I agree with the lady about the uncomfortable feeling when they fly over. We live by a small airport and every time I hear the planes above, I think please land safely. I can't get rid of that story in San Diego where the plane crashed on a house and the UPS driver at the stop sign was at the wrong place wrong time and died in his truck from the flames of the crash. You just never know these days.
Keep in mind an airport like that might have 50,000 or even 100,000 operations per year going on. And it can go what? 10 years? 20 years without a single accident? Millions of takeoffs and landings with no issues whatsoever. You are far more likely to die in a car crash.

People are just paying more attention. There are millions and millions of small aircraft flights every year and the vast majority never have any problems. The GA airport I use has 200,000 operations per year! That's a lot of takeoffs and landings. It has been about 10 years since the last fatal accident. That's two million takeoffs and landings with no issues whatsoever. More people get hurt if two million cars drive on the highway every day.
That plane crashed right in front of the former site of the Bon Temps police station from True Blood and Lamar from GTA 5 was the hero. Crazy coincidence!

My dad used to be a member of the Hawthorne flying club at that airport. I used to worry whenever he went to fly with his flying club friends. They would fly to Big Bear for lunch, etc...
I lived near the Wright Patt Air Force Base in Ohio we had Planes fly over our house many times a day it was Awesome to live there I miss that a lot. My Dad Knew the Planes By their Sound only. he worked on Planes in the Air Force and my Brother worked on ABRAHAMS Tanks in the Army.

Many of these planes are old , that's why they crash every day. They overregulated planes in hope to make them more safe but it caused the airplanes to become so old and become expensive to do any fixing and require m&p certified technicians to do the simple repairs. Those people charge tremendous amount of money for simply opening and closing screws on the plane
