This was an awesome video, even though I went a different route and replaced tub bearings and seal instead of replacing rear tub outer. My case was a bit different, I had to replace the spider arm for the inner tub on my Whirlpool Duet washer, but this video helped with the majority of repair. Awesome job Simon, thank you very much 👍. I can only imagine this would've been a $1000+ repair
Glad you were able to fix your issue! If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
Done! In record time and with no injuries to either me or the washing machine! Thank you!
Very well done. My son and I were able to get machine apart and replace rear bearings with your help. Thank you.
@Joe B tub wasn't available when we looked last year. I see Sears Direct has the rear half with seal/bearing pre-installed now. But, yes, we found the bearing/seal kit online and just installed that. Worked great for about a year. Cost 16 bucks and 3 hours of work. If you're an dyi auto mechanic, it's pretty easy to do. Since you'll know the tricks of hot and cold to get a bearing in a tight spot....
Great video. Thanks for the help.

What kind of grease did you use on the bearing?
no grease, just a little silicone spray on the outside of bearings to help set them. no grease on the seal either.
Isn’t the 2 tub part heat sealed? Melted together? I did this job and the two halves would not separate at all
Depending on your model sometimes you can only get it as a whole assembly, but some models do have it to where the tub does split into two halves.
Great video but part must’ve not been a fit as after all this work when I ran a cycle the metal tub tore up the exterior front tub assembly again fml

" it should be an easy repair and only take a few minutes". No actually it is a difficult repair and takes 1-3 hours.
Yes, at least 2 hours for a regular guy
HA..... a few mins... the entire video is 26 mins..... i would love for this guy to charge me by the hour.... takes 3 hours.. get charged for a "few mins"
Buy an impact much quicker.
should not use impact gun with this job,
Good job.
Why not just replace bearings and seal.
Some or your pronunciation is difficult to understand.
Eg motor, the first syllable is longer and louder. MO-ta.
Our videos are just to help give you a general idea on how to do the repair. We do offer other videos that may show you how to replace the bearings and seal.
