Also made me realized how much time could have been saved if there was a skip button all along lol. As someone who has never played this, and knows they never will, this is great. I just wanted to know about the plot/characters in general because I really enjoy seeing the content for it, lol. Kudos to all the hard work you put into this!
This entire video is only recapping everything that has been told to us by the game so far. There are a million other things hidden in the lore of artifacts and weapons like crimson with of flame artifacts set or the 5 musical instrument weapons that adds to the story of the manga which is an entirely different topic. Not to mention there’s so much about khean’riah we don’t know plus the books give us info on Celestia and where it comes from. Not to mention the whole subplot of the gnosis’
You're doing a real service here, because of how Genshin Impact's story is released piece by piece, it was really hard for me to remember what happened and I wanted a recap before I get into the Chasm and Sumeru. You did such a great job on this and I hope you know that because WOW this is a long video! I can't wait for the next one (because I remember how much I loved the Inazuma story)!
This was INSANELY helpful as someone who played day one, left for a year and missed a ton of events, then came back only to skip through a lot of the text dumps because I couldnt read the font on my TV since my eyesight was so bad and I just wanted to catch up. Thank you!
i’m sure this has been said before here in the comments, but the official manga expands on diluc and kaeya’s relationship and goes into detail about diluc’s past and gives some background as well on events taking place before we arrive, as well as showing/introducing characters not yet seen in the game. im not sure if you covered this since i’m only at jeans story quest part
No, thank YOU for having the footage. It was a god send and I'm extremely, extremely thankful! Don't hesitate to reach out if you ever wanna work on anything together in the future or need anything at all. You're the best!
I cannot believe how amazing this recap was. Like... it was so accurate, humorous, and not to mention nostalgic. It was honestly amazing sitting back and watching this and remembering the year i've spent with genshin. The first day i logged in, the awe at seeing mondstadt for the first time, the glittering eyes i had for all the cool characters *cough*kaeyaandxiao*cough*, and the emotional responses i had to certain scenes. The awe at the lantern right festival, the sadness of venti's story, the irritation at scaramouche wanting to kill us on sight. just.. wow. You've 100% gained a new subscriber.
Thank you for putting the work into this. I’ve been looking for a comprehensive retelling of the story those far and this video was it! Can’t wait for part 2!
Most heartwarming act is, on Klee's quest... I feel warmth... Alice is a very motherly mom for her. I feel like crying at the time I finish the quest. Klee is her everything. And Alice is the best mother in the world for her.
@@ezgidefile the fact that she bothered to outfit a whole unknown archipelago with machines to rise it up, invite most of the prominent mondstadt characters, each with their own personalised letter, somehow even got the anemo archon and Dvalin play along, all to make her daughter happy, I'd say is more than enough proof that Klee is her everything. The reason for her absence has to be very important, for her to stay separated from her daughter, when we know how much she's willing to do for Klee
just realized that in the Chasm story line, Lumine mentions that she's been too focused on the "Heavenly Principals" and with the first cut scene, the unknown god introduces herself as the "sustainer of Heavenly Principals". Didn't recognize that without this video! Neat!
I love how much relish is in your voice when describing pretty much all of Childe's quest over the ridiculousness, it really never gets old seeing the big bad eleventh Harbinger backed into these sorts of corners by his own determination to shield his brother's innocence 😅
Wow, this video is amazing! Even being 3 long hours, it kept me entertained through the ENITRE thing! Great job!!! I loved how you explained everything and it brought back great memories of the events when I played them!
I’ve just started playing Genshin about a month ago, so this was really helpful to see some of the stuff I’ve missed. This is really underrated, sending you lots of love!
Same, a lot of it was confusing when the Traveler greeted people I'd never seen before like they knew each other (with the biggest shock coming from the fact the Traveler knew about Kaenriah while I had never heard of the place). They really should keep all the story important quests in (like the one where Scaramouche first showed up), even if those were for specific events.
Me but weeks ago. When genshin was released years ago I tried downloading it on my phone. But uninstalled it immediately since I don't want to get distracted because I have school and such. But when I downloaded the game again (just in AR 19 for now) I really enjoyed it but at the same time since I focus on my academics I play the game sometimes. But yepp I half regret it since I also missed some important events *sigh
I never skipped any stories, but I honestly didn't play them in the right order apparently. So many things make more sense now! Kudos to you, as I would have died in the making of this unholy long video!!
I stopped playing genshin because i had no money for a computer and my iphone's storage was full. I absolutelly loved the game and hated it when i had to quit. I was really into it, it was my safe place and it trully means a lot to me. Unfortunately, because of health problems (which comes with bad memory and forgetting almost everything) i forgot almost everything. Now, after i was able to buy new computer, the first thing i did was to download genshin again. I stopped when i finished dendro chapter. But i didnt want to play straight away when i dont remember things. So, thank you so much for your videos, it helps me a lot and i absolutelly appreacite that you also sum up the events, as i started the game right after liyue release. Love your work, keep up!
Wait ... You're also narrating throughout the video. This is perfection honestly. You not only have compiled all the important cutscenes and info but give a brief explanation filled with comedy and gameplay. Beautiful
1:11:02 i don't usually comment before finishing a whole video but since you asked, no actually, it doesn't feel long. you did a very good job and i'm really enjoying it so far
i was watching while i redownloaded the game since it was taking about 8 hours and this really made it go by quicker and now i can skip dialogue without missing out
As somebody who first picked up Genshin a month after its initial launch, completed the prologue archon quest, explored all of Mondstadt, then drifted to other games for the next 2 years before finally coming back recently with 3.0, I've missed a LOT, and I've also forgotten the smaller details of what's going on in the story, and who is who, so this video is a GODSEND. Got my personal homework set out for the weekend 😁
This is EXACTLY what I needed, as both a refresher and an explanation of the events I missed due to starting later. Thank you so much for all the work you put in, I'm looking forward to more vids like this as the lore expands! Good job and I hope you get some recognition
As a person who stopped playing genshin impact for nearly a year, I am so grateful for this video because I can now understand what I missed and what is happening right now as, honestly, it is very confusing. Thank you a lot lot 🛐 ... Lot. :3 You saved me for real! ^^
Dude thank you so much for this video, i wasnt paying much attention to the story but you recapped it perfectly and you kept me interested the entire time. The jokes and the editing didnt faulter throughout the whole video thats awesome! I really appreciate you. I realllly hope you do a video on Inazuma soon :)
Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad that I was able to help out! And yeah, I'll begin working on the Inazuma video soon. But this video took a long, long time to complete lmao. I'll try and do an update on it tho when I begin!
@@StrayMaverick I don’t know how hard it was to make the entire video, but maybe you should chop up each new area into their own Story recaps so it won’t be that bad🤷♂️
I dont play genshin impact but ive always been so fascinated by the intricate character back stories, the development, the plot, literally everything!! Like, one could literally write a book for each character!!! Thank you for this video!! I love how despite not playing genshin, i get to see what the world looks like!!
This is a masterpiece. The story telling, the humor, the pacing, everything! Loved it binged the whole thing in one go. Probably one of the best lore based videos to date. ✨
I still remember the summer event and just how much fun and wholesome it was. It always made me smile and just spending time with the Monstadt crew was a delight. And when Inazuma would come in the next update it really hid the darkness that was yet to come
The amount of time, effort, and love you have put into this is dedication. This video is very underrated and I hope you will continue telling Teyvats story as we progress. I hardly like UA-cam video but you’ve earned it.
Oh man, I don't often comment. But. even though I just clicked to get a quick summary of Genshin story, your style really is something. Made me sensibly chuckle more than once. Just gained yourself a new subscriber.
we've been blessed with this rundown of all the lore, presented in an easy-to-understand, convenient, and hilarious way, without leaving any important info out the hero we needed but didn't deserve fr tho, *thank you*- your work must not go unappreciated- you've gained a new subscriber today, my friend
I was thinking about watching the complete story of Genshin til this update some days ago, and the community post were u promote this video showed up Amazing and really nice narrated Keep the good work
As of writing this, I've only watched 45 minutes so far, but I really enjoy your narration and a well scripted story telling, lovely sense of humor and I am not disappointed clicking on this! So good! Thank you
As a returning player after two years (got up to Chasm), I needed some lore catching up to do. Kudos for your excellent work which is so helpful getting back into the story! So great that you also incorporate time limited events and character stories into the time line and don't just string together cutscenes but summarize the essential parts and with some tongue-in-cheek, too 😉. Thanks, will watch on now
spent my whole afternoon watching this, and it's so worthwhile. i needed a recap myself, since the lore details are starting to get hazy to me considering that it was a long time ago since i started.
As someone that's currently on AR 51 and started playing for the first time back in february,I somewhat enjoy the nostalgia I get from looking back at the beginning chapters and quests. It reminds me how far I've gotten and the feeling of major excitement I had when I started playing this game not that long ago
I would like to express my gratitude for this video. As a person who took a long break from this story, and likes to remember all aspects of it, this video really made my return so much better. I can't imagine how long this must have taken,, with the editing, script-writing and so forth. Thank you!
No joke, I've watched this probably 3 times now. The work you put into this hasn't been in vain, and I've watched it not only for the story bits, but also to relax to while I wind down and get to enjoy a retelling of the story up to a certain point so far. Thank you for putting this together~ (Plus the little edits and jokes and puns are a welcome bonus.🤣)
I just can't accept that this video has very little views and likes after 5 months. This is wonderful and so underrated. I couldn't play Genshin so I just watch these types of videos. THIS NEEDS MORE ATTENTION!!!
I never comment, but I had to here. Genshin is my absolute favorite game, and this video is the best storyline-dedicated video on the platform. It is aesthetically pleasing, funny, and flows seamlessly. The amount of effort put into this is admirable as well. Thank you so much for doing this, and I cannot wait for part 2!!!
The way you explained the events made this really flow nicely to the point where I watched the entire thing and realised just how long I was sitting there for.
it could have been just a simple compilation of events but you made it so much more entertaining with the community consensus and memes scattered in between, can't wait for vol 2!!
First off, this is amazing and so well put together! Thank you so much for putting in all the effort in creating this timeline/history video! Second, just a note which has likely already been said, but Albedo is not biologically related to Klee, Alice, or the "race of longevity" (which many have presumed to be an elf-like species due to Klee's ears). He is (spoilers for his backstory) an alchemical experiement created by "Gold"/Rhinedottir, a woman from Khaenri'ah who also created the Rifthounds in Inazuma. This is why he feels a connection to Durin, because they are both creations of Rhinedottir and could essentially be considered siblings. Alice and Rhinedottir are friends and after spending his youth with his master, Albedo was given a note which told him to go find Alice and join the Knights of Favonious. Alice told Albedo to call her "mother" but he doesn't, rather refering to her as "Aunt Alice" as we saw. Despite this, he sees and treats Klee as his younger sister, often looking after her. So yeah! Not biological siblings or cousins, but they do have a family-type relationship!
Great comment! I made sure to word it in a vague enough way where this revelation could still be surprising in Part 2, as, like you said, Albedo uses the word "aunt." So I just say that he's "also within that family tree" without saying that he's blood related to them.
@@StrayMaverick Fair enough! Apologies for the long winded comment with the Albedo lore btw,, he’s my definite favourite if it wasn’t obvious haha. Also I realize this was created before/during the newest Albedo event so not everyone had access to all the Albedo info and if I remember correctly there was a bit of new stuff as well :)) Once again, thank you so much for the amazing video! The comical bits helped break up the long story conversation which was a great way to go about the video! I look forward to part 2 in the future! 💗
Thank you so much for this!!! I’ll binge vol 1 and 2 because I only started playing genshin in 3.0 and missed so much, even new events because they were in regions I haven’t unlocked yet so this is a massive help for me! I took my time playing and only got to inazuma after almost a year of daily playing so there’s LOADS I missed - including many story quests that I haven’t started yet bc I wasn’t interested in the character involved. But these videos really get me engaged in those stories too :)
This video is mind-blowing. You narrate in a way that's clear and thorough, yet while the video is long, it doesn't feel like any point is drawn-out or boring. Audio and editing are both of great quality, and even the ad count stays at a more than reasonable amount. You definitely deserve far more subs and recognition, sheesh. Thanks for this blessing of a video!
this video made me realise how much I forgot was in the story even though I only started playing since Eula's first release. Thank you for this video and reminding me how good the stories are in this game
It's been almost 4 years, so I don't know if it hadn't been clarified back then, but at least now it has been confirmed that Aether is canonically the main character and Lumine was the one who arrived at Teyvat first.
I hope you make a part 2 at the end of the year. It would be a huge help to new players and older players who don't have time to play all the limited time events.
Wow! Thank you so much for putting this together. Your 45-page script is amazingly hilarious, loved it! I used to play on a mobile device that freezes whenever cut-scenes start so I'm very thankful videos like yours that gives me the chance to view them again. The only part of the event order that is different from how I imagined is: the Unreconciled Stars event could be before the Windblume Festival (v1.4) and this festival is after the Lantern Rite(v1.3). But I guess since they're pretty independent events so this works too. Would love to see more story videos from you!
I started playing genshin about a month after this video was posted. I've been loving it since, but I am so thankful for this video. Definitely a lot of information i would've not been too aware of or missed completely without watching this. Amazing work!
My busy life only allows me to sporadically play, which I only just started a couple months ago. Alot of the stories details have eluded me. Thanks for this detailed explanation of the story, which I can listen to during work. I hope you'll be doing an update video for more current content
As an AR 59 and early game player, I onlyJUST found this video and im listening to it as i work. You put so much effort into this im immediately subscribing. I randomly smile to mysel when you insert random comedic side notes "they were carrying tears around ?!?". Love that because it shows how invested you are in the game, and while a recap video is serious you also have fun with it lol, saying what a lot of us probably were thinking.
Thank you so much for this! For someone who cannot play the game but still wanna follow the story, this helped me so much. I will be patiently waiting for the continuation, thank you again!!
1:11:02 Thanks for callin me special, man. And thank you for devoting so much tine to make this too! Im not able to fit Genshin on my phone, so learning the story this way helps fir me to still enjoy the game. Keep doin you!
I feel so happy knowing that I can watch this for all the events I missed. I started playing the game this year and I am at chapter 1 act 4: “we will be reunited” and I have missed so much story because I started late. I have so much appreciation for this video and the effort you put in to it. Thank you
I decided to watch the video just to recall all the things that happened, since there's so much content and so much more to come. This gave me so much nostalgia, I really wish I could replay the game for the first time again. I also loved all the memes and the jokes, they made the video really entertaining. Thank you for putting so much effort into making this video, I really appreciate it, and I also hope you will continue doing this when Sumeru is released :)
please please please continue this story explaining thing it helps a bunch surprisingly enough. and it makes the game more entertaining when you connect the dots together. please follow through with chapter 2 !!!!
thank you for this, i only play genshin impact because of how good the graphics and gameplay is and never really focus on the lore, so this literally helps me so much, thank you !
As someone who doesn't play Genshin (mainly because I HATE open world) and would still like to know about the story, at least tangentially, this is a great way to do so to at least get a general idea of how the story is progressing. Great job! Do you plan to do another one for the entire chapter 2 next time?
Yup! I've got the outline in order, and continue to update it when new quests are added. It doesn't appear like the next arc is finished yet, but when it is, I should have Part 2 in the works full-time!
Amazing work, I can't believe the effort that went into this video for sure. Gives me some nostalgia for the early days of Genshin... And honestly your narration of the plots really enhance it for me
I just now got this video recommended and as a lore reader I appreciate this so much. You've done soo much work and I really applaud you for that. Subscriber gained :))

Part 2 was literally uploaded today
Hope you enjoyed Part 2 as well! Lol
As a beginner Genshin player, I would like to understand what the heck is going on, I appreciate this video 😌
Same. I wanna get back into Genshin Impact but I missed a Lot of stuff. This is extremely helpful.
Just starting out now finally- yes!!
Have you been able to catch up since? :) 👀
Most heartwarming act is, on Klee's quest...
I feel warmth... Alice is a very motherly mom for her.
I feel like crying at the time I finish the quest.
Klee is her everything. And Alice is the best mother in the world for her.
Definitely a heartwarming reveal there at the end
She is not present for her kid like how is she a good mother while klee is on her own she didn’t even come visit her
@@ezgidefile yeah Alice seems like a female goku type parent
@@ezgidefile the fact that she bothered to outfit a whole unknown archipelago with machines to rise it up, invite most of the prominent mondstadt characters, each with their own personalised letter, somehow even got the anemo archon and Dvalin play along, all to make her daughter happy, I'd say is more than enough proof that Klee is her everything. The reason for her absence has to be very important, for her to stay separated from her daughter, when we know how much she's willing to do for Klee
@@jsw973 She did all that and still decided not to spend time with daughter face to face. She better have a really good reason for that xD
just realized that in the Chasm story line, Lumine mentions that she's been too focused on the "Heavenly Principals" and with the first cut scene, the unknown god introduces herself as the "sustainer of Heavenly Principals". Didn't recognize that without this video! Neat!

I’m so glad we immediately acknowledged how funny Paimon being called emergency food so often is
Such a quality meme
I love how much relish is in your voice when describing pretty much all of Childe's quest over the ridiculousness, it really never gets old seeing the big bad eleventh Harbinger backed into these sorts of corners by his own determination to shield his brother's innocence 😅
Wow, this video is amazing! Even being 3 long hours, it kept me entertained through the ENITRE thing! Great job!!! I loved how you explained everything and it brought back great memories of the events when I played them!
Wow, incredible praise. Thank you so much! Really happy that you enjoyed the video and I hope to see you around for future ones. 😊
They really should keep all the story important quests in (like the one where Scaramouche first showed up), even if those were for specific events.
you missed quite a lot i started during summer 2021 but i wasnt too intrested, so i just didnt do event to this day i regret it,
@Liana_Grill blame it on mobile players for not enough space
Me but weeks ago. When genshin was released years ago I tried downloading it on my phone. But uninstalled it immediately since I don't want to get distracted because I have school and such. But when I downloaded the game again (just in AR 19 for now) I really enjoyed it but at the same time since I focus on my academics I play the game sometimes. But yepp I half regret it since I also missed some important events *sigh
I never skipped any stories, but I honestly didn't play them in the right order apparently. So many things make more sense now!
Kudos to you, as I would have died in the making of this unholy long video!!
I've been calling paimon a "floating diaper baby"
until minute later I called her emergency food
Yay, you’re back! Good to see you again. Gonna binge watch the entirety of this in 3.. 2.. 1.. now!
Lol it's good to be back! I hope you enjoyed the video. 😀
Lol aww, thank you so much. That really means a lot.
i was watching while i redownloaded the game since it was taking about 8 hours and this really made it go by quicker and now i can skip dialogue without missing out
I normally would never have the patience to watch something like this. for 4 hours straight. but i did.
this was amazing. S tier storytelling
Lot. :3
You saved me for real!
I really wish the unknown stars quest would have been made permanent I feel like it’s such a vital piece of lore that new players missed out on
I dont play genshin impact but ive always been so fascinated by the intricate character back stories, the development, the plot, literally everything!!
This is going straight into my 'favorite multiple hours long comfort videos' playlist. Thank you for your hard work❤
Oh man, I don't often comment. But. even though I just clicked to get a quick summary of Genshin story, your style really is something. Made me sensibly chuckle more than once. Just gained yourself a new subscriber.
we've been blessed with this rundown of all the lore, presented in an easy-to-understand, convenient, and hilarious way, without leaving any important info out
the hero we needed but didn't deserve
fr tho, *thank you*- your work must not go unappreciated- you've gained a new subscriber today, my friend
Thanks you now I can fully understand the story since I started playing a month ago
Yay! I'm so glad that I was able to help someone with this.
I was thinking about watching the complete story of Genshin til this update some days ago, and the community post were u promote this video showed up
Amazing and really nice narrated
Keep the good work
Thank you! Really appreciate the kind words and I'm glad you were able to see the video
Lol wow, it's wild to hear that someone spent an afternoon watching something I made. Really means a lot to me. So, thank you!
Been playing since day 1 there’s so much that has become hazy after so long
As someone that's currently on AR 51 and started playing for the first time back in february,I somewhat enjoy the nostalgia I get from looking back at the beginning chapters and quests. It reminds me how far I've gotten and the feeling of major excitement I had when I started playing this game not that long ago
Jeez you sped through the game
The amount of time this took honestly was probably a lot. More than I can imagine. Props
I would like to express my gratitude for this video. As a person who took a long break from this story, and likes to remember all aspects of it, this video really made my return so much better.
I can't imagine how long this must have taken,, with the editing, script-writing and so forth. Thank you!
I loved this recap. I will wait for volume 2 for as long as it takes
We really need event quests to make reruns for people that missed them
No joke, I've watched this probably 3 times now.
Can't wait for a part 2 for this as more content have been released since the making of this video. This is really good.
it could have been just a simple compilation of events but you made it so much more entertaining with the community consensus and memes scattered in between, can't wait for vol 2!!
I’ve watched this at least 3 times since it came out, so I hope that puts a smile on your face
Thank you for doing this! Seems like there's nowhere else to find this info with the actual footage included.
This type and quality of content is amazing, I think it’s really cool that you made this so in depth
How does this ONLY have 270k views. This quality and the length is deserving of at least a million.
And 1 million it got as deserved
And 1 million it got as deserved
1.4 million now
3:00:45 had me falling off my chair 😂 I find your narration so hilarious. You are so underrated and deserve more recognition.
Bruhh you're the best at story telling. You included it all
When will you release Vol. 2? I finished this video in one sitting. Very good story telling, I love to see more of this. 💜
omg same, i love long videos and one that is entertaining is even better lol
he uploaded a Vol. 2!
@@alz397 it's out
This video is mind-blowing.
Thanks for the cool video. You did a great job and I hope you get the recognition you deserve. Your commentating is entertaining and funny.
This was funnier than i expected ... i expected a boring recap due to length but DAMNNN was that so fun
The first chapters of genshin in monstadt were truly the best. Those chapters were peak genshin lore
Thank you so much for this! For someone who cannot play the game but still wanna follow the story, this helped me so much. I will be patiently waiting for the continuation, thank you again!!
Nice writting and narrations really loved it
1:11:02 Thanks for callin me special, man. And thank you for devoting so much tine to make this too! Im not able to fit Genshin on my phone, so learning the story this way helps fir me to still enjoy the game. Keep doin you!
I've been waiting for this video for a long time. Glad it's finally out
Thank you! Hope you enjoyed it
Oh my god, the AMOUNT OF TIME that must have taken you to make this video... Thank you so much for your efforts!!! We appreciate it infinitely!!
I feel so happy knowing that I can watch this for all the events I missed. I started playing the game this year and I am at chapter 1 act 4: “we will be reunited” and I have missed so much story because I started late. I have so much appreciation for this video and the effort you put in to it. Thank you
I am really super grateful for this video! Over the years my memory has been starting to get hazy so it's really nice to revisit these moments 😄✨
I swear like 10 Genshin Impact ads came up throughout this video- very helpful though, thanks!
Thank u fr this...Eagerly waiting for vol 2!!
