The cool thing about all the Zoom interviews in the last few months is that you get a glimpse of all these famous people's houses \m/
I was in that room a few years back. It's definitely an amazing spot!
Why does Dave have a Facelift Gold (or 2X Plaitinum) Album Plaque? Does he have a credit somewhere on it I don't know about?
EDIT: The only thing I can think of is it has something to do with the Clash of the Titans tour. Which was awesome BTW.
@@Jay.McCarty It could be a gift or a replica.
@@Jay.McCarty Pretty sure he helped produce some of it, or co-wrote some of it, I can't remember what he said, but he had some small involvement.
@@LowEndUniversity It was a gift from the band on the Clash of the Titans tour.
Dave apparently is in on-going Stage-4 type Chemotherapy. He has no eyebrows and sounds very tired. He is looking extremely thin as well. I wish him the best and hope he can beat this cancer.
Fonts?
How do you know? He said he beat cancer
Didn’t he say he already beat cancer ??
He beat it already.
@@pinkbastard2.080 Yes but that doesn't necessarily mean it's over. The statement would have just meant that he overcame the life-threatening aspect and is now going through the motions of completely removing it, which will obviously take its toll on someone of his age and history of drug abuse (he legally died in 1992 for instance). No matter what, Dave is not going to live a very long life, but he's still got a strong 15 years in him from now I think, and of course, that will be plenty of time to have rocked the world and done more than most could in several lifetimes.
Give this man a lifetime achievement award. Started 2 bands 40 years ago. All his songs are still relavent
100%
Dave Mustaine is such a legend. Words cannot describe how excited I am for the new album and to hear what he has to say
I can't wait for the new music
I like how Dave has Facelift on his wall. I didn't know he had appreciation for Alice in Chains.
When he first heard them play (during rust era) he thought they were cool, and took them on tour with megadeth
One of the best concerts I went to was in 1992 Rest In Peace Tour at Hammersmith Apolo supported by Alice In Chains and Pantera. We had front row seats and even managed to have a pint with Layne Staley afterwards. I guess his love for Alice In Chains must have stemmed from that era. Facelift is one of my all time classics
TheGiftTubeChannel that’s crazy man, 3 such iconic bands all on the same night
@@syncops834 Plus I managed to get Diamond Darrell's plectrum, Vinnie's drumstick and a slap in the face by Phil Anselmo ;) To say it was probably the best gig I had ever been to is an understatement
Wait, didn't Dave say he hates grunge?
Dave already wrote everything to PREPARE US FOR RIGHT NOW.
True story!
All I could hear in my head, while the lefties were trying to tear down the statues....."little man, with the big eraser...."
Take a mortal man and put him in control. Watch him become a God. Watch people's heads a roll.

@Ram that woud be awsom lyrics not even kidding
@Ram im a fucking retard
I'm worried about Dave here. He doesn't look very well. I realize he's had the cancer battle and the meds to go along fighting that battle but he looks very gaunt and weak. I wish him well in his continuous recovery.
He's a strong bastard, and I'm sure he'll live to be a strong old bastard. I too wish him well, cancer se poes.
People said Keith Richards looked like zombie since 50 years ago, and he's still doing concert lol. Jason Becker was given 3-5 years to live when he was diagnosed with ALS, yet he's still alive and outlived many including his idol.
He is a tough man. Treatment is hell for sure. I did 16 chemo rounds. It can stay in your system for a couple years after. Everyone handles it differently.
He kinda looks like the way Tom Hanks looked in the movie Philadelphia when he is being asked to leave the library
It doesn't look good sadly
He’s honestly such an intelligent, insightful guy
i heard this before somewhere
Dave really seems at peace with himself. Good to see him doing well!
Dave Mustaine is a living LEGEND!!! Dave in my opinion is one of the greatest songwriters ever. I have been a huge massive fan of Megadeth for over thirty years. I love all their albums. Dystopia is one of their greatest albums, and I am really looking forward to their new one big time.
I really hope Dave gets better, it really saddens me to see him in this state.

Lying in State and Post American World perfectly describes the current state of things, so, maybe it's difficult but he surely can do it.
i was thinking the same
Post American world is underrated, i love that song
Dystopia is exactly the state of this nation right now an album released in 2016 yet it sounds more like it was made for 2020. The exact definition of Dystopia : an imagined state or society in which there is great suffering or injustice, typically one that is totalitarian or post-apocalyptic. We have a side pushing for and causing the chaos and then telling people this is YOUR America if you do not think our way.
@@jwpowerplay That's gonna put "Dystopia" in history courses
Yep.
" another day, another manufactured crisis keeping the people distracted"
Dave Mustaine is a musical genius :-) ROCK ON!!!!!!! \m/ \m/
one of my favorite ballads of all time is "promises". however i understand why dave won't want to go into a place like that. a part of me wishes he does. however, it takes a lot outta you. hope he gets well soon.
Write the lyrics the way you have always written them, Dave.
From the heart.

It’s great to see Dave overcome yet another huge, life changing obstacle. I’ve been following this guy since 1985 and don’t know if I would’ve lasted this long.
Hope Dave Is safe and doing the best he can. Really apreacciate him
yet they put out Dystopia which if you listen to it that almost sounds like an album made for 2020 more than it was for 2016
Dave got facelift in the background my 2 favorite bands
That facelift album cover in the back shows Dave is a diehard fan of the hard stuff, even if they were competitors at the time. Warms my heart. Get well and stay well dave we need you around more than ever
Dave took Alice out. He loves them!
I find it hard to be growing old with these guys.....these guys were like gods for a small town kid from Michigan.....
Love this guy .he's awesome. Metallica and Megadeth greatest bands ever remember the first time I seen Dave was on That Metal years VHS I was a kid I used to watch that every day

I feel so bad for Dave and what he's going through. God please let him make it. It's just horrible. It's heart wrenching.
My thoughts exactly, I really hope he gets better! We've lost so many great artists in the last ten years we NEED Dave.
@lukko1978 Life has always been suffering, how could if be any other way?
This pandemic and other tragic events going on in the world that Dave spoke of should serve as great inspiration for a metal band, especially one named Megadeth.
Feel Better, Dave!
God bless you Dave. You look in your 70s brother! I’m so worried about your health. I love you and hope you’re doing well. 🙏🏻❤️ Long live king Mustaine 🤘🏻

Dave should go back on the Alex J show on info wars.
I love your political talk
Didn't know Dave kept a disc display thing of Facelift, that's fucking dope.
This man is my guitar hero. What made me want to play better and harder. I cannot wait to meet him this September. Can’t explain how important this man is to me.
God I can't wait for the new album.
Quick full recovery, the world needs Dave back on track again. Up Megadeath 💪

Happy to see he's humbled out. Really hope he gets better its saddening to see anyway in this state.
He is probably not well right now.
Dave you are so right the news is mostly bad and can depress the hell out of you that's why music is more important than ever :-)
Now im really looking forward to the next MD album.
Dave Mustaine is the fucking man. Then Now and Forever. He's put up with a lot of bullshit over the years so we could bang our heads. He is deserving of our respect and gratitude. Thank You Dave!! Love You!!
I saw megadeth in 2001 the band was still in their prime awesome, it's going to be interesting if things get back to normal to see Dave and the band back on stage
We lost sight of our philosophy & succumbed to fear, even the best of us & it’s time to remember who we are & what we stand for
I'm far from best, and I haven't succumbed to fear. Maybe I'm just an extreme optimist.
@@kelle0285: fear took over during the pandemic, at least for me it did & when I got to the other side of it I realized that I had lost my way. I had to hit the reset button & align myself with more of a “Nietzche” mindset.
if only Dave realized how much more crazy things would get.
AIC facelift on the wall. Never took Dave as a grunge fan. Cool 😎🤘😎
@Donovan Davis yeah I'd agree there with you. Sap and jar of flies were pretty experimental albums/EPs closer to the grunge feel. People forget the other bands like swervedriver, candlebox, tad, paw etc. There was actually more metal in the grunge scene than the nirvana/alternative sound.
I like what he said about the virus in the last two minutes. He acknowledges it exists, he wants it to go away and he is confident that we will win the battle against the virus eventually. He has faith in humanity, in the end.
I wish you well, Dave. Take care of yourself.
...i`m german..I think, he is on a good way,ok, he looks tired, but there is no grab of the hands of death visible in his face like all others I have seen whom died to cancer.I wish him all the best,Mr Mustane has done so much for our music souls, without eeing the tipycal Rockstar for the masses..all my best wishes to him..most of my forecasts gone right in the past..
Alice in Chains (Facelift) cover behind Dave....... What's the story behind this, anybody know? In his house?
Saw that too - maybe a gift to him after the Titans tour? Just a guess
Probably a gift from the Alice guys. Megadeth were the first band to take them on tour (clash of the titans 1990/1991) and alice in chains would have not been here today if it wasn't for megadeth. Also I believe Dave co-produced the album
@@samueleceolin3244 he didn't, but yeah, the tour

SO MUCH RESPECT
Anyone else want to go straighten that lamp behind him? lol
I like how real dave is
Damn...i would think Dave would have a lot to say about the crazy world we are living in right now
I have been a Megadeth fan since they first began after Dave got kicked out of Metallica. I've chosen Megadeth over Metallica ever since. I still like Metallica, but Megadeth will always be my favoritie.
Same man. I always thought Megadeth was meh but that was because I never actually sat down and LISTENED to them (I was just hearing them, if you know what I mean). Since then, even though I love Metallica as well, I prefer Megadeth.
😎 same here 🤘 Dave Mustaine is a musical total genius
MEGADETH; Dave really is a masterful guitarist/ metal music genius his style of metal singing is very unique and cool I’m glad MEGADETH EXISTS!!
@Deplorable Cat Sellout is such a loaded word, meant really as a derogatory comment. Newsted commented on that with his famous quote, to paraphrase, "Yeah we're sellouts, every night, every show.." But seriously, Megadeth was not without their criticism for Cryptic Writings, and especially Risk. But who can blame Megadeth? They chased an audience. Hell, they would've kept Marty if they stayed on that path. But contrary to a lot of people, I loved all of those albums.
It's all good dudes. You don't have to pick any more.
I have a title for a new Megadeth album, and so appropriate for the times we are now living in, ''Fear Is The Currency Of Control''.
Shout-out to dave for having that facelift vinyl

Dave finds his way through anything. Music, addiction, cancer, lyrics?
I'm sure he'll find his footing. Breath and not think.
Dave is so right on point. who wants to hear about another pandemic song now or later. I got the privilege to be to see Megadeth at the Louisville palace in Louisville KY 25 years ago give or take a year or two. We sat in the upper balcony where in the palace there is not a bad seat, and there for the first time was my introduce to the angry ,long red headed Mr Dave Mustaine. .The fucking show blew me away, and made me realize that I am metal through and through. I will be turning 50 in January and I have a baby girl grandbaby on the way and Papa is going to teach her the wisdom and the way of metal. Thank you Dave Mustaine and every one in the Megadeth compound. You are the best., You will be spot on with the lyrics, find the beginning and take door 2 this time.......Kevin from Southern Indiana...
Fellow Southern Indianan here! Was it the RISK Tour with Static-x opening? If so, I was there too. Killer show!!!
@@334bfv3 thanks for telling me about that tour . It's been so long since that show and I am old as dirt. Thank you
i feel like the theme of the album (black plague, supposedly) is relevant to the pandemic and other current events without being blatantly about that topic. im hoping for some classic mustaine philosophy, maybe about how history repeats itself, or like he said here behind every mountain is another mountain. so excited for the new album to come out 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
I love you Dave. Fight hard man.
You'll be fine Dave,I wish that you come out of this as strong as you did before,I know it,this is nothing for you
Good political lyrics are like horoscopes. They need to be vague and abstract enough that they can ring true for almost anyone. Dave has generally done a good job of that his whole career, which is why it's no surprise that he's afraid of dooming his work with early irrelevance by making the lyrics too specific and of-the-moment. It's always a shame to see talented guys literally wasting their time in the spotlight on petty squabbles that will be totally forgotten in just a few years.
Dave Rock on bro! 🤘🥁🤘DC
Dave's lyrics have left the esoteric space where it could've been much more fucking entertaining, not the news, not the fucking pandemic, we're all so totally over this bullshit and sick to death of it. don't be another "me-to" media source... step out and above to make something colossal and far reaching. We have so much candy information rotting our fucking teeth we depend on the poets of metal to stretch our minds to see past the horizons of limitations set by "the ones who appose us" and aim to restrict us... I am so glad I grew up when metal was metal and knocking the fucking teeth out was something that came naturally and perfectly, because we were breathing by it... not trying to make "something" to "seem" like it... I get it, you're older, richer, none-the-wiser, sympathizer, you need fucking lyrics Dave... I COULD BLOW YOUR FUCKING MIND! If the well is dry; it's a connect to the other side; the parallel dimension where infinite knowledge, wisdom lives, no space or time, all truth, all power... no lack... no death.
Regardless of whether you like the music, his book is awesome.....
I think Dystopia was just a clear announcement about todays world!! Thats freaking impressive!

Dave does t look the healthiest here, and I’m kind of surprised to see Alice In Chains Facelift in the back behind Dave
thats why he wrote i wanna be an astronaut i wanna i wanna
Man he looks 80..drinking and rock n roll effect
I think cancer and extensive chemo treatments may have a "tiny" bit to do with how he looks too.
He had a decent run though. He was still looking pretty much the same until the last few years
Dave's lyrics have always been intelligent, thought provoking, and at times eerily prophetic. There's no need to write a new song about today's social/political climate, he already nailed it over 30 years ago on Hook In Mouth. The PMRC bullshit was only the beginning of our leaders' attempts to deprive America of it's First Amendment rights. We thought a warning label was the end, but it was only the start of what we see today. Dave told us..."the worst is yet to come!" And here we are.
@Dave Scott Mustaine Hello Dave. I wasn't sure if your reply was meant for me or to everyone who has commented. So to answer your question, I'm doing great and hope you are as well.
@Dave Scott Mustaine This actually is an account my wife Regina and I use (she's the computer savvy one), hello my name is Tim. I've been a Megadeth fan since I first heard Peace Sells back in '87. I turned Regina into a fan before we got married....LOL. I got see you guys perform twice in Asheville, NC and once in Knoxville TN. Got to hang out with you backstage before the concert at the Knoxville show. That was the Cryptic Writings tour, Jimmy had just joined the band if I remember correctly. We've actually met a couple times more at Summer NAMM in Nashville. Last year at Blue Ridge Rock Fest my band Citizen Kane played the Saturday 6:00 slot, Megadeth was on at 8:00. You guys sounded incredible. It's really cool to hear from you, I'm so thankful you beat cancer and are back doing what God put you on Earth to do. After meeting you a few times and really enjoying our conversations, when I heard the news I was literally heartbroken. I prayed for you through the whole thing and to see you back is such a blessing. Got to admit it was a little surprising to get a reply from you, probably was a little surprising for you that I'm using a UA-cam account with my wife's name on it, so maybe we're even...LOL.
Hmm. Doubt. a TLDR of Megadeth lyrics is a nasally voice going : "I hate the government!"
huh, i just watched that video today!
Yeah. I mean what else would they write about? Pizza and headbanging? No thanks. Megadeth doesnt need to copy those terrible unoriginal bands.
Real Megadeth fans love Mustaine lyrics and topics.
woah cool this was on my birthday
Damn kind of hyped up for the new album if it’s gonna be similar to the early Megadeth records
He should write a song about how it feels to be turning in Ozzy Osborne.
Dave looks like a very old man now after the treatment and age but he's still rockin on
Dave... say it man. We will all back you up. The idiots are loud, but I believe they are actually outnumbered.
Come on Dave. Don't let the PC babies hold you back. Say what's on your mind. Your fan base is hardier than the average latte sipping Mercedes Marxist.
Stifle yourself, trumpy
Some of us grew up together
Of course it's hard to write lyrics in todays climate, someone will get butthurt that you said a word they don't like.
Yep, this exactly.
I don't think that's Dave's problem. He's never given a shit about people's feelings before. Why start now? He's almost 60. He's too old and set in his ways to change.
You mean like the religious right in the 80's that thought everything was satanic? 🙄
Yep, just like the left today that thinks everything is racist
@Shockheadd45 What power does the "right" have in today's social climate? Oh wait, none. The left literally determines what can be or can't be said, done, etc. in every medium today. The "right" is no longer a thing and hasn't been since the 90's. What you are referring to are classical liberals vs. radical liberals. Everyone who doesn't follow political correctness or snowflake philosophy is a classical liberal. Everyone that gets offended by a "scary word", is a radical lefty. It's that simple.
It isn't a left vs. right thing, it's normal people vs. snowflakes.
Dave needs to talk to Trey Parker and Matt Stone and borrow some of their creativity ....LOL
