My whirlpool just broke too. The drum isn’t moving, slight rubber smell, and water is pooling.

I just picked up one of the GHW9150PW1 and they thought was a bearing. I moved around and am thinking is the same loose drum. Wondering if is a plastic part or metal. I can fabricate parts so reading into so far, looks like a custom repair project being taken on. Neat! Now hoping everything is present broken so can observe the failure and repair accordingly.

Reading into... these parts are covered under lifetime warranty too. Will have to call Whirlpool and check to see. Maybe can save some time and just replace the parts. Man, that will be an awesome way and save some time... plus keep the Whirlpool employees busy.

@@jafinch78 did you ever manage to take care of this issue?

@@AyyuBX7 No, I recall after reading into the recall regarding the I think drainage issue where microorganism grow inside the machine that cause the odor, I decided to dissemble for parts. $35 down the drain, though I managed to find another older style Whirlpool washer for $30 that still works great to this day and might even clean better than the newer designs.

@@AyyuBX7 Interesting is a few days back I found the same model (though an earlier version) of my drying machine for free. With plans to disassemble as a parts machine, though I might repair once I troubleshoot the parts. Interesting timing to ask, must be washer dryer machine issue season. 🙂

I do not. It was to expensive to buy the parts and Whirlpool would not help. We bought a new LG instead.

Google this. people are getting whirlpool to replace this under the lifetime guarantee of the stainless tub. since the part is not removable from the tub people are standing their ground and getting them to replace. I will be calling this week and will report how it works out. Worth a shot!!!!
