I'm trying to figure out what to do when the previous button has ripped out and theres a big hole left, like on this pair of jeans. He put the new button right next to the hole, but it just seems like as the previous hole unravels it will cause the new button to rip out as well?
My mom has a set like that I use now and then. Most important what I've learned is having a really sturdy underground that doesn't move, like a concrete floor or and anvil (so concrete floor in my case 😂)
I wish i could hem, i have lots of jeans that drag 🤣. I do own a nice sewing machine and i even took classes. However, sewing takes patients, and attention to detail, both of which I lack. Cheers
That's good info to know... especially with the Holiday's here... I might pop a few buttons! lol.. Nice fix, Mr. Joe!
Great video on button repair. You never really think about that. Thanks Joe!
I just use the screw ones and put a wee drop of superglue in the screw hole before I tighten it.
Seems like to back piece should have a larger surface area like a washer to keep it from pulling through the material.
Great ideal. That would work on my liberty overalls. Thanks 😊 🙏
Nice fix Joe!
Thanks. I was skeptical at first, but i think it turned out to be a solid fix. Cheers.
The one you called a "screw" is ringed, not threaded.

I'd guess darning would be the best fix. Here is a video I found. Good luck. Cheers. ua-cam.com/video/63v-BykSWL0/v-deo.htmlsi=kfWBYSNayRbw8SP5
that's not a button repair, it's a button replacement
Good point. Cheers

How about a fender washer on the back side for more support?
Good idea, if i get some time tomorrow, ill see if i can find some washers and some old jeans to test the idea. Cheers
I never liked those fasteners. They are prone to fail when my large girth presses against them and adds tremendous force to the backplate. =D
Do you also do hems? I’ve got some jeans that drag the ground in back!…lol

AvE: tippy tap tap…
😂😬👍
Lol...AVE is great 🤣. Cheers
Honey what are you watching? The guy from Joe’s Shop is putting a button on his wife’s jeans. Why are you watching that? Cuz it’s Joe’s shop. Oh.
😁👍
