DUDE! You are nothing short of amazing! All new Duet owners should be required to watch this. I was sure that I had a main bearing going out. What else could make that much noise? I scheduled a repair appointment for tomorrow morning and as a last resort watched your video. In the amount of time it took me to watch it, scratch my head and say to myself "No way is this going to work" I had replaced the clip with a wire tie and my "Worn Bearing" had healed itself. Well done, Sir! You just saved me at least $89.
Seriously? I just assumed that a noisy spin cycle was a feature of this machine for the past five years. I opened it up and couldn't identify any problem. Finally research it again and your video made me open it up again to realize that the wire running along that drain pipe has been hanging loose this whole time and it was slapping during the spin. Thanks for the video and a like new washing machine with little effort.
Wow, I assumed the bearing was shot due to the banging until I saw your video. I ended up taking the back off and zip tied the hose to the frame where the clip should have been. I secured some foam around the tube in case the zip tie breaks. The silent spin cycle is awesome now. I opened the drain clean-out and got enough change to pay for the zip-ties! Lol
@@perfectpink7633 The clip to hold the drain hose is flimsy plastic and cracked. I used a large zip tie to secure it and just in case I put some foam insulation around the hose so it can't ever rattle and bang like the whole machine was coming apart.
Thanks man! Had to take the back off to get the zip tie on haha tried pulling the drum out of the way but still couldnt reach it. I ended up buying a 1" wiring clamp. Rubber coated. Cost 2 bucks. Drilled a new hole and used a metal screw and some washers. Will last forever now
Very informative and well done video! I have and older model Duet and it will bang near the front right-side from time to time. This video will make my job a bit easier. I may have an issue with a shock or 2. Anyhow, Thanks.
Here looking for problems/fixes my Samsung front load. During spin I'm getting a grinding/rubbing noise, which I believe may be bad bearing. PLUS, there is loud intermittent banging/thumping, more-so at the tail end of spin cycle. Thinking shock absorbers for this noise. Was thinking of buying both bearings and shocks (probably $150 total vs buying new washer $700). What do you think it may be? But damn on yours I thought was bearings too! But will look into this quick/easy fix first.
This video and issue need more airplay. So much kneejerk advice out there it’s gotta the be the bearings. Or maybe the shocks. The shocks are worth replacing given they’re cheap and easy. And bearings are not a bad theory though I can see “fixing” them only to have the noise remain. 🤣 Anyway I’ve had this noise no worse or better for years. And thx to you I fixed it with a $.10 heavy-duty zip tie.
Nice. My whirlpool makes the same sound but nothing is loose After removing the top hole drum seems like is jumping around ( the absorbers are really good.
Whirlpool WFW8300SW02 Loud banging noise like it's unbalanced during spin. I opened the bottom panel and I only see three (not sure what they're called) shock absorbers that move. It seems like there should be four to keep it balanced. Where it would seem like there should be a fourth one there is nothing no bracket for one, nothing. The three appear to be working. This is inside underneath. Are there springs or something somewhere to keep it balanced during spin? I've searched online and the manual with luck. Thank you
Same exact washer same exact noise ,took too off ,hose is secure doesn't look loose and clips aren't broken. I'm going to run machine with top off and see if I can locate the area of the noise ,since it doesn't seem to be the simple hose fix . Damn my luck lol. A y suggestions would be awesome thank you
Sound feels likes it's coming directly from the drum ? Center to back of it. If you put your hand on the drum during spin cycle you can feel it directly in the drum

That’s awesome so glad to hear that!

Nice! Glad that worked for ya!
Hey Dave, you're killing it. I hope that your complex appreciate your skill level.
Thanks Michael !
Worked for me! THANK YOU! This was driving me absolutely crazy for a few YEARS!
Right on glad it helped!!

Um why how did it just got broke for no reason why it was not gonto do that...

You are amazing! Such a simple fix and just like others below, I had shock absorbers in a shopping cart ready to buy. Thank you!
Thanks for the help. I did find it to be a lot easier to just take the back panel off than from the top

Great work buddy - sounds like a good fix :)

Im getting a similar noise but on my whirlpool dryer same model and everything. What could it be ?

what is the tool you used to undo the screws on top?
my noise is more like a penny or screw rattling around behind the tub, any thoughts
Hi, my whirlpool 2005 front load wahsing machine just started squeaking when the drum is turning, is this something serious?

I am having the same issue with the Whirlpool duet dryer. A loud noise when it is drying sort of like a "clang". Any advise please?
Something’s loose/broke somewhere. Gotta recreate the problem hopefully with the top off so you can see

I’m not sure does it make a banging sound when running empty?
@@ApartmentMaintenancePro yes but not as loud.
Got coins or something inside drum. Access using the inlet hose? Can’t really see a good spot. Thanks

I think running it with the top off is a good start let us know what you find!

cool! mlld trouble! ...Good Job!
I got a dreadful grind and groan, especially with any semblance of over load.
What about the dryer has the same symptoms?
Same symptoms with empty load?
My Whirlpool Duet washing machine makes a banging noise when spinning. What should I do?
Mike
Does it do it when it's empty? Could be an uneven load if not.
Mines don’t make noise. It keeps saying OB. It doesn’t fully drain the clothes. And take longer to wash
Run an empty cycle and see if the error code still exists
@@ApartmentMaintenancePro yes it does. The drumb is lose but don’t make a noise when running
Our sound is more like screws spinning around in drum. VERY loud
Mine has a “grinding” noise
Maybe a bearing
That’s the wrong drum that’s the 24 inch one you needed the 27 inch drum
Wasn’t that
