I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's all about the two Mel's.
Yep always thought they had thr most powerful voice of the group and their visual was everything. I loved them back then and I love them even more today. Mel B body is goal.
Emma's got the most hypnotic voice.
Mel C was always the secret weapon.
I think she had the most, powerfu, "Lead", voice, and she was very often given to handle vocal call-outs and ad-libs that added something special and uninhibited to the overall delivery.
Again and again, on different tracks, it's Mel C you hear crying out a simple refrain over everyone else and from deep in her belly.
They were a team, but Mel C had a unique and unmistakeable role, that maybe only Mel B could equal - but Mel B didn't have the brass-like quality.

YESSSS! ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!! So funny you saying its simple. That was what The Spice Girls wanted. Simple songs and dance moves but catchy so young fans especially could dance at concerts. They appealed to all ages, but really played to their younger fans.

B*Witched achieved something the Spice Girls didn't: B*Witched's first four songs all entered the UK singles chart at #1, the first group who ever achieved that. Some of their B-sides and album tracks were really good too, eg their cover of Coming Around Again by Carly Simon, well worth a listen to hear them sing something a bit less poptastic.

My friends and I performed 3 years in a row as the spice girls in the school talent show. I was sporty spice. We had all the outfits and even a real ginger and a real blonde 😂😊
Sporty Spice for me! I really related to her as a tomboy myself. My best friend at the time was a huge fan of Scary Spice. We dressed as both for a halloween party. ^_^

Mel B is local to me. She’s from the same city (Leeds).
The Spice Girls were pioneers in some ways. They wrote their own songs and every decision they made was made as a group. They made sure all members had singing parts (most girl groups prior had one main singer and the rest were back ups). They even made their own record deal when they parted ways with their manager
Viva Forever is a more slower song of theirs I like but I’ll be looking for Spice up Your Life
"Viva Forever" is a beautiful song, very whimsical. "Too Much" is hands down my favourite Spice Girls song, still play it to this day as nostalgia with "Stop" "2 Become 1" "Never Give Up On The Good Times" & "Denying"

I totally forgot about this song too! I think "Wannabe" is probably their most famous song, at least to me. I really liked this one too though. It is like Spice Girls did a collaboration with Stevie Wonder, lol. As people have said, Mel B. is the African American and she was a judge on America's Got Talent for a long time. One of the other Spice Girls is "Posh Spice" who is Victoria Bekham, David Bekham's (the soccer player or football in the UK, lol) wife. They were huge in the 90s but you either loved or hated them it seemed, at least in the US. I always liked them. They performed in the closing ceremonies for the London Olympics in 2012 also and they were a huge hit because people had desperately been wanting them to reunite and tour which they eventually did and I think still have more plans to do.

Awesome that you checked out one of my most favorite Spice Girls songs! :D This didn't just give me a kick of nostalgia, it was like nostalgia punched me in the face. I wish I could turn back time to when I was rocking to this song as a 10-year-old kid (or somewhere around that age). It has such wonderful 90s vibes.

I was never a big fan of theirs, but this wasn't just my favorite song by them, but I've always loved this song and think it's their best effort. The music video is hot, and I love the Stevie Wonder-inspired harmonica riff.
Got to agree. Not all the best singers or dancers, but together, they made it work. Seemed like most kids had a favorite Spice Girl they identified with. They were fun.

It never failed to get airplay along with I Want You by Savage Garden, Pony by Ginuwine, a host of things by Michael Jackson, Backstreet Boys, Nsync, Shania Twain, Garth Brooks, John Michael Montgomery, En Vogue, and Boys II Men. And, among all that 90s flavor, Tainted Love by Soft Cell was a frequent flyer.

I could enjoy life, and no matter what happened, it seemed inevitable that things would work out. Those songs were the soundtrack of youth. Tainted Love was a particular favorite.

I don't know what was up in the mid to late 90s with filming music videos in the desert, but this was filmed at the El Mirage dry lake bed in California, same as Shania Twain's "That Don't Impress Me Much" two years later.

I was such a spice boi when I was a kid I was like seven when Spice World came out. I owned both albums, several books of biographies and photo shoots, posters, made my step dad take me to see them in concert, saw the movie opening night, I had a huge crush on all of them but especially Emma
