That was the motivation for me making this series. In my opinion, these are the best dimensions for a show aquarium. It provides adequate space for the fish to swim back and forth and deep enough for hardscape and a variety of plants. I can’t wait to share my progress. Stay tuned!
I considered it, but didn't believe it was necessary. I’ve purchased aquarium stands in the past built by big box pet stores who won’t be named that didn’t include that feature. I thought my robust 2x4 stand would suffice. Only time will tell.
@@Splashaquatics good luck man. I just built my own stand just like you but i wrapped it in birch wood and stained it black. But my floor is very uneven so i had to lift the front of the stand by half an inch almost.

You dont need to put a foam mat thats what the trim in the bottom of the tank is for. Why didnt you put a piece of plywood on top ?
