Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 сер 2024
- This is part one of a series of Documentary style videos about all of the guitars used by Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters throughout the history of the band. I take a deep dive through photos, videos, interviews, and live performances to piece together the history of the band through the guitars used. This installment covers Dave Grohl's early years as a guitarist through the recording of the band's second album "The Color And The Shape"

Part 3?
Great video! looking forward for the next part!
Pat Smear would need a series all to himself. Gibson TV should have him on the collection.
Doesn’t he play hagstrom though?
@@ravenousdragon9222 For his signature yes. But he's got a substantial guitar collection of other brands.
Great video with actual photos and videos. Nicely done!!!
This video is brilliant! Keep them coming man
this is beautiful. amazing job!
Well done mate, awesome video
I’ve been a huge fan of Dave Grohl from Nirvana till now! I have two Gibson Explorers and an RD artist. Ive been playing FF songs the first time I heard Exhausted on Pearl Jam’s Self Pollution radio broadcast! My first show was April 1995, the Watt Tour! FF Self Titled album wasn’t even out yet! Anyways, I have to say I think you nailed it! I can’t think of anything you missed! Great job and I’m excited to see the next Part! My favorite guitars are obviously the Explorers, the RD, the SG/Les Paul Custom (3 Humbuckers) and the Trini Lopez which I don’t have but I did watch your video on your replicas and that could be a way I could go or maybe just buy a new one from Gibson. I think they’re around 5K.
Hey man great series. I love the Foo Fighters got to see them in 2017 on the concrete and Gold Tour in Columbia South Carolina. And they have played some amazing guitars over the years. I know you're going to cover it but the guitar that Pat plays in the Rope video with an amazing looking guitar also the one that Pat plays in Monkey Wrench is a really cool-looking guitar. I hope you cover those. While I have subscribed to your channel man. Foo Fighters forever
Thanks for making all these great video's
Great video!
Eagerly waiting for part 2!
It’s coming soon!
Doing the Lord's work here man! Thank you so much for that!! Must've been a huge effort.
Cool video dude! thanks ✌🏼
Great video, looking forward to part 2 :)
when is the next part coming out?
love the video btw
Yeeeeeeesszxzz! Been looking for something like this.
I had never had the chance to see them live, now that Taylor is dead I'll never be able to see the whole band...
😞✌🏾rest in peace Taylor
My wife is the major FF fan but i've seen them in San Diego. Great live show and they give it all.
Taylor was a dynamo protege. I'm curious to see who will replace him for their upcoming shows.
Awesome thanks 😊
Great Video, could you make a video about the amps of the Foo Fighters? That would be interesting too! Rock on!
excellent video!
greetings from argentina 🇦🇷
That is one haggard blind. Great video
You get so used to Dave using the trini/ dg335s that it looks so weird seeing him play les Paul’s , explorers and the rd
Awesome video man 👍
Hope to see you make a documentary on guitar pedals for each ff members in the future :)
I remember seeing you play in Faces Turned Ashen! I wondered what you've been up to since!
Very nice
Really enjoyed that. Look forward to the other parts!
Pls continue this
Dave used the tobacco burst in the Rush rock n roll hall of fame induction ceremony in 2013
I recently bought a ES335 Chinese Artist in red, but it has F Holes rather than the diamond pattern, and a standard style head stock. I’m looking for a replacement Trini neck to put it onto it and keep it with F holes, dubbed the ‘Foo Fighter’ holes. I went for the red colour, rather than the black one, because I saw Dave playing the red one when they covered Let There Be Rock, and I’m a huge AC/DC fan, so it made sense to go for the red one. My second issue is I’m a lefty, so it’s difficult to find anything, but I have found a Chinese blue coloured, lefty Dave Grohl replica which I think I can almost afford if I don’t eat for 2 weeks which I’m pretty much prepared to do and it’ll be the last guitar that I buy for some time.
Thanks a lot for making this! it's a gem for guitar needs like me !
thanks
Hey man, Love these! what number trini do you have? I see its a 2014 model, mine is 99/250 :)
Can you also do a show on guitars used by Green Day? And other rock bands? :)
what about the famous see through guitar?
5:01 that guy seemed really offended lol
Nice work! Looking forward to the rest of the series. A question I have is what is the real reason of 3 guitarists? Is there a real change or improvement in the sound after Pat came back?
The addition of a third guitarist might seem a little redundant, but from what I can tell they have been utilizing the three guitar attack since wasting light. In the “Back and Forth” documentary Dave talks about the differences in their three playing styles, mentioning how he mostly plays a straight up rhythm, Chris plays more intricate leads, and Pat adds a ton of “beef” to the sound.
Over the years as they play bigger and bigger shows and the band starts expanding, having pat as an extra guitar in the mix really fills out the sound, and provides a backup for if Dave wants to drop out to focus on singing. Not to mention, Pat is a total badass! Lol
Thanks for watching!
Loved this video. I think I saw your post on a forum when I was trying to figure out what Pat Smear was playing on SNL and Howard Stern recently. It looks like a red Les Paul double cut but with sharp cutaways (like a kessel). I hope you can find out more about this amazing guitar. Some folks think its a "Micro Kessel" Whatever it is, it is BEAUTIFUL!
Howdy! That was likely me that was talking about the Micro Kessel lol!
That guitar will definitely be making an appearance on a later installment. Keep an eye out for part 2 coming soon!
@@JEEJ_MUSIC Okay so he played it again at the Madison Sq Garden show. Do you know if its a Micro Kessel or a Mini Kessel? I've seen one collector onlne that has a prototype and he called it a "Mini". Man, I have to find one of these.
So good man, I always watch the 2 parts all the time. Can you do same for amps/pedals (of Dave, Pat, Chris and maybe Franz) please?
lakland bass?
You look familiar! Are you on reddit?
I don't even play my Trini Lopez, Don't want to damage it.
