@@judyvanschalkwyk6504 While that sounds cool, it's not actually Christian belief. In Christianity everybody who is dead stays dead until Jesus returns in the flesh, resurrects all the dead in the flesh, after which the resurrected dead (and not the dead dead) will be judged and either sent to heaven or hell. THAT is how Christian afterlife works. Now, you may have seen a lot of Hollywood afterlife written by mostly Jewish script writers, though, in which everybody goes to heaven or hell immediately after departing Earth. God bless folks and there is plenty more where that came from. It dosent need to be in the middle of the great tribulation, because even though it isn’t a systematic persecution of Christians(mark of the beast half way), do you think that they’re gonna be particularly popular in that time? Right. This stuff is so irritating because this is not good scholarship. Most scholars and historians believe the NT was written a good amount after the supposed events, were not by the authors the Bible seems to claim they are written by, and there are a number of inaccuracies in these books. The one time this pastor mentions a real scholar like Bart Ehrman, he makes fun of him with something that has nothing to do with actual Biblical material. People need to check out how many myths were popular during the days of Jesus. So many people were said to have done miracles and be gods in ancient Greco-Roman culture. Of course, people made their anarchist leader/ rabbi a god (Jesus). That was the cultural way of the time. They made other leaders into deities, as well. To each their own, but I wish people would stop sending these types of videos to me to try to convert me. I was a Christian and will never be again. I know the Bible too well to ever believe it again. What caused me to leave is learning more about the Bible and reading it daily. I was more devout than any Christian I've ever known. I was raised in it and denied education on real science. Education and knowledge caused me to leave this fear mongering behind. No hate on the decent Christian people I know, but this faith stuff isn't for me. I do facts, not faith. Anything claiming for me to leave logic behind isn't the system for me. To each their own!
Your last argument makes it sound like the evidence for the resurrection is equal to or more important than the Bible. And it’s the same argument ANDY Stanley makes.
@judyvanschalkwyk6504 , archeology proves that many religions are real, as well then because there are plenty of religious and mythical tales written that take place in actual places, yet are still myth. That is what historical fiction does. Just because the Bible takes place in some real places, doesn't mean the stories happened the way it states.
What he said about the Shabbat is wrong. Roman changed the day of worship to Sunday because Shabbat was Jewish and anyone who rested on Shabbat was put to death. The first church of modern day was antisemitic. The book of Act was almost not put in because it was too Jewish. Luke and Act are actually two parts of the same book, but they were separated because they were too Jewish together. James is also not a Jewish name, in the new testament everyone who was named Jacob the name was changed to James in honor of king James. The book of James is actually called Jacob in the original language.
Dennis Prague may be conservative on many issues BUT he is very agreeable with pornography even as a married man! Yes I’ve seen videos of Dennis saying so.
you are wrong the apostles kept the Sabbath and it was changed by Acts 17:2 Constantine. Acts 13:44, Acts 18:4. Matthew 5:18 all the Laws of G-d are still in effect.
The laws WERE in effect during the Acts references that you mentioned because Paul was just then bringing the Gospel to the Jews. Where & when did Paul go when he wanted to preach to all the Jews under one roof? The synagogues, and on the sabbath day. He was not keeping the sabbath day- he was spreading the Gospel, which leaves out only one commandment- to keep the sabbath day. Why does the Gospel leave out the sabbath day? The purpose of the sabbath day was to rest, as G-d did, and sanctified it. That is to rest for ONE day. Christ now provides that rest on EVERY day, "The Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath"- Mark 2:28, so we no longer need to keep a single day set aside for rest. Mark 2:23-27. Our souls rest everyday. Also, extra sacrifices were required on the sabbath day. Because Jesus' blood atoned for our sins on the cross, those sacrifices are no longer required. IF the sabbath day was still required, then every person who leaves their house on Saturday should be killed, and we would all still need to offer burnt sacrifices.
I don't agree with your interpretation of Paul's Sabbath-- if Paul contradicts the Father or his son, he would be apostate not apostle. God did not change.(1Jn2:3-4)
I don't believe they did away with the Sabbath, if you read Acts you can see they still observed it & that was when they taught in the synagogue a lot of the time just like Christ did. But of course they no longer follow the law which requires death to anyone working on the Sabbath & they did not require gentiles to follow the law of the Sabbath either. But in reality I don't think anyone can do away with the Sabbath because that predates the law, it's one of the first thing God told Adam to observe in the beginning
No sorry that's your interpretation, Adam means man which was the first man, & Eve is the mother of all living is what it says so you have an incorrect interpretation on Genesis & I'll go with Moses rather than you
Does that take away from the fact that they still observed the Sabbath as being something God declared?.. it's from the very beginning 1Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. 2And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. 4This is the [a]history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, 5before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; 6but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground. 7And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. Life in God’s Garden 8The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. 9And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. 10Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four riverheads. 11The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one which skirts the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12And the gold of that land is good. Bdellium and the onyx stone are there. 13The name of the second river is Gihon; it is the one which goes around the whole land of Cush. 14The name of the third river is Hiddekel;[b] it is the one which goes toward the east of [c]Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates. 15Then the Lord God took [d]the man and put him in the garden of Eden to [e]tend and keep it. 16And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you[f] shall surely die.” 18And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” 19Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to [g]Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. 20So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. 21And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He [h]made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. 23And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called [i]Woman
