Hi EfyaKimora, thanks for sharing with us your experience while visiting some parts of Nigeria. I followed your contents with keen interest just to get a young Ghanaian's perspective on visiting Nigeria. Concerning your comment about Nigerians calling some food "Swallow", you have to understand that in Nigeria we have different kinds of food that we don't chew when eating them. We simply swallow them as the name suggests. These foods includes Eba{made from Garri or fried cassava flakes} Fufu, made from either pounded yam or yam mixed with cocoa yam or misxed with green unripped plantain, Amala, made from dried yam peels, Tuwo, made from either corn or millet or even soghom. All of these are meant to be swallowed with what we call soup or source of different kinds. So, all the food that is meant to be swallowed and not chewed is called SWALLOW at the restaurant or chop bar. It is now left for you to mention which particular swallow you want depending on what the restaurant has on offer. I hope this helps to clarify things to you. Take care and continue your journey towards discovering Africa.
