I bought the same model, I love mine, I had a problem with the left front igniter and I called customer service and the were nice enough to send me a new one at no charge to me, they were very helpful and I purchased mine in 2018 and the sent me the igniter replacement in August 2024. I don’t know where you live but I would buy the black top you are replacing off you in a heartbeat I am real hard on my black top and your used one looks brand new compared to mine lol.

For cleaning the porcelain cooktop: I first clean with a mild cleaner to get fresh cooking spills cleaned. Then to shine, I use Weiman "aresol" Stainless Steel cleaner and polish with a Dry soft cloth. If there are stubborn water stains, I follow up with Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish. IUse the Mothers sparingly so that it cleans up easily. I find that this gets the cooktop looking like new! I hope this helps.

I've had one for four years (purchased September 2021). The only issue I've had was the igniter for the oven failed which we recently had repaired. I thought the burners were too hot and it is hard to simmer. I finally realized I can adjust them so my plan is to dial back two of the burners. Overall we have been very happy with the Zline. It was replacing a Kenmore that was installed when the house was remodeled two years before we purchased the house that I was never very happy with.

For the price and the nice "professional" look, it seems worth it even if it did have some issues. Nice follow-up.

@arevee9429 Thank you. I don't disagree. We do still like the range. We love the looks, and it's working perfectly again after a pretty simple fix. I was just a bit frustrated that it "broke" after only 4.5 years. But by today's standards with major appliances, I guess that's not terrible.

I appreciate the dedication with the review. I am considering a line appliance package and your reviews have been very helpful

excellent input ! seems to me that a company that's asking consumers to buy their product at the price they are asking would have prepared for the eventual necessity to replace parts and make them compatible . Again nice video with lots of great info . I was thinking of purchasing this very stove , now Im not feeling this companies commitment to quality .

I owned a restaurant for 14 years and have dealt repeatedly with critical equipment failures on equipment. Based on that experience, what is described here is minor. When I was selecting appliances for my home kitchen 5 years ago, I bought this exact model. The stove gets heavy use. The only issue I have had with it is the porcelain spotting.
I chose the Z-Line because of price point, which was significantly lower than commercial dual fuel units AND the gas burners will still function without electric power. Having selected the same model I'm sure that I have confirmation bias, but I'm confident that I made the right decision. As long as parts are available and the equipment can be repaired, I'll stick with Z-Line.

Thanks for the comment/insight. As for the black porcelain top, I will say that the new one is cleaning up WAY better than the first one. Not sure if they've improved the paint or whatever, but it's simply not spotting like the first one. The range has been trouble-free since the rehab/repair.

You should buy one of those stove protectors for the new top plate.

I bought a Viking 30" dual fuel in December 2016. Worst purchase I ever made. It has rarely ever worked properly. Temperature of oven has always been unstable and unpredictable. While under warranty we had it serviced twice and thought it was fixed but the problems came back. Viking HQ had no constructive input. Now the regular mode oven temp varies by as much as 100 degrees and the convection mode while mostly stable (not always) takes 15 to 30 mins to recover after a door opening. Also only 2 burners will light despite service being called twice. We are done with Viking - they Just. Don't. Care.. Your easy fixes for the Zline are impressive and if a broken oven temp light and burnt spade connector are the only real functional issues - I'd say you are WAYYY out ahead. I'm about to buy a Zline RA30 model withe the brass burners and an extended warranty. It has to be better than the Viking trash I wasted my money on 7 years ago.

This is a perfect example of why I hate shopping for any major appliance. It seems like no matter the brand, or how much you pay, there will be great reviews and bad reviews. It just feels like gambling now. I hope you have good luck with your Zline!

@@MrNiceguy259- I agree 100%. Consumer grade and many pro-grade major appliances today are almost all made using cheaply produced electronic components (mostly Asian-sourced). Many also use cheaply made structural and functional components. The entire market is horrible compared to 40 years ago and earlier. Manufacturers are not committing the time and slightly higher cost in demanding & testing for minimum tolerance specified electrical and functional physical components (such as "Mil Spec" quality that the military procurement always demanded). "Style" looks great and that's what sells most unaware consumers, but the quality after the sale is what creates loyal brand customers. Something that seems to have been lost.

Pro "style" range. It also costs half what a Wolf costs, and I've seen reports of problems with Wolf too. But yeah, you get what you pay for. It looks impressive, but it's our last Zline.

DO NOT BUY a Z-Line oven!!! Mine has only given grief; it made my wife cry. I'm trying to get my money back, but I'm afraid I will have to pay $100 to have it thrown in the landfill.
