Ed is so good at Pre-reading he guessed plot points months before they were even written by the Mangaka into the latest Manga chapters!

I think that's because both Ed and Akasaka are astute observers of human behavior, so they think about character development along the same lines.

@@rotmistrzjanm8776 true, well, that and the fact writters nowadays have less time, less manpower and less salary to make the movies/series as well, so i guess one can't expect masterpieces being released like they were back in the day.
what i meant is that while i disagree there is an argument to be made about "simpler" shows since a lot of the audience often don't understand more complex shows, like what happened to Mushoku Tensei

    • @mr.stuffdoer8483
      @mr.stuffdoer8483 5 місяців тому +3

I mean... there's not understanding a complex plot and then there's an MC who treats women like NPCs, gropes (to put it lightly) a minor, and gets a perfect life with all the women he lied to and groomed when they were children into being his romantic partners all while having a backstory that's more unbelievable than most fantasy shows. I can get behind redemption stories, but I kinda draw the line at banging a minor when you're 40. Comparing it to ReZero and MushoTen is just egregious. When Subaru treats them like NPCs the writer punishes him for it. Subaru acts like someone completely incompetent at social interaction and makes mistakes he has to fix because of it. When a 12 year old expresses romantic interest in him, he says "god you're so fucking cute," then goes back to the girl his age. He doesn't willingly hide the truth of his life and in fact desperately wishes to talk about it.
I'll admit I haven't even watched the show fully yet, but acting like Rudeus deserves redemption, much less a harem made up of the children he groomed, is fucking insane to me. Roxy is literally the only one I'd be fine with him getting with, and it's only if he were to actually open up about his reincarnation. With them both having young appearances with a 40 year old mind it is actually wild to me they went with a harem in the end. And frankly I think I'd prefer none of them getting with him in the end, he needs to learn how to live without romance first.
Also all three romantic interests being into him after the bare minimum of effort on his part makes them feel extremely shallow as characters, compared to Emilia, who still isn't entirely sure how she feels about Subaru after 2 full seasons.

      @@Ricardo_Rick 1. I plan to watch. I’m busy.
      2. Having seen his first Oshi no Ko reaction, I’ve come to realize he and I have very different views on the concept of reincarnation, which I strongly suspect will be his justification offered for statutory r@pe. He treats the character as though they weren’t reincarnated. For the Oshi no ko example, he seems to view Aqua witnessing AI’s death as a child who watched their mother die, ignoring the mental age of the character, as well as dismissing the core nature of him having decades of experience in coping with difficult emotions.
      3. I must also thank you for being the perfect example of everything that is infuriating about discussing modern fiction, by claiming people just don’t understand the story then refusing to elaborate in even the most moderate way, and completely dismissing the mere concept of discussion with perspectives outside of your own. You even dismissed things that have nothing to do with misinterpretation of a narrative, such as me claiming Rudy’s former life managing to break my suspension of disbelief harder than the concept of the isekai itself.

I've not read the manga, so I'm just speculating (also, please don't confirm or deny this if you know the answer), but my current guess is that the door in the ED is the door she had to sit behind while Ai died, only able to hear her final words, but never able to see her fully, including the unplesant aspects of Ai and her life. Just like Aqua cant stop her from bleedibg out in front of him, she can't open the locked door

Aqua said in season 1 that he might be "Aqua, haunted by the ghost of Gorou". If Ruby is still Sarina it's more because Sarina had lived so little that she more seamlessly became the seed from which Ruby grew.

47:40 one other thing to note is that when she claps, it syncs with a subtle yet ominous piano (?) "ting" in the background, THEN what appears to be a skeleton emerges as Aqua, yet wear a white blouse. It feels as if she did some sort of magic clap that made doctor Aqua come back from death.

1:57:40 This grimace on Ruby's face is just so fukn impactful and saddening. We see her giggling and grinning through 85% of the manga/anime up to this point. In the past few years I have been more and more concious of changes adaptations have made from source, and become more picky about how characters are adapted. I cheered when the mangaka stood up for themselves in this episode. It was awesome.
So many shows are dumbed down, simplified, or rushed. It's sad. Just this season My Wife Has No Emotion is falling victim to it. The whole premise of the manga is Mina - the robot wife - expressing something similar to emotion despite being a robot. In the manga her emotions are entirely implied by her actions and what other characters think, but the anime is spoon feeding us by literally writing on screen what emotions she is feeling - many of which i think are not aligned with how she was actually feeling in the source. The subtleness of the story is destroyed for simplicity. Not to mention the break neck pace preventing the viewer from absorbing anything.
I don't mind changes that need to happen to fit a new medium, but I can't help but feel as though many folks think dumbing down character motives is always a requirement.
I worry that too many authors are happy just to get an anime, and are afraid to involve themselves in production even when it doesn't meet their expectations. Or worse, they aren't able to intervene at all.
Hoping this season will provide me with some catharsis to that end. From what I've heard of Oshi no Ko and it's mangaka... I'm rather excited.

I love the new underlying philosophical concepts that we are introducing here. While the first season was an absolute masterpiece, i feel like the first season was obviously a build up towards a more intense conflict that will explore different aspects of the self, considering how flawed and complex Rubys and Aquas sense of self is. I am extremely excited for this season because you can clearly see these themes and concepts emerging. The complexity of the self and how it will be portrayed in Oshi no Ko, and the psychologidcal conflicts/realizations it will create will be nothing but captivating

48:45 A cadaver? Isn't it Dr. Goro's body with his Aqua head?
56:10 Well, if their dad knocked up a 15 year old Ai, either he was around her same age, and we already know that being a child actor/star is an extremely positive and healthy environment to grow up in, or he was considerably older than Ai, which would lead to the presumption that he has already been in the industry for a while, and if he is accepting of having unprotected sex with a 15 year old minor who is in that same industry, he likely has plenty of truma or "nurturing" which lead to such a choice.

This episode, despite being a bit slow, was really nice and I think set the mood well for the next episodes (I haven't read the manga tho, so maybe its the opposite and the manga readers might be going nuts rn lol). I personally think this play is going to change a lot of dynamics, maybe even reveal some character traits we haven't seen before, just because of how its getting structured (we literally have the two big rivals here, Akane and Kana).
Also I found it interesting that months passed by and only mini concerts happened with MEM, Ruby and Kana. Are they taking their time because of Kana, or is it some problem that rose up which we haven't seen yet? A lot of ongoing questions right now, I'm so excited for the next few episodes, and your analysis of them too.

Aqua's negative self-talk about his acting is actually pretty ironic, since he's always comparing himself to Ai, saying that he doesn't really feel the things he's portraying in his acting, but rather just making the expressions and using the lighting etc. to create the response the audience should have. Meanwhile, he seems to think Ai was a natural who's sparkling personality just came across from the inside, not realizing that she actually did exactly the same thing he does, calculating every expression to be exactly what her fans wanted to see without any of it coming from a natural emotion. She openly said as much when they first talked on the hospital rooftop, but I guess he was too busy being enchanted by her act to pay attention.

I don't know how the anime will adapt it. I don't know if it CAN, but if it does, the for one the studio are fuckin' madlads, and secondly mark my words. It will be hilarious. If we're talking about the average healthiness for both parties , I'd say Akane. She doesn't have the lifetime of abandonment issues and fear of obscurity, like Kana has. Akane could oeep ip with Aqua, match him, and support him to the end. I zee a relationship with Kana getting broken beyond repair, and then la5er, when what the issue was ge5s cleared up, and Kana tri3d to be with Aqua again, it ends up too painful or just too late. If a relationship with Akane were to peter out or implodez it would be after Aqua take his head, and the dynamic between them no longer fits what has been working until then.
