    When I polish the machine throws the polish around, and it gets sticky and stuck in the paint, what am I doing wrong

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  6 років тому +2

      Try using less polish, five dime size drops is all it takes, also don't forget to prime the pad with pad conditioner or clay luber at the least. Make sure to spread the polish out over the paint surface. Work the polish in slowly unless you're using a rotary polisher. With a dual action polisher, start by placing the machine on the paint and maxing out the speed setting to start polishing. Most of the time you've used too much product, it's a common thing. Try it again, and let us know if the same thing happens.

      Use 0000 steel wool. You can get a bag of it at any auto parts store. I use it all the time on chrome. Does a great job with removing rust & minor pitting. Just be careful because the steel wool breaks down into small particles of steel. You’ll want to vacuum off the floor area and blow down the bike with compressed air after cleaning the chrome.

      Hi Charlie, yes! You can use the Clay Bar to decontaminate any exterior surface that is shiny or clear, such as paintwork, glass, clear plastic, and polished metal surfaces. Just be careful around stickers or decals if your bike has them. You should definitely clay bar your bike if you are planning on polishing! • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  7 років тому

      Hi there, you don't polish plastic because there's no clear coat unless it's a headlight. You might have to sand the plastic, but you could damage it that way.

    • @ChemicalGuys
