- We missed some key footage on our last upload so we're re-uploading our hood install. We hope this helps to answer any questions you have when trying to do an install of your hood by yourself.
Watch as we convert our enclosed trailer into a food truck / concession trailer. Please subscribe to our channel to get updates and help us monetize our account. To create a hole for the service window we cut a giant hole into the side of a perfectly good enclosed trailer. We go through all the steps that we took to cut into the trailer and we'll walk through the steps of building a successful food truck business.

Great Vid. 1 thing that jumped out at me though. If you screwed into the roof joists first you could suck it all the way up while the back is free to travel. That would also take the load off of the winch. Jus sayin'.
I drew it in at the top and back with bolts 🔩 thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
I'm waiting for next ep.Thanks for your sharing.
Thanks next episode coming soon
Hey just installed my first hood today using the boat trailer winch and it worked great! Thanks for making this video.
That's awesome! Glad it worked out
Thanks for sharing man, awesome video!
Thanks for watching!
Great video it helped me a lot .. 21 yr old female did it by herself
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching! New video coming soon
Nice job man, can’t wait till it’s don would love to see the fan part, good luck keep up the good work brother.
Thanks
You make it look easy! Thank you!
Thanks!
Great job man
Thanks!
Exelent Job 👍
Thanks
Good job I’m confused about the fan?
Did you drill through the studs?
It looks easy! How about fan? Do you have a video installing fan too?
Fan video coming up in a month or so
Great video, have you installed the exhaust fan yet?
No not yet but I will definitely post a video when I do. Thanks for watching!
Did you do a video on the fan mount? If so can you please tag this comment with it. Thanks
Not yet but I will soon, thanks for watching
When penetrating the hood, you need to add UL rated seals.
there is plenty he did completely wrong....
When are you going to show us the fan installation and cut of the roof? Interested
Flooring installation video coming soon, fan installation will be a bit later, I have to re-think the plan for the fan.
Not supposed to penatrate hood. If you do should be UL listed greasetight. All seams welded.
Can you tell me please what kind of bolts you used to hold the hood in please? You said something about galvanize but that was it and where can I buy him thank you very much
I used Galvanized 1/4 ×20 Galvanized lag bolts, I got them from the home depot
Some states this installation wouldnt pass inspection die to modification of equipment
Have you installed your exhaust fan yet? Also, I want to go with a side mount. Do you have any links on where to purchase?
Exhaust fan video coming soon, I don't have links but I got everything on either Amazon or ebay
Relatively new to this industry, my question is what's the benefits of having an automatic fire suppression system as far as a KIDDE or an ANSUL system?
Those are competitors, either one is fine and will accomplish the same thing. Check with your local officials for their requirements because they will be different depending on your menu and equipment.
@@IfICanDoItYouCanDoIt .... thanks for the info., I thought it might've been cheaper for insurance.
That could definitely be possible, worth looking into
@@IfICanDoItYouCanDoIt.... I currently do factory installed fire suppression systems for commercial kitchen hoods and curious for what is marketable for efficiency.
I wish I had a good answer for you but I don't know, thanks for the question and thanks for watching
Can you elaborate on how you fabricated/installed the ducts?
Nice install, were you able to install the fan?
I haven't installed the fan yet but I will post a video when I do, I'm going with a low profile side mount
Question (maybe it's below in the comments) what's your inside height of your trailer?? 7'?
I.I'm pretty sure it's 6.5 feet
My question is how much is it cost to install it, I want to know if it’s a lot of money or the ones here where I went they want 24k just to install that😐
Yes they are expensive to have someone install them, that's why I'm installing it myself
Hi do you have any video of installing the make up fan? Thank you
I'll be installing the fan soon
@@IfICanDoItYouCanDoIt Is it mandatory?
In Wisconsin it depends on what you are cooking and what type of equipment you are running propane , fryers and cooking fatty foods require it i think up here
How heavy was the hood? Also where did you get the crank? Thank you for sharing the video!
The hood was pretty heavy not sure exactly how heavy though, I got the boat winch on Amazon. It would've been very difficult to lift without it even if I had 3 or 4 helpers. Great question and thanks for watching!
Are vent hood filters recommended?
Not that I'm aware of, I Plan on cleaning the removable pieces that are designed to catch the grease from the exhaust
watching a young billy bob thorton?
I get that alot 😂👍
Starting to build my food trailer, not including the trailer how much $$$ do you estimate you'll have into it when finished?
I'm not sure but I've seen it done with a very small budget and a huge budget, it just depends on how much you want to spend
How is it wired?
It's not wired yet but I'll post a video when I get it wired
What kind of hood did you bought? And where please
Hoodmart.com
SIR! No washers above!?!
I used lag bolts so no washers on the bolt head side.
@@IfICanDoItYouCanDoIt gotcha! I'm working on my hood install right now. Biggest pain in the ass.
Yes but worth it as compared to paying someone else to do it
@@IfICanDoItYouCanDoIt I agree. The food truck wouldn't even be feasible if I didn't do it myself! I'll have about 15k in it when I'm done. I was quoted 45 - 55 to build! 😳
@@BigEz4Ever that's the same reason I'm doing it
What is the material behind the hood on the wall? Does it have to be NSF steal or vinyl type paneling
Its frp but I'll be going over it with diamond plate aluminium underneath the hood because of the heat
@@IfICanDoItYouCanDoIt Like your resourceful style. For someone on a budget would aluminum roofing flashing work/ pass inspection in your area?
@@zennseven thanks! In our area it just has to be a smooth hard surface that's easy to clean so I'd say that would work here in Wisconsin not sure what the requirements are it your area. Great question, thanks for watching!
Me, I was bolting above my head first. Accident are meant to happen
Quiero uno precios
ya didnt actually do it by urself.... perhaps u should change the video title to; installed with some help
I actually did it myself with no help from the camera person 😂
@@IfICanDoItYouCanDoIt you had help cranking it up..... smh
Phone no sir
