Imma get one, dont think ill need the stand cuz i lay my ps5 on its side (assuming it doesnt wobble) but definitely get the disk drive since i like having my physical copies displayed like a library.
many people are complaining for whatever reasons against the pro and i have to disagree. the ps5 is a good system and the ps5 pro is for those who want a bit more. you are not forced to buy it. just dont if you dont want and thats it. no need to do the cry baby and find whatever reason to say its a bad console and talk against it. theres also people who are happy and want to buy the pro. there are improvements over the standard ps5 that some will appreciate to have like a 45% boost to GPU, a 2TB SSD, Wifi 7 , AI-powered upscaling tech called PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, , enhanced ray-tracing , a 10 percent cpu boost mode and also a game boost feature.
I agree the pro model is expensive but the pro model will be the best way to play games going forward. Here’s an example: Elden Ring does not run at a locked 60 on base which is why I play the ps4 version on ps5. With the extra power of the GPU Elden Ring will now run locked 60. Other games are just going to run smoother. All the games that are stuck on 50 ish FPS will run smooth now. Lastly over the next couple of years we will also see what PSSR can do which will be way better.that what the base model can do since the base upscaling method is far less complex. One look at FF7 rebirth and you can see it. This will get better with time as the update PSSR on the back end as well. With updates I mean.
I want to have the best experience, and that´s why i pre ordered. I still have the Upgrage from PS4 to PS4 Pro in mind. It was really great, and I guess it will be the same here. I am a working dad, which has quiete small timeslots to enjoy my hobby, and that should be really a great time. Sell my old PS5 for 300+ and add 500 to purchase the new one… which will make me enjoy it for years….
I like the way you explain. Same here, but I also have the Xbox too. Super convenient to play in the living room. Also ordered the ps5 pro. Just to have the best possible graphics.
You know what? I am a console only gamer. Have been all my life. I would like to thank pc's for pushing the envelope for consoles to finally start approaching pc territory!! For someone who doesn't want the hassle or trouble with paying more for a pc, consoles will continue to be my jam. The fan boys on both sides are ridiculous. I have both series x and ps5 and have pre ordered the ps5 pro. Long live gaming no matter what you game on!!!
Finally a person who doesnt just hop on the hate train and actually thinks logically, also the stand complaint is pretty hypocritical aswell, no one was mad that the ps4 didn't include it, (yes the ps4 had a vertical stand, which wasnt included in the box, it just wasnt used as much in marketing) people literally just want to complain
David! Boooy. I am so grateful when I find people who actually use their human capabilities such as the brain 😂. Good talk. No social media procedure, no copy paste opinion, no Wiener. Keep it up.
I have built a lot of gaming computers but still like consoles because of the optimization. I like some cheaper puzzle games and they run smooth on consoles but not so great on pc sometimes. A few of my pc versions they fixed later by remaking it in another engine. I realized then that more power would not fix the issues of judder. Sometimes the pc does not get the newer upgrades.
The pro will only benefit everyone, including PC. People took advantage of the sticker shock by creating hate bait for views, and created a false narrative because of it. This is an optional hardware for enthusiastic. Every game will still be made for the PS5. The only criticism that i have is that there is no disk drive included
@PhillipLemmon this is why I don't trust anyone talking about pc builds. I have a gaming pc.. and from what.we know solely alone about the pro.. the 2tb and 16gb gddr6.. that is expensive already. Which means I am really gunna love the performance on ps5pro when I am fortniting!
U do know that all am4 cpus, including the 3700x, dont support ddr5 right. And i don’t know where u got the 3.85 ghz from but the ps5 pro’s cpu is clocked in at 3.5 ghz, which is the same as the base ps5. but even if it did clock in at 3.85, it still doesnt compare to the 3700x which has a boost clock of 4.4 ghz while the ps5’s cpu is capped at the base clock

Not including the stand was taken by gamers as a big middle finger, rightfully so. People feel like they are being nickeled and dimed. Had Sony even included that, there would be less pissed off people. Sony gets super arrogant when they have success.
And by the way, your example PC rig is not only 200 quid more than the PS5 Pro, it's also in a fuck-ugly large PC case that would absolutely never EVER enter my living room.
clearly what we need is a playstation pc that we can upgrade ourself. then sony could shut windows out of gaming altogether if they captured both markets like that
For all the "just get a pc" people, you're full of it. You will not get a half decent, off-the-shelf, plug and play Pc for $700 that can compete with the Pro. If you want to spend more up front and long term to build a great pc, fine. But the Pro is actually a solid deal.
Love this video I told all my friends u trying to get for 700 a good pc . I have an rtx 4070 super and ryzen 7 7800x my pc is more than 700 by quite a lot . But I preordered the ps5 pro because something tells me that for 700 it will get close to my pc performance even tho my pc is double that that so then 700 is a good deal for me . Yeah the only issue is the disc probably I would agree with that but thats the only thing
Sony sold us all the ps5 on the basis it could do 4k and 120fps. Alot of people went out and bought expensive hdmi 2.1 displays for just that purpose. Sony have now changed the goal posts on us yet again so we can now play games at 60 fps with improved visual on the pro. Only in the world of video games can the likes of sony lie to us and not get sued in the process. On a positive note i think your explination justifies the cost of the console but hardware is only half the story. The game devs have to utalise it something that pc gamers have enjoyed for years !
What I absolutely love about the PS5 Pro is how it exposed a bunch of FANBOYS in the PC Community. I prefer PC And always will, but DAMN These idiots are giving all us PC Gamers a bad look, I still enjoy console gaming myself. What a bunch of pathetic fanboys. We live in the age of complainers. Quite literally. Especially when people really want a product, but cannot afford it. PC gamers upgrade their graphics card to play the same games, but at higher framerates, all the time, and that is normal.

Would have been fine with the price if it came with optical drive and the stand

Sure, because memore is cheap, right?

Literally traded in my series x and switch when gs had that trade in deal, just under $600 total off the price of the 5 pro (neither of which I really use and, technically my PC can serve as my "xbox" with game pass).
Ps5 digital today is available at 389.99, 310 cheaper than the pro. I'll get the original.
I was wondering if has a port for external drive.?
I just feel as a console gamer, it's frustrating they keep doing these mid gen releases. I think a system like this works be better received if it came out as a more expensive system along with the base model.
I know, the Series S. The issue, though, is the Series S made it harder to develop for due to the parity clause.
No need to rip you apart for using your brain. People think consoles will keep improving and magically stay at $500.
Oh right... I thought it was an improved unit. I didn't realise it was the same console just more expensive... My bad.

People are being ignorant, misinformed, or most likely pure cope and seethe to deal with the fact they ps5 pro can do it
Lack of disc drive is bad.
😁
FINALLY someone actually comparing the PS5 Pro parts properly and not using a cheaper gfx card and a 1tb ssd.
Considering optimisation I’d wager this is closer to a 4070
It is only 700 USD in the USA, Europe more like 850 to 900 USD
And that proprietary PSSR has me excited, i'd have to dig into the wallet to find the PC equivalent, nope, I always vote with my wallet
when do u think ps6 will be released
11/08/2027
I keep saying if they add a wire so you can place the optical drive right by your seat ⚡️ that would be game-changing 🤯
Best review of gaming without bias! You got a sub, good buddy!
I don’t care about the price too much. However, most of the games coming out are either remasters or reimaginings so I don’t see a reason to upgrade.
People upgrade their GPU's to play thier older games at higher settings right. Its not just about new games.
i pre ordered. Im selling my ps5 for $300 to my brother in law. Its absolutely worth it for me. Im excited to play "fidelity" mode at 60 fps.
You should include the operating system and the keyboard and mouse plus a controller, dual controllers 90 bucks US
Finally a person who doesnt just hop on the hate train and actually thinks logically, also the stand complaint is pretty hypocritical aswell, no one was mad that the ps4 didn't include it, (yes the ps4 had a vertical stand, which wasnt included in the box, it just wasnt used as much in marketing) people literally just want to complain
Imo they should just add everything that ps5 had in its box to ps5 pro.
David! Boooy. I am so grateful when I find people who actually use their human capabilities such as the brain 😂. Good talk. No social media procedure, no copy paste opinion, no Wiener. Keep it up.
Why can't people face and understand that disc gaming is faded almost, and for good reason.
You didn't include any fans, water cooling, rgb lights, or the loss of privacy as microsoft slowly sucks you clean of any valuable data.
the graphics card is a 16gb gddr6 in ps5 pro... so i dont understand why you chose ddr4 cards. and its 3.85 gh cpu
Cuz he knows gddr5 is STILL expensive AF..... Lol
@@aa-bh3gw no the regular ps5 is clocked at 3.85gh. Amd product.
We don't know the specs on this cpu processor. It might be the same. We don't know yet.
We do know it's GPU is 16gb gddr6 amd gear.. Playstation uses amd.
But GPU
@@aa-bh3gw also processing power from the cpu combined with a 16gbgddr6 will be hands down more powerful.
The vertical stand isn’t really necessary to stand the console vertically, but necessary for a horizontal position otherwise it will wobble.
I thought they did away with that. Doesn’t the slim come with a little clear plastic leg to prop it up in horizontal orientation.
That's only the og model.
$1000 plus in canada for better graphics and an extra a tb might as well to much enough said i will wait till its cheaper
Ima keep my base ps5 with disc drive and just wait for the new ps6
90% of "PS4 Pro Enhanced" games only run in "1080p PS4 Base mode" on the PS5. (Ultra Boost Mode) & PSSR that the Base PS5 was missing.
It's a win for all PS4 Pro gamers.
The Biggest issue i have is no disk drive and who asked for a two terabyte storage which increases the price even higher i will just stick with my og playstation 5 console that came with a disk drive😮😮😮😮😮😮
Just gonna shake your hand mate. I think you articulated perfectly 🤝
is raising prices for consoles the new norm ? atleast the gpu you are buying is more powerful then this
Sony sold us all the ps5 on the basis it could do 4k and 120fps.
Dont listen to those idiots, buy whatever you feel comfortable using.
Im not mad. Most people aren't mad. Toutube and Twitter are not reflective of the real world.
Totally agree with your breakdown, makes complete sense
I agree with you.. but i own a ps5 and i think its a bit to expensive for a slight upgrade. Im going to skip this gen and get the ps6. 😊
damn love the way you describe every detail!!!
Good job on the video
A pc can be upgraded down the line.
I managed to pre-order the pro ... I still don't get the hate like if it's not for you it's not for you but that doesn't mean it's bad
Are you saving money to get it or are you paying flat out....?
Cuz THAT'S the difference.
@@PhillipLemmon I traded in my Xbox Series S & Nintendo 64 with 200$ in Cash basically paid off 365$ out of the 775$ after taxes ... Im going to trade in my OG PS5 in November closer to release that'll cover the difference so out of pocket I'm only paying 200$ in cash do I would say saving money
I have a PS4 Pro and will now buy the PS5 Pro. I no longer have the time, money and interest to bother with PC gaming. 🧐
