lol this is such a great scene. this is the beginning of the end of meadow/finn. she defends Eugene in the next scene: "Mr. Pontecorvo is such a nice man." haha one of my favorite lines in the series is "I knew that was comin'." such a small insult just escalates into a violent bloody assault. that line from vito reminds me of another great line from paulie. during Christopher's intervention in season 4, ade says that Christopher killed Cosette, her little dog. paulie asks, "why? was it barking?"
Knowing now that Vito was gay and looking back at this scene really brings out the " I knew that was coming" comment. He sounded relieved for that diversion, it took away from all the gay jokes and comments. He was probably sweating his ass off for a sec.
This scene goes further than meets the eye... When you watch the series twice, it is understood why Eugene behaved in this manner. Not long after watching this the first time, a few episodes later, it is revealed that Eugene is an FBI informant. He then commits suicide. This scene is most probably around the time Eugene is starting out as an informant. We can see that he isn't feeling well, which he disguises and blames the heat on. We can then see he overreacts and attacks little Paulie. Not long after this, we see how deep he is with the FBI. Another brilliant lead up by Mr. David Chase himself!

lol this is such a great scene. this is the beginning of the end of meadow/finn. she defends Eugene in the next scene: "Mr. Pontecorvo is such a nice man." haha one of my favorite lines in the series is "I knew that was comin'." such a small insult just escalates into a violent bloody assault. that line from vito reminds me of another great line from paulie. during Christopher's intervention in season 4, ade says that Christopher killed Cosette, her little dog. paulie asks, "why? was it barking?"

Knowing now that Vito was gay and looking back at this scene really brings out the " I knew that was coming" comment. He sounded relieved for that diversion, it took away from all the gay jokes and comments. He was probably sweating his ass off for a sec.

This scene goes further than meets the eye...
When you watch the series twice, it is understood why Eugene behaved in this manner. Not long after watching this the first time, a few episodes later, it is revealed that Eugene is an FBI informant. He then commits suicide. This scene is most probably around the time Eugene is starting out as an informant. We can see that he isn't feeling well, which he disguises and blames the heat on. We can then see he overreacts and attacks little Paulie. Not long after this, we see how deep he is with the FBI.
