"QUALITY" Vid, tips & result............💥
Thanks for the superglue tip. Not only have I gone through many dremel brushes, but when they start shredding wires I’ve had a few stab and stick into my skin like little darts!
Great job, looks so much better 🎉
Thanks babe!
That gas tank looks so cool. Also thanks for posting this.
That a worthy looking steed indeed! Bravo!
I'm an ACF50 fan. Thanks for the how to on cleaning.
Great job, keep the good stuff going 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great tips man, the alu foil chrome and the dremelbits superglue, great ones!
Nice job, thx for the tips and tricks.
Wow what a diff, I may try this.
Nicely done, Sir!
GREAT VIDEO, AWESOME MUSIC TOO
Thank you! I only use music that I actually like!
Love that Honda bro! I have a Harley but my 1st & 2nd bike were Honda's and man they are great motorcycles! Good job 👍 BIG THNX!☑️
Great vid, and also great tips from everybody thanks!
Don't forget to run your engine once the ACF-50 has been applied to seal the job. It'll light smoke up a storm but it's unbelievable as far as corrosion protection goes.
Best part about ACF-50 is that when youve done a full blown clean up job, it feels like the equivalent of that fresh smell you get in the interior of a car when you put a fragrance tree in after a deep clean 😍
I love acf50!
Thanks for the tips.
I was here to leave the 900th like 👍 😊
Hard work. Nice. Thanks.
Great work! I would like to give you one tip - for a better shine, spray the polished surface or polish pad with water before.
When I bought my V Star 250 two years ago, I got this organic cleaner (Cycle Magic Clean & Shine) from amazon to clean every part of the bike first. Works pretty darn good! Then I used Mcguire's Last Touch Spray Detailer to polish everything. Also removed the light rust stains and pits from the front side of the front exhaust pipe! That bike looked brand new when I got it finished! Safe for painted surfaces too, unlike acid-based compounds.
Good info. I'll check these products out. I'm detailing a Rebel 250 as we speak.
You can dip your aluminum foil in Coca-cola when cleaning up that chrome....works pretty good, I've found. Thanks for the video and tips! Great looking bike! Gotta ride on the back of one back in '72 when girl down the street got one. I was a senior in high school. She was cute and obviously had her act together.....
Yes. The gas tanks on modern bikes, are a lot more difficult to remove. Just thought I'd mention that! Ha. Good video. But, this all takes a Lot of time, no matter how you do your cleaning?
What a bike
You can tell that polish doesnt come in spray can with you. Lol. Good job
Good video, you could have gotten it even more shiny if you sanded it down after the acid etch. It would be truly mirror shine!
Wow what a difference , the very first video I ever eat of yours is when you polished your Suzuki scrambler motorcycle engine I am curious how well that spray stuff will work as it is something I am wanting to try if it works for you, where did you buy it at thanks…
Thanks Rod! Yeah, that was a pretty popular video, hopefully this one is too! It seems like it is working really good, still no corrosion! I bought it on amazon, there is a link for it in the description of this video.
This guy looks like shaggy. Cant unsee that..... Bahahahahaha.
Use carb cleaner to get rid of the metal polish residue for a faster clean up.
Carb cleaner is great at stripping the old clear coat Honda sprays on their side covers....but it can also work its way into gaskets causing an oil leak if used on an assembled bike. Best if used on a rag in that case
A wipe with ammonia or kerosene wet rag will do it too....then rebuff with a dry wheel.
Before you Polish the engine, make sure to Czech it carefully, then you can Finnish.
And don't go russian around with this kind of job either
They don’t sell eagle one mag cleaner anymore. Do you know of anything else that works just as good?
Okay, but how do you get that beautiful patina that expresses an experienced aged look?
Do nothing
I would have thought a Brass brush on the Dremel? Too soft?
Am about to attempt this on three Hondas
Brass brush isn't too soft for aluminum. If you're cleaning steel or cast iron, use a steel brush. Don't use a steel brush on an aluminum engine though because you will scratch it all up.
Was the acid based aluminum cleaner okay with the painted areas of the engine?
Yeah, it's very diluted acid and it doesn't affect the paint.
@@GoldGuyRides great - thank you
The link for the speedo tacho doesnt work anymore. Do you have a name of the product you can share?
Just search on eBay for an electric motorcycle speedometer tachometer unit.
She's looking sweet.
Thanks Larry!!!
No no no
As an Aircraft Engineer and A&P Mechanic you never ever contact or clean any Alumina with anything with steel or iron.
Steel or iron wire wheels and steel wool will corrode any and all Alumina metal.
You may not see the Alumina part corrode right away but they will corrode very fast.
Why?
It is the microscopic particles of steel that touch the alumina that cause the alumina to corrode and once you do a wire wheel or steel wool rub there is nothing that will fix it.
DIY Al etching solution
12 parts Vinegar 8 parts Hydrogen Peroxide 1 part Salt
Etch time 5-10 min.
Why not just polish it instead of making it Polish.
You should think about it...
