Looking good Jeremy and Ashlie. You two make a great team. Having fun and being productive at the same time. Alls that’s left is Sam supervising! lol Great light hearted content and thanks for sharing your journey. Good health, staying safe and your faith is getting your dreams coming true. Mike
It is a Happy day to see both sides of the roof on your new workshop to keep the bad weather out! Love you guy’s be safe, stay healthy, God Bless everyone. The New roof look’s great, glad the wind didn’t get the best of you.
Boy that has to feel good to finally have a roof on it. Love the funny banter back and forth LOL! Very hard work for sure but the humor helps you through it. You two work so well together!
Don’t worry Jeremy l did the same with the foam strip it’s a how to do got ya. Plus my extension ladder fell off and my battery died on my drill then the wind picked up almost became a kite. That will make any how to doers shake their head. All of you have an awesome week.
Lol. I love the way you guys get along and you’re both just so relaxed and cool with everything. I’m used to working with complete control freaks or people who just like to do everything wrong. Are usually have to sit there and bite my lip the whole time or just end up doing everything myself. Lol. You guys just go out and you get things done and it’s all good and you have fun. Lol. It’s more like hanging out with friends then really working. Lol
Wow great roof, great work !!!! What a team !!Looks so good, under roof sure helps. Thanks for super videos, what real entertainment🥰Lookin like winter now. Still warm in crazy Texas. PG , Texas. We thank you so much for frequent postings.
Such good work, both of you! I like how the rain held out till you had the metal done! Looks beautiful! Glad no one was hurt when the metal blew! Look fwd to seeing more on the Garage!
Ashley you just can’t win with some people. They’re either complaining that you have a bad husband that makes you work so hard or they complain that you are a bad wife that doesn’t help her husband. Good thing you don’t have to care what they think. You’re living and working a great life as a family and have probably gotten more done then they have their whole lives. You and Jeremy ROCK WORKING TOGETHER GETTING THINGS DONE AND HAVING FUN WHILE DOING IT !!! Take care and Thank You for sharing !!
I think you both are doing an awesome and amazing job on the roof and under layment. Right now the weather in Northern British Columbia is 10 C, S 37 and Gust 55 plus.
You two are having fun working together and getting the roof done. I'll bet half the naysayers couldn't do the job themselves. Enjoy life as it comes you are getting the job done before the snows come. Be safe and God Bless your family. Haven't heard any "Frank" words today. LOL
You guys are amazing .. such stamina and energy ..I don't even know you and i am proud of you lolol .. I wish you the very best in your new happy home .Seems you have made wise choices to build nice and rural away from the urban sprawl and hectic city smog . Again Best of luck and love ...take care !!
Wowzers no wood pannels, this is cool, heck yeah.. Love your twos attuted & enthusiasm, Jeramy please be careful on the roof, we want you safe for yrs to come an id miss your jokes, you come up with some the greatest 😊👍👍
Fun fact: In Denmark, the underlying plastic under the roof needs to be of a type, you can't fall through. There are some kind of fibres in both directions in the plastic. Some just put up a metal net, that is biild for the same purpose. That's mainly used in farmer's stables, where leaks are not that big of a deal. It needs to be there, so that future repairs and access to the roof can be done safely.
Congrats on the roof which is probably the most challenging item in any building. The wind didn't help! Lots of sun was nice eh. Just a USA friend and DJT guy Ron
You all have a great week also, you guys always bring a smile to my face!! I love how you guys work so good together!! Stay warm and safe, we got a little snow last night here in Ohio!! See you guys on the next video!! :)
If you covered the triangle part on the front and back of your garage near the roof with the clear plastic plexiglass/corrugated siding you would have plenty of light inside the garage. Might be cheaper than partial/plywood to get it closed in.
If you put clear polycarbonate in the gable ends (like DIYferrent did) you will have loads of natural light in there; it saves your power and is actually healthier to work in. Garage is looking great! And I love the banter!
Looking good guys.i really hope everyone appreciates actually how much you two are doing, and it’s not easy. Standing and monkeying around on ladders, trusses and girders ain’t easy on your body. I just finished my ultimate duck house and it’s a 16’ tall A-Frame bunkie, just for my ducks!!! The work on the roof was very fatiguing, almost to the point of cramping up and falling off. Be safe up there Jeremy. All your hard will pay off in the end and like myself, you feel so super accomplished every time I complete a project. Glad you guys got the metal before the snow. I remember Woolco too 😂 have a great week guys.
It really is unfortunate that you were not able to get started on the Garage at least a month earlier. Working in the autumn weather is going to suck. You are both troopers though and getting it done.
Here is a little FYI especially in cold weather and a hammer stapler before loading the staples spray a little PB Blaster or if you don't have that a little WD 40 in the hammer part of the stapler before loading it up . It will make Life on the roofing Deck go a heck of a lot easier and a lot faster . It has worked for me since 1991-92 and on every project I have done since then.
Good job to the both of you, awsome job and great team work ,you saved at least 10 gran for doing the roof on your own. I'm impressed with your work ,God bless you and your family Love and Aloha
No ..he is doing it right, your way one would have to walk on it up and down dragging sheets over it hoping your feet find the strapping and not slipping or tearing it.
@@johnmccormick175 If you want it to leak you do it like that. The horizontal overlap perpendicular to the slope is called shingling which is because that's how shingles work, letting water drain down from one barrier on to the top of another so that water would have to travel upward to get inside. With underlayment running up and down, the overlaps let water through the barrier if it can move sideways at the same time as it is going down. Very bad practice. The only saving grace is that the steel overlaps with a rib on the panel so water will have a hard time getting through that but the point of an underlayment is to have a backup water barrier under your roofing material. You're not getting that when you install it wrong. I'm going to build a roof with 3 or 4 moisture barriers, all of them installed properly. Zip sheathing with properly taped and caulked seams to replace the function of an underlayment, then a shingled radiant barrier which is also a moisture barrier and possibly a dimple membrane drainage plane/air gap to make the radiant barrier work and all under standing seam roof that has no exposed screw fasteners. That's what you do if you want a roof that won't leak until the galvalume steel rusts away. The wrong way will leak as soon as the first rain after one fastener seal fails. For a garage, you might not care. For a house, if your insulation and framing get wet and don't have a good way to dry, that will lead to rot and mold. No one wants rot and mold, some people just aren't farsighted enough to do it right the first time.
It can go both ways it is up to the Installer. With heavier snow loads some say it better from Top to bottom than side to side. It is even better when their is going to be little to no heat in the winter
Nice. No bucks yet .my girlfriend got a 6 pointer the first Monday. Now my turn hopefully.the apples are so hard to find. They all sold out around here.I'm lucky I still got a few bags and crates.10 bags and 5 crates
I had a whole deal I was going to type but then a dipshidiot got me side tracked in the comments...lol looks awesome guys. The roof looks deadly..in more ways then 1. When that sheet started falling I thought it was going to cut to DEAD and start playing the music! Keep it up you guys rock!

This comment is spot on! I've been loving the new mics that catch all the talking better but didnt want to comment it again lol.
Thanks so much MaryAlics for the kind words :)
Absolutely love the jokes at the beginning of every video. The garage is really coming along.
You’ve got a nice looking building there. Good work. Thanks for the video. 👍👍👍❤️

Good Job guys....I don't think I could work so well with my husband....honestly you two get along so well.....
Enjoy the videos. Can’t wait to see the finished product and some of the work you all are gonna do in the new garage. God bless!
you and your wife work very well! and do a beautiful job together! !
A pair of channel locks and rope make it a lot easier hauling up the metal on your own, you have a free arm to grab wood on the way down!!!

Before I retired, I fitted acres of sheeting in the UK, we always fixed in the pan, and only put a short fixing in the lap.

Hello MBF family ☕️ happy Monday... have a blessed day
Up here in Canada they put the screws in the ridges so they don't leak when covered with snow.
If you covered the triangle part on the front and back of your garage near the roof with the clear plastic plexiglass/corrugated siding you would have plenty of light inside the garage. Might be cheaper than partial/plywood to get it closed in.
work. work work.......was funny as hell watching ashley try to corral that sheet in the wind.........think she held up pretty well!
If you put clear polycarbonate in the gable ends (like DIYferrent did) you will have loads of natural light in there; it saves your power and is actually healthier to work in. Garage is looking great! And I love the banter!
Thanks, the gable ends will be holding insulation in our ceiling so would be of no benefit for us, but thanks :)
good job on the roof and hope you get the cap on before the snow gets here.

Just found your channel. Hard work mixed with comedy my kind of channel. I used too do carpentry am retired now. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, happy to have you here :)
You two are great together, stay safe. God Bless.
Great job! Looking really nice...
Lots of work but it will pay off in the end. Nice this winter when the snow is blowing and you can be inside.

Shouldn't the underlayment be going gable end to gable end starting at the fascia and working to the peak?
No ..he is doing it right, your way one would have to walk on it up and down dragging sheets over it hoping your feet find the strapping and not slipping or tearing it.

So glad you got that roof up before snow
I'm glad your metal is there now . So glad .
Looks great Jeremy.
Peace and love you all, Tim
Wow, you guys are really independent. That roofing is tough to put up without staging and only two people. Doing mine yesterday and today.
Thanks, we try haha.
Have I missed the power going up or on ? Didn't see it in the last video in the back ground . hoping to see it going on 🥰👍
Not up yet, hoping by the end of the month.
I bet half the world envies your lifestyle there. Good on you all
Oh Wow love the look of that roof, I think i will do my Barn in that Color. Congrats on getting it up.
i used to have friends who were conjoined twins....they moved to England...
the other one wanted to drive.
The metal roof to be cut is easier with a circular saw just reverse the blade much quicker more precise. Job well done. God bless be safe. Jim
Thanks for sharing I think after watching you guys I will build my on garage👍👍
Coming along nicely. Almost time to consider the heating source (i.e. chimney?). cheers.
Chimney, yes...eventually.
Awesome job thank you for the video
Thanks for watching :)
The paper should go the other way so when water drips on it goes out
Making good progress there folks. Take care guys. Vaughn
Please say Happy B-day to Sam.. lovely family- God bless y'all.
Outstanding yaw too love it and birdies and pigs too
Ey amigo el lado blanco del papel va hacia abajo y el negro hacia arriba men haces al rrves lad cosas
No snow yet,Lucky!!!!
Nice. No bucks yet .my girlfriend got a 6 pointer the first Monday. Now my turn hopefully.the apples are so hard to find. They all sold out around here.I'm lucky I still got a few bags and crates.10 bags and 5 crates
Nice, the raccoons are doing a number on mine.
Lol ... nice 😁🏆 ..... good morning Ashley and Jeremy 😁☕
Lucky it’s just raining. We have about 6 inches of snow up north
Good job I did my house , garage , shed and pavilion by myself was a little rough wife was working day shift I was afternoon shift. But all worked out
Your laughter is great!! I needed that today!! Xoxo Sammi

Looking good you guys. Boom. Just think back when you had no outbuildings and no ‘dry space.’ Ha. Almost there now.
I know right! Thanks :)
I'm more impressed that you two would be doing it in the cold...I shutter all building projects until 75 degrees lol.
haha :)
Looking good guys.
Getting closer looking good.get that ridge cap on and keep the heads dry anyway
Hi there, I liked u attitude when working, which is ( having fun and achieving a milestone) good luck 👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏
When the party people said let's raise the roof, you guys took it seriously. Lol 👍😹
Here in Illinois we can buy metal with the vaper barrier felt paper already adhered to the metal
Great job in that wind well done
Punch a few holes near the bottom of your fire barrel. Air flow will allow it to burn better.

Great job guys. Can you paint the shipping container green, put a roof on it and use it for more storage?
We plan on cleaning that thing up one of these days :)
Love your sense of humour 🤩🤣🤩🇦🇺❤️🇦🇺❤️👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰 nice colour roof .
We literally have the same burn barrel settup in the yard...we got excited it actually went down to 68 tonite... lol
Good job !! You need a safety harness up there . Be careful both of you. God bless.
looking good... fine job before the snow flies
Great build. Instead of grinder, use nibbler however. Grinder overheats metal locally and burn anti-corrosion protection from sheet producer
Gotta use what is on hand :)

Congratulations 👏 you got that metal on before snow came down 👍.
Think of that metal as big "Razor Blades".Ashely stand clear once he has the sheet, dangerous if the wind or he loose's his grip on it.
Wow that was fast, looking good you two
Great job you guys! Get up there asap to finish up. Metal gets slippery when it gets dust on it.
Good to have a roof on before the snow flies🤩🍻
