Saw one hanging in a shop, made the mistake of trying it. Had to buy it!
Just found a black 150 all dusty hanging in an old guitar store. Looks WAY better hanging next to my 390! ...oh yeah.
11-52 strings and drop C weren't even a thing when it was built, and yet it LOVES swimming around down there below sea level!

I bought mine new in the early 80s. Still love it. Gigged it, recorded with it and damn near cried when my daughter dropped it on a concrete floor and took a small chunk out of the back lower edge. Fortunately, no other damage and still plays true. Action is amazing, tone so rich. They will only get it off me when the box I am in is being buried!!!!
Exact same finish as my 250. Superb guitar. Les Paul beater. If you see one in good nick, then buy it.
Bought mine 2nd hand in 1986 from McCormack's in Glasgow and still use it. Lovely guitar and you can play anything from death metal to jazz on it and it still looks and sounds the part!
Thanks for posting this. This was my first serious electric guitar. Bought new in 1986, it cost $850 AUD inc hard case. I still have her and we will never part. :)

I originally bought one of these in 1986 and gave it to my daughter a few years later, I looked for another for about 15 years and found this one for sale not very far from home in Perth West Australia and I managed to buy it, they are a fabulous guitar, I have 25 guitars and this is the pick of the bunch. I have since found another and purchased that too, 3 in the family, just beautifully made fabulous playing and sounding guitars
@MT-Guitars Yes that is correct I bought it and have since found another and purchased that also. A word on the tone controls -
Called PEQ tone controls:
Wind it down from the center detent and it’s a normal tone control giving apparent bass boost by filtering out the treble
Wind it up from center gives a sound like variable coil tap, thins the sound out like a single coil.
tone control goes from full humbucker to out of phase humbucker rather than to a single coil split. Lovely guitar.

i have one of these i bought new in 1982 for £220 in the red tiger flame i still have it and its as mint the day i bought it a cracking guitar to play as well as look at i just dont know how they did this quality for the price they must have just not made any money on it shame, they are sought after today so relish them not many ever come up for sale in any part of the world i saw one on ebay bay a couple of years ago and went well over £1200 and it was marked and modded

Interesting that everyone here seems to have owned these without issues. I am super keen to get one but every time I research I hear stories of the crappy pot metal bridge (which cannot be repaired or replaced) breaking and leaving the owner with an unusable guitar. Anyone with experience ............please comment!
