I was lucky enough to find Scareglow at one of my Walmarts here in Western Mass. It was around early spring or late winter, already had Orko, Trap Jaw, and Man E Faces. There was a box of assorted origins figures on a pallet on the floor and asked a store associate to open it and it was wave 2, I grabbed the Scareglow figure and dashed for the check out like a bat out of hell!.
When this line came out, I told myself I wasn’t getting them. I figured id like the revelation line better. Boy was I wrong! I love this line now & very much enjoy collecting them. Hopefully wave 3 gets restocked soon! I refuse to pay scalpers
I love this figure so much I purchased TWO. I don't do that for all Origins figures, but man, I needed one on card and one loose. You just can't find glow in the dark toys much anymore...and this one is awesome!
I owned the original for years but I ended up selling it off some years back. It was turning orange in spots and the rubber band was deteriorating and causing not only the looseness in the legs but the rubber was causing a chemical reaction that causes the "crotch rot" on the inner leg plastic. All of that said, I would much rather own the Origins version regardless of the nostalgia of owning the original released figure. It's just a more robust design and brings home exactly what I wanted out of Scare Glow!

I loved Scare Glow as a kid...and not just because of the glow feature. That original cloth cape was the perfect material for a figure like that. I have the Classics figure and will be getting the Origins one if I'm lucky.
Thanks for the review. Got a bunch of MOTU:O including Scare Glow a few weeks ago. This line is such a great addition to the toy landscape. Such a perfect blend of nostalgia and affordability.
Scare Glow was one of the last He-Man figures I had. Being a fan of horror books, comics, and movies Scare Glow was one of my favorite bad guys in the original line up. I'm limited on space where I live for action figures so instead of trying to complete everything. I'm just buying figures that I think are really cool. This Scare Glow certainly fits that bill.
Another way to get these glow in the dark figures to really light up is to shine a UV black light on them. I recently bought one of those lights and put my bottle of glow in the dark paint in front of it, and it really glowed bright. Also the translucent green eyes on my vintage Redwood figure from the Inhumanoids line glowed super bright with a UV light as well.

I remember my cousin and I got to pick one figure and I picked Sssqueeze and he had the Scareglow. Once it got dark I got so jealous and felt I definitely picked wrong. But the original didn’t light up as bright as yours Michael. Thank u for the excellent vid 🙏

Origins line arms, hands, boots, head and torso are designed to be interchangeable. It’s a really cool play feature my son and I have enjoyed. Love the videos 😁

So glad to see you've acquired one. This is the only Origins figure I've seen in a store once. Once. He's a great figure, it's a bummer he's not so easy to get ahold of.
Luckily it seems Mattel is making plenty. They've been sold out at BBTS a few times and are back in stock again.
These figures are actually really tolerant of the hot water treatment. I've had a few of these with tight elbows, and since the arms will pop off, they are easy to soak in warm/hot water for a minute or two. After soaking, the elbows were much easier to 'unfreeze,' and I had no fear of breaking anything. Scare Glow looks awesome! I wasn't as interested in this figure, but now I think I'm gonna have to get one.

I just got mine yesterday and I love this figure. Going to have to do some paint touchups as you see I do in the discord but overall not much extra work is going to have to go into him.
Maybe some glow in the dark paint on the weapon like the classics version has?

I just sent for it from BBTS n after such a long time of trying to acquire the original n this one also, I finally was able to purchase it. I've converted most of the walk in closet in my bedroom to be a figure display area and now, at night, I can see him glow as I try to sleep. The MOTWEU glow figure doesn't glow as well but the Modern ReAction Robocop figure is pretty close.
Scare Glow was a sweet bonus when I picked my favs in a bundle. I got them on display. Next will be a few cats to add.

The classics scareglow is currently the same price as a vintage…maybe a $50 difference. Make sense out of that! I’m glad I decided to go origins.

Michael, I've had the elbow joints lock up on some of my Origins figures in the past. A way to fix it, is fill a half of glass of hot water and remove the arms and hands from the figure, then soak the arms in the hot water for about 5 minutes. That will loosen up the joints so they articulate at the elbow again. I've had to do that with mine, different characters but it does happen. You might know that trick already to fix it, but I just wanted to let you know in case you didn't. ha ha
I got mine from bbts and they are leagues better that entertainment earth in stocking and shipping items. I ordered scareglow last year and they still don't have in stock. If possible I'm ordering my stuff from bbts. They are great.
I was looking for information on, Google for this guy but writ squelegrow instead of scare glow haha the fisrt is a medicine from Harry Potter to repair bones
