Best match I've seen in a while, very high level from both
I love watching Cerundolo play. The way he goes from massive power sequences to a feathery drop shot is mind blowing. He is El Mago II in the tradition of Coria, also one of my faves from the past. CONGRAT!!!! As for Musetti, he has all the tools, just needs a smidge better matchcraft.
That was a brilliant match. Cerundolo has such remarkable power. Nobody can say he didn't earn it.
Not only power but also emotional management, he didn't panick, he got back as soon as he lost his service game in the third set, what a resourceful player.
@@julien5460 This didn't age well lmao see you soon tho!
Absolutely insane, and they both have to jet to Paris quickly to play the Olympics after this marathon final! This is crazy 🤯
The Olympics have already started..?
The Olympics has already started. These two probably did not qualify, perhaps did not play the David Cup, which is a requirement for Olympics.
@borisgurevich5504 They’re both literally playing right now as I’m typing this.
@@matiasmedinadeoliveira2059 oh makes sense. Otherwise why would they play in clay?
He held his nerve so well in that tiebreak. It just takes one good week to turn your season around, way to go Fran!!!
One hand back hand targeted over and over by cerundulo. Smart tactic.
Grosse surprise 😊
That forehand from Cerundolo is fire!
When he is in a good day, cerundolo´s forehand is maybe one of the best of the circuit! insane
Musetti does himself no favors standing next to the ballboys, he has the mobility, finesse, and shot quality to move up into the court instead of creating from well behind the baseline
He stays back so he has longer time to wind up and hit back powerfully
There's nothing inherently wrong with standing deep on the baseline, especially on clay. The problem is his lack of weapons to make use of the deep position. Neither his BH nor his FH have enough pace or spin to make use of the deep position, which results in a lot of defensive points for Lorenzo, and being a One Hander can be tricky to be defensive
He did appear to run out of gas... So he took a defensive position.
Strange because he was mixing it up much better on the grass. Maybe if he stuck to his grass-court playing tactics, he could've made more impact here in the final.
To be honest, in modern tennis I think of 3 guys who didn't have a single handed backhand for a weakness. And I'm being generous towards Federer. So Federer, Wawrinka and Thiem. Wawrinka and Thiem just had exceptional wrist and swing power. Federer had the feel to make the mix up/slice game work. Kind of like Dan Evans in that sense except for Dan it is a huge weakness. Musetti is not one of them to me.
Particularly tough for Lorenzo when he's got to play a war here... and then immediately head for Paris to face a still-dangerous Gael Monfils. Francisco has the same turnaround, but he at the very least has a nice trophy to show for it, and his first-round opponent is a guy who mostly plays Challengers.
Wow WHAT a nerve-wracking match SO close match, but I thought Francisco might lose, but he somehow made 5-5, and held on his game every time he was behind. What a sweat victory! VERY well done indeed Francisco, you truly are fighter NEVER give up (!); as saying goes, it, the game, is NOT over until the final score W or L! Many congratulations Francisco, keep it going! US
Vamos Fran! 🔥 🇦🇷
Musetti just needed to believe in himself a bit more. If and when he learns not to squander opportunities, he can start winning some titles. Cerundolo has some great shots, but he often chokes under pressure. Musetti could have won this match fairly easily. But he needs to change his attitude. He can’t keep staying 3-4 meters behind the baseline. At this level, it’s not enough to be elegant or to make classy shots. You need to bring out the heavy artillery.
Well said!!!
Hai Ragione, troppo Convinto i Veri Campioni non Perdonano così poteva chiudere già 2-0 che fa pere de 1-2 maddaiiiii
Cerundolo didnt choke today, he rather fought back when musetti served fir the match. Gotta give him credit too imo.
Shut uuuuuuuuuup

Congratulations, Francisco! 🎉🏆
Wow!! In French Open, that Cerundolo was about to beat Novak was not fluke!
wtf
That was some CRAZY tennis from both of them throughout the whole match! Grande Fran!!!
That's a hell of a high level for a 250 tourney
Both Musetti and Cerundolo were amazing.
Once Cerundolo started timing the forehand he took over the match. What a weapon on this service. A pleasure to watch.
Hardly took over - it so close!
VAMOS FRAN CARAJOOO AGUANTE ARGENTINA A DEJAR AL PAIS EN LO MAS ALTO EN LOS JJO🇦🇷
Argentina ? Pais de cojones y putas
tennis is a forehand and serve sport exemplified no better than by the absolute unit that is Francisco's forehand
this is absolutely amazing match.
Gotta love Cerundolo's play and mental strength, well deserved win.
BIEN POR CERUNDOLO,ES UN GRAN JUGADOR. DEBE ESTAR ENTRE LOS 10 MEJORES DEL CIRCUITO...
VAMOS ARGENTINA,CARAJO !!
What a great match. Vamos Francisco!
Great match! Both played amazing 🎉
Partidazo! Felicitaciones!
Tremendo nivel de los
Dos ! La derecha de Fran
playing the one handed backhanded today is hard work
It’s all arm and no torso rotation. Probably tired Musetti out. You can see he started giving him moonballs after a while.
Tremendo partido. Terrible jugador Fran.
Rublev losing yesterday let me down but Cerundolo good clay court player
They have nearly identical skill sets. In the end, it becomes a test of wills and who performs best when it counts.
I will say one hand backhand has lets power as time goes on! I would not recommended it!
@@rubiconklbrutorowman7577 Two-handed backhand has advantages but power isn't one of them.
@@unknownvitster The 2 handed BH is obviously more powerful and under control than a single one especially on the long run. Many players playing single BH have problems with the wrist to deal with soon or later.
@@iansmirna5183 Federer never had problems with his wrist. Meanwhile del Potro’s career nearly got entirely derailed due to a left wrist injury (used for his 2HBH) that wouldn’t heal. He actually had to learn to hit a good slice so he didn’t need to use the 2HBH as much
@@iansmirna5183 Wawrinka and Gasquet hit their backhand as hard as any two-hander ever has. Fed hit a ton of rockets in his career. They don't have wrist problems. Technique is key. There's really nothing more to discuss.
Cerundolo deserves this win. so much talent. hope to see more titles for him & also Musetti.
Vamos Fran!!! 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
Musetti is a delight to watch. Epitome of elegance. His match against Djokovic at Roland Garros was perhaps the most exciting I've ever seen. He clearly wasn't firing on all cylinders last night. He could've ended the match earlier in his favour, became passive and allowed Cerundolo to call the shots.
Happy for you Cerundolo..💚🇵🇭
Exquisite match. Crazy how musetti couldn't serve it out
Great quality match, so versatile from Musetti and very brave from Cerundolo...
Grandeeeee Cerundoloooo!!! Partidazo
7:41 looks like family and friends are excited 😊 well deserved 👏 win 🏆
Cerúndolo in a good day, can beat anyone in the tour; Musseti needs to improve his mental strengh
Dang such high quality and high level tennis.
Yes! Love Cerundolo. Great game ❤💪
Cerundolo great championship
Llegó el día Felicidades Cerúndulo
Sehr lässiges Match! TOP!!! Bravo
Thank you video brilliant compliment
In all honesty Musetti had no rights to lose this match, but he somehow managed to do it. I might be harsh with him but with the amount of talent he has he just needs to do better than that. In that game we saw why he isn't a Top 10 player yet, during crucial moments he just lacks some mental strength, that killer instinct. (i think it's time to change coach btw, Sinner did it and look what happened)
He definitely needs to change his coach. He’s been with his loser coach for years now and it’s taking him nowhere fast. He seems emotionally attached to his team and his team seems to be depending on him for their livelihood without giving nothing that can help him reach his true potential in return. It just sucks to see a potentially great player stuck because of his stubbornness to change things around…
Sometimes you see two names and you just know it’s a good matchup.
For all the talk of Novak's demise, that he beat both of these guys on one leg (Fran) and 1.5 leg (Lorenzo) is just absolutely ridiculous. Musetti and Cerundolo are fantastic players, and their level in this match was absurd -- I'd venture to say this was the best final since Cincinnati 2023 (which was IMO a top-5 match all-time, including Slams).
Glückwunsch Cerundolo 🏆👍
Viva Latinoamérica cerundolo ! Muy bien ! Pal chorizo Europa !
Juego vistoso, alegre y efectivo.
I would like to know what was the speed of the forehand to conclude the second set, that was massive.
Well done Four Tet, you deserve it ;)
Man Cerundolo just obliterates the ball on his forehand side.
@@TeresaAbba 100% coincidencia. Amo ver a Musetti y a Dimitrov. Pero hoy hinchando por Fran.
👏👏👏 por Cerundolo!!!
a defeat that will certainly be very difficult for Musetti to cope with psychologically
Yes! 👍👍💪💪🔥🔥 Cerundolo ❤
Great match, all i can say
Good tournament Croatia 👍
Literally both of these guys have to go to Paris and play their first match at the Olympics tomorrow. Why could they not move the final earlier in the day?
Cause Berrettini was playing too today. I think that's the reason but I'm not sure
@@relahtnelnarF because umag weather, too hot.
@@agustincaiexcactly
@@agustincai damn, you sure it's because of that? Cause the temperature is very similiar between Umago and the Austrian tournament. It also says that at 8 p.m. it's still basically the warmest temperature of the day
@@relahtnelnarF clay during nights is 100% better to view, i recommend you to play in clay during night, its amaazingg the colors
great batlle !!!!!!
guys, thats just epic)
Shades of G. Coria in Cerundolo's game
G. Coria was watching the Nadal doubles yesterday. He looks younger than Nadal nowdays.
Bravo Ceru!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉
The brave attacker deserved to win!
spoiler blocker 🤟
That what definetely worth missing the Olympics
Musetti played so well but collapsed when he had to serve it out. Zverev level game.
CERUNDOLO.. 🏆💪🇦🇷
Musetti aiming to the moon on every shot. And nice choke at the end.
VAMOS FRANCISCO !!!!!
Musetti needs to work on his mental game. He always chokes in clutch moments.
Muchaaaaachooooos
Grande Francisco !!!
Vamos fran viejo y peludo nomas!!
Grande Fran! Musetti certainly has talent but legacy to our kids is over the talent: that double bounce unfair play vs. Alcaraz in Hamburg will persecute him forever unless he does some more effort to reverse the bad example... Despite of that, Cerundolo was HUGE&HUMBLE today, well deserved!!!
you mus be absolutely crazy if you 're still thinking about a thing that happened 2 years ago
This is wat mindset is all about... Thought musetti was hitting his prime but still couldn't cross over the line sadly
I love that these players are still rocking the wimby whites on clay. That is all.
thanks for dont spoiler the winner!
Musetti paura di vincere
Francisco Serundolo usta italijanu
Now musetti goes to Paris??
mUSsetie knew he didn't deserve the win. He stayed right in front of the fence and defended most of the time.
Lorenzo seems to get down as a title choker lately 😅
Musetti it reminds Tsitsipasa ;O
AAAANDD Musetti's choking again lmfao. Good job!
We Italians really hate finals LMFAO...
Double fault at a tiebreak is a crime
niiiiice 👏🏽
🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
Bien Cerundulo.
Dele nas for anyone that lost ….both deserved the title….ehat a war
first career title ??? player like Cerundolo??? holly molly
Third
Third
It's his third title, won Bastad in 2022 and Eastbourne last year
@@marcotita9204 yeah , I didn't heard well
