As always - love your selections. Should I use good sipping Blanco's in a cocktail or should a cheaper one suffice. It seems to me we are hiding the taste of the Blanco with other stuff mixed in.
You can use cascahuin blanco, relatively cheap and is amazing with no additives. Or to go the even cheaper route you can use espolon blanco. You can still make cocktails with the good tequila though, makes it taste even better
I agree with Roger here, you certainly can use these. It'll make some drinks taste amazing and some drinks it won't make the biggest difference. I do have a video on budget tequilas that i find better for cocktails
The best inexpensive, but still naturally made (no difffuser) and high quality tequila is Pueblo Viejo Blanco. An incredible value for a good quality tequila, i.e. a well-tequila, if you will.
I can attest to Ocho Plata's excellent quality. Thing smells sweet and tastes like spicy peppers on a grill at a taqueria. It is a super high quality tequila. My mind was blown by it.
I never gave a thought to tequila until I ran into your videos. After scouting my Total Wine I was able to find blancos for Tesoro, Ocho, Tequilena, Tapatio, and Cimarron. Excellent video, as always, Lui! Just discovered your channel and it is now my go-to for tequila. As I write this, I am enjoying a pour from my first bottle of Tequila Ocho Plata I bought yesterday for $48. I remember when I could walk into any good liquor store and see the full line of Fortaleza on the shelf. Now? Nope. Not for several years now. The market has gotten wise. Ugh.
Thank you so much friend! Happy to hear that 😁 and i agree Ocho is something else. Fortaleza has been impossible to find. I actually just released a video last week talking about why that is
I very highly recommend Anteel Tequila. It's a husband and wife owned company based in Detroit, Michigan. They have a regular blanco and a reposado, and recently launched a Blood Orange Blanco. But, their biggest claim to fame and perhaps best product is their multi award winning Coconut Lime Blanco. Oh, and the wife is a 2 time cancer survivor!
I see you have the El Tequileno Platinum Blanco in this video. Is their Blanco (without "Platinum") any good? That one seems to be something I could get my hands on.
It is! It's a Mixto meaning it isn't 100% blue agave, and some of the alcohol comes from a different source but it is still additive free and a great price.
Great video. Que bueno que distingues tequila blanco de otros. Por ejemplo "cristalino o plata" not the same. Try Herradura directo de alambique. Salud
