    👋🏼Hi my friend, May I ask, can 100% silicone roofing coating be applied over flex seal, will it stick to each other? Also how well does flex seal adhere to 100% silicone caulking?

    Hey Frank, I have a question:
    I had made a comment but then deleted it because I actually thought more about it and wasn't sure, so I wanted to ask you first:
    If that square duct was cut shorter, would it have fit the hole without having to make the hole 1/4" bigger? It seems like the hole was cut bigger, then the duct was cut shorter later. I'm wondering if those two steps were reversed, would you have been able to fit the duct in, due to not having to go at such an angle, with it being shorter? Or am I going to run into the same issue regardless?

    • @fbaltierrez
      @fbaltierrez  7 місяців тому +1

      That's a tough one, I know with the other I cut, I used that angle to my advantage and made it fit more flush. But took a few to get it lol

    Instead of silicone which will fail in a few years, use butyl instead. You can usually get it in rolls from a metal roof supplier. I've removed roofs that were 20+ years old and the butyl is still in good shape and pliable. It can be molded and placed under and around washer/bolts and will smash into the threads and any holes when compressed. Been using for that purpose for years and haven't had any leaks.

    I love your videos thank you so much for doing them.. I'm also building a trailer and I have the same style ceiling is what you have and I was wondering how I was going to attach a square Hood and something like that. Seeing how you have them put the 45 on it will be a big benefit for me as well. My question is what were those jacks that you used to hold it up? Where did you get those? Those would be so handy.

  • @guidononya7368

    Those large hood bolts going through the roof. I would have used thick rubber washers underneath the fender washers. So you won't get leaks.And instead of using flex seal, I would have used mobile home roof sealer. It's a silver seal paint you use a roller to apply.

    Hi Frank thank you for your amazing video bro. Can you help me with this: i have a single-speed exhaust fan and it goes much faster than i need, can i use a motor speed control "Vari-Speed" as yours to control it? My exhaust fan is : 115 V, 3 A. wiring is straight forward: from my input wires, one black (line), one white(neutral) and one green (ground), they are connected in the same order and color to my fan. So in order to add a "Vari-Speed" in between, which means i just connect the my black from the input to one red from the knob, and another red from the knob to the black of the fan? Make sense? Please show me Frank or anyone with that knowledge, thank you all.

    • @fbaltierrez
      @fbaltierrez  11 місяців тому

      To be honest I would not know the answer to this. I just use the kit that comes from hoodmart as is. It's a variable motor switch. I'm assuming guessing since yours is single speed it won't work. But that is a guess

    Hey Frank , Dude you did a phenomenal job explaining the whole hood installation process, which is the reason I was able to do it myself.
    My question is why did you never mention that you have to order the fire suppression system with the hood from the hoodmart when you order the hood because I just called today to order the fire suppression system from hoodmart but shockingly they do not sell the fire suppression system by itself , you have to order it with the hood and it comes pre installed.

    was there any specific reason why you went from a 3/4in to a 1/2in connection for the exhaust fan? I'm starting the hood install this week and needed to pick up the liquidtite and connectors.

      3/4 is the fitting size from the hood. No reason you can use 3/4 I just didn't want to buy more
