My friend said to me " I don't know what's wrong with me, I think I'm a teepee, I think I'm a wigwam." I told him, relax, your 2 tents. Please use this as another dad joke lol
You are blessed with a Dad that is willing and able to help. To me the good natured banter shows friendship not lack of respect. I worked with my Dad most every day and we had that same dialogue. I loved and respected him as much as any son could. It was just our way of making the day go faster.
From one Frank to another, Great job working with the kids. The trusses came out great, you work very well together. It won't be long and the garage will be finished hopefully before the snow. God Bless
that looks amazing..your dad is a true treasure..so special to watch the way the 3 of you get along and work so well together..God bless you all and stay safe.
Excellent job setting the rest of the garage trusses, so you can start getting the roof on to be able to seal it up for winter. Love you guy’s channel, be safe, stay healthy, God Bless everyone.
We call it crown land here in Australia too. Shed is coming along really sweet. Isn't it good to feel that you've done a good days work out when your tired, sleep comes very quickly after food. Stay safe.
Great job and quite an accomplishment,Jeremy ,Frank and Ashley! Be very proud of the things you have done, you do it right and not something many could accomplish!Take care and stay safe!
Your dad Frank is awesome that must be great to be able to work with them and build a garage something you guys can look forward to in the future that's so cool
A good ground guy, or gal, is a great asset to any job if they know carpentry and also can anticipate what is needed next as far a cut wood, nails, supports, etc. And while doing all of that, keeping the area clean so the work can proceed without any accidents. She seems to know her way around a saw and a pneumatic nail gun. Prettiest "ground gal" I ever saw on a job site!!
Love seeing those trusses going up. And you made it look so easy! But I know it was a lot of work and I’m sure your bodies will feel it later. Looking forward to seeing the roof going on.
Lot of satisfaction in getting a job done. I realize you aren't through by any means but as someone once said " you have to eat an elephant one bite at a time" manual work is good for the soul. Good job folks!
I’m a contractor, and I haven’t used nails in many years. It’s a lot faster, and the project is very much more sturdy by using torx head ceramic coated deck screws for every part of the build.
It's called crown land here in Oz too. My kids had so much bush to play in too. They built forts and tree houses and had to watch out for snakes and wild pigs - a good life.
It's looking good when it's done it's going to really look good and then you'll have a garage especially when it's when it snows so stay safe be careful up there and God bless and I'm glad you guys are okay 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
Again a great job, I was worrying about gey=tting the last trusses up but you me how good you are. Makes me jealous as I had a father that wouldn't let "women" do that kind of work.
Hi are you guys still on your original 70 acre homestead? Watched a video where you said you were selling to be closer to family doctors. Just started watching you guys . thanks have a Great day
You said the magic word “pie”. You all make it look easy, I know it is NOT. Wonderful work and great video making. Please keep at it.P Gilhooly Corpus Christi, Tex.
Front and back truss has to have vertical support or all of trusses can be of same shape ? (my garage package supplier gave me all with same shape on trusses ) , please update me on it ,thanks
Just a little fyi:go get you a bag of sea salt or pool salt the finer the better take 2 or 3 cup and mix it with a hot bath it will help take out the sore muscles i do it every day iv been able to got from 100 pain pills a week to 2 every few months.it works great i take a milk bath a couple times a week so my skin don't dry out i use the powder milk hope this helps y'all feel better
Looking great guys! We have state lands and federal lands here in the states. Pretty much the same as you guys call crown land. I’d imagine there are a lot of different restrictions on those lands in either country. Know for sure here in the states.
Professional way to get trusses up: Run 2x12s, flat down the center of the garage, same level as the top plates. Temporary 2x4 scaffold to hold up 2x12s. Nail a couple of 2x4 lookouts on the end wall, opposite the garage door. Stack one truss at a time, peak up, on the lookouts, proud of the top plates. One man on the walkway reaches down and pulls the truss up on the top plates, walking backward all the way to the garage door side. Drop the truss on the walkway and drag another one. Repeat until all trusses are spread out in position on the top plates and the center walkway. Plumb and nail your 2x6s against the end wall to get the first raised truss plumb . Raise the next truss and nail in place, repeat until finished. All the trusses laid flat on the plates and walkway will give you a place to walk and nail in each new truss. Walk on the flat side of each truss.
Great progress...had to look up the “topping off” of a building tradition...something about appeasing the tree gods?? Have you seen that being done? Also I think there is some beer drinking involved with it...,anyways, looking outstanding!!!
@@MBFModernHomesteading Ha, there should be like a walk through inspection, after putting up the trusses, with a beer in hand. I’ve seen the topping off of a building where they nail a tree branch at the most top part of the building. Good episode...btw, I bought the wrong hammer weight,...a 16 oz instead of a 20oz. What size hammer do you have? Looks pretty stout.
Are you wearing the Rode Wireless Go mic? I've got the same one I use in my home studio. I'm a professor and have had to do more recordings this year than normal (wonder why?). Something I do periodically is toward the beginning of a scene... I'll clap so when I'm doing editing I'll see the spike from all Audio Sources and can more easily sync the audio to the video. Have been binge watching your channel the past few weeks. Enjoying your journey, thank you for taking the time to bring us along.
Hope you are having a great weekend! Check out our Store! teespring.com/stores/mapleberry-farm-clothing-store
Thank you !

You all are a joy to watch. Thanks a good looking man cave. God Bless
What will your roof pitch be. Like Michigan where I grew up, you probably have to consider the snow load.
5/12, same as the home.
Enjoy your videos and your vision. Keep up the good work.
Rich at Snow Mist Farm.
Thank you :)
So excited for you kids to get your garage/shop. It will be a game changer.

Great video guys. It's looking great. Before you know it it will be finished.
Why no Hurricane straps (join trusses to walls) Are they not code in your area?
Will throw them on later.

Great success! Congrats! Your dad is incredible!

Looking Good
Awesome video. really liked the music, Family is the only way to build
good job on the trusses and hope you get it covered before the snow starts and it can happen anytime soon here in the northeast
I’m sure it feels good having those trusses up. You had to wait long enough for them. Thankful that you’ve had help installing them too.
Hi are you guys still on your original 70 acre homestead? Watched a video where you said you were selling to be closer to family doctors. Just started watching you guys . thanks have a Great day
Thanks and we decided not to sell. And happy to have you here.
A very nice Video, best regards from Ernst From Germany
Do You save any money using Trusses?....traditional framing gives you storage space in the attic area.
Not sure, we didn't price the wood building our own. But wood is crazy expensive right now.
I’m a joister and we actually walk in the 2x6 or 2x4 wall depending on the wood

After the garage is finished. You should build Sam a playhouse. I'd let her pick out the design and the interior decorations.
Big shout out to frank you rock sir
Beautiful building. You guys are some badass builders.
Congrats on getting them up it looking good.
Front and back truss has to have vertical support or all of trusses can be of same shape ? (my garage package supplier gave me all with same shape on trusses ) , please update me on it ,thanks
All of the trusses have to have the same pitch, the only difference is the gable end trusses are built different to allow you to sheet in the ends.
We need a hoody that says WWFD? (What would Frank do?) Awesome to see how fast the trusses went up!
Looking good, you will have it water tight soon.
GOOD DAY MAPPLE BERRY FARM..
Good day bizzud.
I’m learning a lot from you guys.
I see you found the one you have been watching for! The last one! Good job.
