Agree on a comparison of the Fuel series M12 vs M18. I like the lighter weight of the M12 series, however, I use the multitool for a mix of light and heavy work. I am between both of them at the moment...
milwaukee was in beast mode 💪 one thing i would of liked to have seen in the review was the noise level coming from the tool compared to the gen 1 or the M12 model. We all know these tools are super noisy. The 5.0 or 4.0 amp would be the perfect size battery for this tool
Iv used makita, mil, dewalt. And fein. Dewalt is nice. But the blade get a little more flimsy cuz of the quick lock mechanical feature. Milwaukee you got to use the lever, then unscrew it, then tighten it then put lever down. Dewalt you only have to squeeze replace and release. Real easy. Fein is like that too. And they vibrate the least out of all the brands. Other brands can't figure out how to reduce vibration in the tool. Anyways. Makita nice to with a quick lock kinda like fein tool. But it's too damn large. The body is like humongous. Milwaukee also got the double squeeze battery release. I'd much rather only need a thumb to press and release it but just my thoughts on it. Iv used my mil tools alot don't get me wrong. I watched hella reviews about the tools before I bought. But not until I owned them did I see I wasn't fond of the oscillater. It does come with an extra adapter for certain blades Wich is cool but also a curse cuz you have to keep and and store it.
I like bags because they are small the boxes and easier to store and weigh less when not in used boxes get heavy and take alot of space to store and you can put anything in a bag there more versatile the hard cases only fit what there molded to fit @vcgconstruction
Please do the compare, I’d love to see the M12/18 face off, I could go either way as I’m on both platforms, and the input would help me make the right call.
Vince. Really gonna need to see the m12 vs m18 fuel on this. Was about to pick up the m12 version but now I'm not sure. Side x side comparison with your professional opinion would be another great help. Thanks for all you do.
Wow....it handled the steel alot easier than I expected. I am pretty sure the 11th setting is Auto. The quick change is alot easier than grabbing an allen key, but I have to give props to the yellow guys, their blade change system is pretty slick.
Dewalts blade change is nice, but I'll say no thanks on the trigger. I accidentally turned on that DeWalt so many times just picking it up or changing cut orientation, almost nicking my hand or material. I will say the only con with dewalts blade change is that it's stiff as hell until it gets broken in. My dad, who is the DeWalt guy, bought it, and at 60 years old with possible beginning stages of arthritis, has a hell of a time working that lever. I ended up going with the m12. Same opm's as the m18 and the blade change is just about as fast as any competitor. Works for me.
@@brianf9619 that’s good to know. Im looking for any feedback possible. I’m stuck between dewalt or m21 fuel or m18 fuel. I don’t really change blades often unless I’m changing to a sanding pad for trim work. Until I buy my own, I’m stuck with my fathers ryobi.

Hey Hunter, just a heads up. The mechanix gloves are great while they last, but I've had 3 different sets in the last yr & a half (all $30+) & none have lasted over 6 mos. + They only have a 90 day warranty (which is usually right when they start splitting on you). I do construction & remodels FT, so I might be kinda hard on em, but all 3 pair were diff. styles, yet fell apart the same way, in about the same amount of time, so personally, I wouldn't recommend. I agree a work gloves vid would be great.✌

Hi Vince, The new milwaukee oscillating tool looks very nice. The Auto feature is interesting. Like the large LED light in the front. I differently need to feel the low vibration. Now, the two things i wish milwaukee did change. 1. A flat bottom (not angle). Just like the (m12). I know you don't care for it but it's very handy to stand it up right on a lot projects 2. I have the older one, the 2626-20, which I have been using mostly to cut in Caddy Rings (MPLS). Over the past couple of days, I've cut in about 30 of them for a cabling project, and I have loved cutting them in with this tool. The space is already finished and carpeted (right, let's call in the network guy after we are finished the space. We seem to always be the last one they call!), so I also bring around my M18 briefcase vacuum so that I can clean up after each cut. What a great, time saving combo! I do need to remember to grab my CP3.0 batteries from my basement, I keep them for my router which I don't carry in my van, but would be nice to shave a little weight off of the oscillating tool.

Both BMT and FMT, blade attachment sucks. Magnet or not, it doesn't matter cuz other brands uses Starlock system which is miles better than Mil's shit. Why dont m use the same system? I'm a pure Milwaukee guy byt not when it com to oscilating tool, Fein is king there. The only reason for me is cuz the Starlock system.
Guys this is an excellent tool but there is a lot dumb things in this design for one you can't stand it up this takes up a lot of room on the bench. Secondly who ever thought of the nut should go back to design school. Tired of beating the shit out of my fingers. Milwaukee could have flattened the bottom nut and knurled it in a way to make it more ergonomically friendly. I like to rest the blade on a flat reference surface when possible the nut should be flat so it does not catch and snag on things. Just replaced all my dewalt cordless drills Ive had since 1999 and wanted to try milwaukee I'm thinking I might have made a mistake switching brands.
Are you kidding me, you still have to unscrew center pin, It's like making a futuristic Ford model T. I have all Milwaukee tools except multi tool, I was hoping to see better features than my Dewalt. BUT wow it do got the POWER!
@vcgconstruction does your battery fit loose or have play and rattle in low speed? Mine does, I wonder if it's gonna have the same problem as the bosch GOP 18v- 28n where the battery housing wears off from vibration. Funny, cus I got the Milwaukee fuel as a replacement for the reason and it does the same thing. Shoulda gone with fein from the start.
Tool less blade change is supposed to be quick. Messing around unscrewing the securing bolt after lifting the lever. Z z z z z. Wake me up once you’ve changed the blade.
Oh the fuel!? Ok ok. I got my 18 v standard I guess. I hate that it's not the fast click lock like fein or dewalt or even makita I believe. That and, my speed scroller failed and broke internally. It still works fine. But sometimes the speed changes slightly. After having them for two years. They still work but I would never buy them again. The impact on drill mode stops when you use it. The first set I had to exchange cuz the battery wouldn't power the drill for some odd reason. The hammer drill / driver is actually the best working thing I got in the package i think. I mean in my opinion at least. The trigger gap on the drill and impact at the top where you can see it's not seated correctly. Every one iv looked at no matter if it was a drill or impact they are all like that. They have that odd gap up top on the trigger. some worse than others. The batteries haven't failed me either came with 5.0. that was a big buying point for me. That's my truth.
would starlock max blades fit this? i have lots of starlock blades i had the makita 52 model which got stolen...looking at getting this if it will take starlock max...i can see its got a bit more grunt than my old makita (which was still very good)
I wish they put the same blade change as the Dewalt I own both brands dewalt has better Handel but I love Milwaukee I purchased 18 m18 12.0 batteries I can run A factory with them lol
Have they moved the speed control wheel from where it is on the standard 18v multitool ? Thats the one thing about mine I don't like as I,m forever accidentally changing speed because of it,s poor placement
I bought this one last Friday out of desperation after the foreman's old corded Makita lunched itself, we're doing a reclad on a 100 year old house with gnarly old nails. The blades can't keep up with the tool unless you buy the high end tungsten carbide blades. It is bad to the bone though. I really wanted the 12 volt version but they're very hard to get in New Zealand, and this one was the last one on the shelf. The newer release models also come with a Starlock adapter. Not sure if it does Starlock Max though. Also the tool has a shutoff feature if you try overload it or it gets into something weird and it grabs, which is handy but my apprentice shit his pants when it happened, he thought he just broke my tool. I've managed to do this on this reclad job cutting into native timber that's as hard as woodpecker lips
Ridgid job max multi tool has the magnetically locking device. I like theirs better because it does not havd a separate bolt. However, the ridgid is no comparison in performance.
i think we would benefit from a HO 3 ah barrery instead of 5 i don't think an oscillating tools use that much energy, than again I've never used one in my life than again at some point as a diy guy you can have too many batteries i have 1 2 ah, 3) 3 ah batterys 1 6 ah, and 1 8ah
Been looking to replace my rigid multi tool. The locking bolt system is a pain in the ass. I’ve had that on other multi tools. It needs a real quick release system like rein and rigid have.
I am disappointed with this tool. There are better blade change mechanisms that are literally instant. I even have a couple I have engineered in AutoCAD.
Shame you still have to have the screw to hold the blade, i thought this would have come with the starlock system, shame i have the current 18 volt one but now will get the fein multimaster,, love milwaukee but they should have updated this,,,
Do like those LED light improvements from the old m18 OMT. The Automatic “speed” is intriguing, huh, wonder how it will work out in the world....& if ppl will use or not. Do like those new magnets that help hold the blades, compared to again, the older gen 1 m12/m18 OMTs. As the new Fuel OMTs are impressive & NICE, not gonna go out & buy any just yet. My gen 1 tools get the job done; so when they end up quit working....than I’ll buy the new ones; unless I find a sweet sweet deal that can’t pass up; which could happen being subscribed to VCG, as Vince and the VCG Fam sends out those Nice Deals to us all😉 Also, Vince, yeah...I do use my OMT to cut PVC, ALL the time (🤣) especially when remodeling or doing a emergency repair, & gotta get in/out quick than come back to finish the job. Cheers✌🏼
what are those knobs holding the blade made of? it feels that unless they are made of something very very strong, they will need to be replaced within a couple of years or so?
The auto would not only save battery but also perhaps prevent burning while the blade moves through a cut and is not under load. Less friction = less heat
I think the auto feature is great just for saving juice! I'll have to get one myself and put it to work to see if the auto setting has any advantages. It does seem that it might help decrease blade skipping when making precise plunge cuts into hard surfaces. Pork Chop Sammiches.
It does. I was cutting thick aluminum channel. And everytime I applied pressure it will increase and really start cutting. And battery was still fully charged after 5 cuts.
I like that auto mode it will save battery life and stress on the mechanical parts reducing heat and to the motor on auto mode gives u power demand when its needed and yea the tool will be sensing the load its getting to speed up or slow down the rpm prob detects a current change ramps the rpm

I like to rest the blade on a flat reference surface when possible the nut should be flat so it does not catch and snag on things. Just replaced all my dewalt cordless drills Ive had since 1999 and wanted to try milwaukee I'm thinking I might have made a mistake switching brands.
Milwaukee says releasing November 2020 and my Home Depot says it’s on back order... the demand on this tool is insane
@@firstlast5139 I think Milwaukee themselves know there was no point of a fuel version. Took them 9 years to say fine we’ll do it.
Why don’t Milwaukee put voltage selector 110V-220V on their battery charger? Not all country using 110V.
I'm surprised by its power and low vibration, it would be nice to see a teardown of this tool 🤔
Get one to AvE!
I won’t trust this guy he says the same thing with DEWALT, MAKITA, and Milwaukee so we don’t know which is best
That’s actually quite impressive cutting that steel
I was definitely impressed when it got through!
The only thing Dewalt has done better are their multi tools, unfortunately. I guess it’s true everyone is allowed at least one 😂😂
Thanks for the video Vince I thought I needed a Allen key I wasn’t pushing the release far enough
Shame you still have to have the screw to hold the blade, i thought this would have come with the starlock system, shame i have the current 18 volt one but now will get the fein multimaster,, love milwaukee but they should have updated this,,,
Heat kills these blades. Slow the speed down on steel ,and keep using the oil. Well done.
I want one so bad but I can't bring myself to pay 300+ for it I hope they go on sell soon tell they do ill have to stick with my Rockwall f80
Where did you bought your glasses? It looks nice. I already bought the machine, I want to buy the glasses
My gen 1 tools get the job done; so when they end up quit working....than I’ll buy the new ones; unless I find a sweet sweet deal that can’t pass up; which could happen being subscribed to VCG, as Vince and the VCG Fam sends out those Nice Deals to us all😉
Also, Vince, yeah...I do use my OMT to cut PVC, ALL the time (🤣) especially when remodeling or doing a emergency repair, & gotta get in/out quick than come back to finish the job.
Cheers✌🏼
what are those knobs holding the blade made of? it feels that unless they are made of something very very strong, they will need to be replaced within a couple of years or so?
The auto would not only save battery but also perhaps prevent burning while the blade moves through a cut and is not under load. Less friction = less heat
Already making my 2021 black friday list 📃
Why does my blade when on the tool have a slight off center , meaning like a 3degree angle when looking from top down..?
Tool is great but the supplied backing sanding pad is rubbish, burnt the hook and loop backing after first use.
Seems nice but I'll stick with my DeWalt.
Vcg construction do you guys have a video on the DeWalt ocaciling tool I'm sorry for the bad spelling I'm in the DeWalt line of tools and was wondering how well their tool is thank you
Ive heard it a very good tool aswell and that it has a one hand tool free blade change
@@canogaparque818 thank you for letting me know I appreciate it I'm not against milwaukee tools I just try to keep with one battery platform my wife helps me at times and I would like to keep things simple for her and I
I have bought the tools, but you cannot register the warranty online it does not recognise the codes on the tools or boxes, good tools no warranty
I’m an electrician and I use multi tools for cutting pvc conduit that already has conductors in it
Nice tool, but as long as there is no starlock, I‘ll stay with my blue competitor.
is anyone else turned on by the power this thing delivers?
Tools inaction says12v is more faster powerful than m18,
Just got mine yesterday and the battery is extremely loose. Does anyone else have this problem?
