Props for using a flexible funnel. I like to stuff a disposable rag (bag or box of rags) under the oil filter before placing the flexible funnel.

Just thought I should point out that the oil capacity since (at least) 2022 models is 2.2 quarts for the FR651, per the manual. I believe older models with the FS600 took 1.8.

I have a X350 and live in the south. According to the owner's manual, I should use 30W oil, but all of the maintenance kits I've seen online come with 10-30 oil.

With the x350 being built for fairly large properties what would you consider alot of hours,if you were maybe gonna buy one used? I'm looking at a used one that was traded in at my local dealer. Its 6 years old and has 295 hours on it and has a 48" deck. They're asking $2900 for it. It looks to of been garage kept and is in nice condition. A new one is around $4600 right now and I just dont have it. I mow my place,my sisters 2.5 acres, and my daughters property and really like the reviews I've seen on these mowers. In a mechanical kinda guy and I know I'll end up replacing spindles, belts, pulleys and such ,but as long as the engine and tranny are solid. I know the Kawasaki engines have a good reputation. Would you consider buying it at that price or settle for a 100 series?

Hi Cipher! Thanks for the question. Without seeing / testing the unit, it’s hard to determine if the price is valid. Having said that, it’s been fairly well-loved at 300 hours and $2900 seems like a lot - but these do hold value and are a giant leap from a 100 series. This all comes down to personal preference and willingness to accept a used unit for less… or.. pay a premium for the “new-in-box” experience! Sounds like you’re doing a lot of mowing, so looking into the x350 is a wise idea. I would stick with that model if I had 3 lawns to mow! I will say these are very maintenance friendly for belt changes, and any other routine service you will perform. Not sure how long you can hold out to see if another 350 comes to market around early Spring?

Hi Gemini, it’s the same price on 🦌 website. However it appears price has increased by a few $$…. Now listed at $61.45.
In any case, it’s the OEM kit, so you’re getting the good stuff!
