How could you not put the Ridgid JobMax up higher on the list?! I have the 18-volt version which only cost me $80 on sale and even though it's not the Octane one and it's still a beast, I got the tool free change head for it so it's super easy to change blades, also u can clip the attachment on it in 4 different directions. A heads up. Kobalt brought out a new mower that uses a pair of 24v batteries. It comes with a dual charger and 2 5.0ah batts. And it’s self propelled for $400.
YEAH BABY!!! LET'S GO!!! Wide range of options for any level and budget requirements. Only thing i'd say with the Festool is dust extraction and battery costs do not make sense to me when teathered to a vac hose. Great job Nick. Happy New Year VCG.
I am considering the latest Bosch model. They advertise their 34N model produce much less vibration that's what I am looking for. Only one thing may pull me down is their starlock blades are expensive.
i can never understand people getting a finger trigger on a oscillating tool. a switch is what you need, because your most likely going to change hand grip and angle grip.
I’m a dewalt guy so this might be biased, but I can definitely change my dewalt blade in half the time it takes you to unscrew that thing. The Milwaukee is still better because the maneuverability. But dewalt has the best blade change on the market CORRECTION Bosch has the best blade change on the market
When I started doing carpentry I've always known the oscillating tool as the "Fein Knife" regardless of brand. Never even used the Fein brand but I'd say they must have made a hell of an impact. we're currently rocking the M18 Non-Fuel Oscillating tool, definitely have to convince my boss to get the fuel version!
When I was an auto glass tech I called mine a "Fein knife" too. I had the automotive version which accepted only automotive blades.. just the tool itself was 600 dollars 😬😬😬
Fein invented the oscillating tool in 1968 and the patent only ended fairly recently so until then you could ONLY get a Fein multitool, that's most likely why
I had the Ridgid electric one for a long time, but rarely used it because plugging a tool in and out several times is just a pain that is not worth it; I use it mostly for cutting in caddy rings. Since I got the Milwaukee M18 one, I use it a lot, along with my M18 vacuum so that as I cut in the rings, I suck up all the dust at the same time. No cleanup time!
Some nice info, but do your research, man. Bosch AND Fein have invented the StarLock system. All the Fein tools have it for many years already. Bosch multitools are good, Fein are just better. The Festool multitools ( just the tools, not the accessories) - are made by Fein, actually they are Fein models in a Festool skin. You are right about the Makita - unbelievably smooth and quiet, just ridiculously big and heavy ( more like an angle grinder than a multitool). I have the Makita, Dewalt and a Fein SuperCut in my workshop. Very keen on that new small 12V Fuel Milwaukee one.
Ok, so.. the reviews were awesome.... But a Personal THANK YOU !!! for time warping me back to the 1980's WWE promo spots!! I was waiting for The Piper to yell out, "When this DeWalt and I meet in mobile Alabama on the 24th and the Crisco arena.." I dig the vibe!! Awesome video!!
Putting Dremel als pro is also a bit of a joke, and while the Bosch is great, the Fein 500 has better vibration control and the 700 also has more power while using the same co-developed Starlock interface.
For a $100 we're talking not much difference in price might as well go with Milwaukee and you'll have something that's probably the best and it's going to last you a longtime. I have the Milwaukee M18 oscillator and I used and abused that tool daily probably one of the most used tools the size my screw gun and it still runs like brand new
I just picked up the new Metabo MT 18 LTX BL QSL. I like it so far, id say it compares to the Bosch pretty well. Its got a funny way of using the starlock mount but still making you use a pin which is a bit odd though.
Hi Nick, im a carpenter across the pond in the UK. Love your channel and the advice is spot on. However, the comparison on product to value for money would change this video all together because I have used everything from green Bosch right up to Panasonic and festool and I have found that the most rugged, long lasting and power to weight ratio tooling on the market is DeWalt. I have Festool equipment sitting in my workshop whilst my van is fully loaded with the DeWalt kit. What are your views on quality vs value?
I have the Dremel 8300 for 2-3 years... I'm looking to replace it. It's got a pair of 1.3 Ah batteries, you get about 20 minutes of use,,and the body gets near scalding hot. The charger takes longer to charge a battery than it lasts in the tool. I can't believe y'all included it in the Pro/Expert category. This is an entry-level/barely intermediate user tool.
Good video Nick, well thought out. I use Fein as it has been my choice for many years. I think with Fein, Festool, Bosch, or Makita there all excellent choices. I didn't have any experience with any of the Milkwakee, but I am sure it is a good option. I did think much of the Dewalt do to its construction and performance. Although I know a number of people that love it and use them all the time. The cheap stuff it just that, cheap stuff. If I where a home gamer. I would go with a corded model Bosch at around $200.00. There strong and for now future proof with parts, warrent, and blades.
I picked up a Dewalt Atomic oscillating tool with a 5 ah battery for 129.00 at the depot 8/30/21 I already had the XR I purchased back in 2019 for 99.00 with a 1.3 ah battery and a charger.

Now don't get me wrong I have a lot of Ridgid tools but I have even more Milwaukee tools and will usually buy a Milwaukee tool over a Ridgid one but there's no denying that the JobMax is on hell of a versatile and tough ass tool and I would buy it and the attachment for it any day over buying all the Milwaukee tools that I need to replace it and all the attachments for it!
Callin wallmart “One of the best home-improvement stores in the land” is the biggest stab in the back/slap in the face attacks against Menards, Lowe’s, Home Depot I’ve ever seen. you didn’t have to do them like that Homie 🤣🤣🤣
Imagine defending big box stores though
Thanks for the in-depth opinions of these tools!
Glad to see you back Nick! 👍🏻
I am considering the latest Bosch model. They advertise their 34N model produce much less vibration that's what I am looking for.
Only one thing may pull me down is their starlock blades are expensive.
i can never understand people getting a finger trigger on a oscillating tool. a switch is what you need, because your most likely going to change hand grip and angle grip.
nah dewalts variable speed trigger is game changing
I’m a dewalt guy so this might be biased, but I can definitely change my dewalt blade in half the time it takes you to unscrew that thing. The Milwaukee is still better because the maneuverability. But dewalt has the best blade change on the market
CORRECTION Bosch has the best blade change on the market
Bosch and Fein (they use the same system) ;)
Great job Nick!
Great video! I purchased the milwaukee 18 FUEL!!!
Watching this video on 1.5x speed makes me feel like the shamwow guy is back. Great vid
What about Skil oscillating tool?
The m12 oscilating is the one i would buy looks powerfull and lightweight
Buy next
Have one, love it. Will not be disappointed. More power than a 18v LXT makita I’ve found.
I've had the dewalt for about 4-5 years works great for me as a general contractor
@@jasonswoger410 this is the one i have and even its not the faster cuting multitool i love it too made everything i want i pair it with the 8ah
@@jasonswoger410 i am a carpenter
Good stuff...thanks for posting! ☕️🤘
Love the video... Great list... Keep up the great work y'all are doing
"I don't know what to do with my hands."
Cartman's got nothing on our Nick
Skil PwrCore 12v!!! Bad Ass. Smooth tool. Low vibration. Cuts up there with m12. BTW Ridgid has been had a magnet since their corded multi tool
That is interesting when you put Worx im the DIY category and Rockwell one step higher while they're the same tool with different brand on the case.
Putting Dremel als pro is also a bit of a joke, and while the Bosch is great, the Fein 500 has better vibration control and the 700 also has more power while using the same co-developed Starlock interface.
I bought the m12 it’s my favorite tool now I’m just looking for a reason to use it
You can remodel my bathroom. You will get tons of use and we will both be happy.
love my m12 multitool. comes in handy
For a $100 we're talking not much difference in price might as well go with Milwaukee and you'll have something that's probably the best and it's going to last you a longtime. I have the Milwaukee M18 oscillator and I used and abused that tool daily probably one of the most used tools the size my screw gun and it still runs like brand new
Fantastic video,Ono Guy’s!
I just picked up the new Metabo MT 18 LTX BL QSL. I like it so far, id say it compares to the Bosch pretty well. Its got a funny way of using the starlock mount but still making you use a pin which is a bit odd though.
This guy was fun to listen to
I actually loved the ranking system. Imagine if you guys do that for all the different lines of tools?
They are. This is like Concord Carpenter but louder
Good review bro. Thanks for the expert advice.
I missed you Nick!!!!
Excellent information. Just can’t watch it all because I don’t like to be yelled at for a half hour. Simmer down Beavis this isn’t the WWE.
M12 fuel one is bad ass! Use it daily
With daredevil blades
Fein originally make the multi tool as a cast cutter, I remember the Dr pulling one out to cut my cast off as a kid in the 80's
Yo this dude is hilarious. I feel like I'm about to watch a Battle Bots match or something. Keep killin it bro.
Go Nick.
I see you!
Yes would love to see a test for the Roybi multi tool.
Ryobi overheats and you have to shut it off to cool down. By the second job it burned out. They have this problem. It gets so hot your hand burns.
Agreed. Dremel is higher-end DIY at best. They are owned by Bosch, but are closer to DIY Bosch green tools than professional Bosch blue tools.
I’ll take the Milwaukee with star lock, please.
You forgot Metabo HPT, yikes!
Or even Metabo (Germany) which is different
metabo hpt should be called Shitachi.
If you zoom in, you can still see the blow on the counter.
I'm a proud Makita owner but I honestly think the new milwaukee m12 is the best multi tool I tried 👍🏻
Keep up the good work nick
Love the hype this guy brings
