This Helloween album is from the year 1987, but Kiske in the current band, keeps that vocal register almost intact, its voice seems never to age.
I don't think Kiske can hit the same F# he could when in his 20's but today his vibrato is much better. I always thought he was a tiny bit warbly (might have been the vocal layering the recording engineer was fond of on the Keeper albums) in the early years. It is obvious he got a good vocal coach as he matured. His diction is much better (people with foreign accents who sing in english sometimes have odd-sounding vowel sounds but of course the song lyrics were always a bit odd-sounding to a native english speaker as well). He is probably the most technically impressive vocalists in heavy metal. I wish he'd had more mainstream success outside of Helloween.

The liner notes for the 2010 deluxe set say that there was no story or continuity to speak of, only Halloween from the part 1 and this title track were (intentionally at least) related. Still the whole thing is best experienced in its complete form, but none of the other tracks hold a candle to this
So so grateful for this review, RVA 🤩 !! And you had so much fun in the process, eh? 😉 This epic song still stands strong after ... 31 freaking years 😱 and Kiske always kicks ass 💪
Back when I was teen, everybody wants to sing like Kiske. Helloween was very popular here in southeast Asia. 😁 I remember there were so many famous Helloween tribute bands. One of them was mine.
Or Morphine Child! Or any of those songs with those amazing vocal canons they have. Or just anything, really, be with Jon Oliva on vocal, or with Zachary Stevens, either way that's just an amazing band
Absolutely, 24 Hours Ago is another amazing vocal performance by Jon Oliva. They have so many great songs though. Sirens, The Dungeons Are Calling, Power Of The Night, and Gutter Ballet would also be awesome reactions.
The influence of Helloween is enormous they have to the the most covered band in the world. At least here on youtube. They have always written songs with a positive message too.
I was late to work today because this popped up on my UA-cam feed and I had to stop and watch the whole thing. I was shocked that really any UA-camr would have the guts to react to a song as long as this and a band like Helloween no less. Thank you! Thank you for acknowledging classic Metal, and some of its gigantic talents.
I love Rebecca's reactions... The smile, the closed eyes etc she does is the same happiness we used to feel when I heard for the first time that record... That song raises so many feelings....
Sat through the whole song. I've known all the words of this song since 2002 when I first heard it and it's still one of my all time favourites. Michael Kiske was/is truly a vocal wonder. One of the greatest metal singers of all time only surpassed by Rob Halford and Dio when it comes to range. It's also great seeing you react to my favourites, as I said. Nightwish, Judas Priest, Helloween etc. Your videos always make me smile, Rebecca! I'll start supporting you on patreon soon as well, you're one of the people who truly deserves appreciation for your work. Keep them coming!
I loved Hellowe'en as a teenager (back in the 90s!), but it's only now that I really appreciate just how insane his vocal range is. I do wish she'd reviewed "I Want Out" though, I've got a real soft spot for that song.
14:18 yes your "ears" have been fucked really well. I know many good songs from Beatles to Slayer. This song is a masterpiece. Music is 10/10 and the lyrics is very good, trying to be different, more meaningful.
Very good choice RVA thank you. You are right about the chorus being very melodic and musical theater-esq. A defining element of Power Metal (especially in European Power Metal) is a very melodic, very sing-along, style of chorus. They are meant to invite audiences to sing along.
How about some Glen Hughes or David Coverdale?! BURN by Purple or STILL OF THE NIGHT by Whitesnake. AIN'T NO LOVE IN THE HEART OF THE CITY (live Hammersmith '78) is a good old song from them too. Paul Rogers of Free/Bad Company was a huge influence on Coverdale and himself considered as one of the best rock vocalists. AIN'T NO LOVE... proves his influences perfectly. Sorry I'm drifting away... Haha.
@Ruben 1991 even though I prefer his voice on his acoustic 'Stalkers in Tokyo' with Adrian Vandenberg. Just listened to 'Soldier of fortune' again. Awesome.
Wonderful reaction you wonderful quirky beautiful woman! OBVIOUSLY stayed to the end! Legendary song from a legendary band. Next HAS to be Lost Horizon Highlander, or Demons and Wizard Fiddler on the green!
Hello Rebecca I was wondering, can you have a listen and do a segment on another German Power METAL band called Blind Guardian please. The vocalist the great Hansi Kursch, which I would rank one of if not the best mid to low range vocalist. Blind Guardian were the very first METAL band to create J.R.R. Tolkien masterpieces to METAL. Lord Of The Rings song from 1990 The Hobbit song 1992 and their greatest album called A Nightfall In Middle Earth about Tolkiens greatest masterpiece The Silmarilian from 1998, and two Tolkien instrumental songs from 1988, off their first album. That would be fantastic if you could do a song from Blind Guardian please!
This lineup is one of the most underrated bands in history. Thank god, they are back again as an extended lineup except Ingo the drummer (RIP). I am looking forward to catching a Helloween gig soon. Kiske is equally impressive live at that period by the way. Check How Many Tears from the Live in the UK album. It's impressive as hell.
Both are great! I really like the live performance of ”Sleepless Nights at Fillmore”. ”Welcome Home” would be great both soundwise and visually, but it might be too much for her now 😀
@@HasPotatoAim I would go with a studio recording first. I always recommend "Welcome Home". It's not the best, but it's quintessential King Diamond. With Intro, of course, so you get a feeling for the story and mood.

We Got The Right is probably my fav performance from Kiske. Good choice!
The liner notes for the 2010 deluxe set say that there was no story or continuity to speak of, only Halloween from the part 1 and this title track were (intentionally at least) related. Still the whole thing is best experienced in its complete form, but none of the other tracks hold a candle to this
You always walk alone and Dr. Stein are also bangers 😎
Oui we got the right est la meilleure avec keeper et always walk alone
I love the guitar solo in that song . . .
😁
I remember there were so many famous Helloween tribute bands. One of them was mine.
I was 14 years old and I'm still listening. WOW. My kids can not understand!!!!!!!! A JEWEL!!!!!
Now you've got to hear Savatage, Hall Of The Mountain King
Great song🎸
Or Morphine Child! Or any of those songs with those amazing vocal canons they have. Or just anything, really, be with Jon Oliva on vocal, or with Zachary Stevens, either way that's just an amazing band
Absolutely, 24 Hours Ago is another amazing vocal performance by Jon Oliva. They have so many great songs though. Sirens, The Dungeons Are Calling, Power Of The Night, and Gutter Ballet would also be awesome reactions.
YESSSSSS
OLIVA BROTHER WERE AMAZING
She has to react to a savatage song! I would like to see summers rain
Michael Kiske is phenomenal...greatest voice of metal Ever!!
The best power Metal song metal thrash what have you possibly ever recorded. Hell id put this up against anything to be honest. Pure Masterpiece
My f god. My favorite metal band/song/singer reaction! Can't believe. Greetings from Brazil. Let me enjoy this right now!
Demons and wizards - Fiddler on the green. Best metal ballad ever done.
Not sure about best, but it's definitely up there. Schaefer's songwriting style definitely combines with Hansi's vocals quite well.
Wintersun-Loneliness would like to argue
@@blazejecar Agree
Pfff the bard's song you infidel
The influence of Helloween is enormous they have to the the most covered band in the world. At least here on youtube. They have always written songs with a positive message too.
Now listen "Eagle Fly Free" and "I Want Out", both from Helloween too, with Kiske.
They've got a bunch of other good ones too ya know?
@@danzifer For sure. I am a big fan of Halloween and other melodic bands like Angra, Avantasia, etc.
@@danzifer the whole keeper of the seven keys album^^
And to think that he was barely 19 when he recorded this metal masterpiece. One of the greatest heavy metal vocalist of all time.
Michael Kiske is absolutely legend. He has a very high range of vocal and clean voice.
Amazing!!!
Now you have to do *I want out - Helloween*
I want to see her reaction at the "leave me alooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooone!" at the end.
And to be freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Yes! One of my favourite songs!
Absolutely, the high note at the end is phenomenal!!! Michael Kiske is a beast.
Great lyrics, more true today. A song from the 80's about fake news right up there with "Dirty Laundry" can everyone just shut up and let me think!
Michael Kiske is definitively the Franck Sinatra of Heavy Metal ....... The Voice !!!!
Remember watching them live in Stockholm in 88 as opening act for maiden. Most insane gig ive ever witnessed. Kiske all day long 🙏
I was late to work today because this popped up on my UA-cam feed and I had to stop and watch the whole thing. I was shocked that really any UA-camr would have the guts to react to a song as long as this and a band like Helloween no less. Thank you! Thank you for acknowledging classic Metal, and some of its gigantic talents.
I watched the whole thing and still don't believe she did it. "Gutsy moove, Schnee. I dig it" Anyone who doesn't get that reference should try RWBY.
Yeps.. thanks Rebecca 😎😎😎
I love Rebecca's reactions... The smile, the closed eyes etc she does is the same happiness we used to feel when I heard for the first time that record... That song raises so many feelings....
This entire album. Both of them were a HUGE influence on me.
I LOVE Dio and Halford forever, but no one...NO ONE holds the high note like Kiske IMHO
@@MrSockerbagarn totally agree, Kiske surpass them.
I loved Hellowe'en as a teenager (back in the 90s!), but it's only now that I really appreciate just how insane his vocal range is.
I do wish she'd reviewed "I Want Out" though, I've got a real soft spot for that song.
@@MrSockerbagarnsounds like you've never heard Halford from the 70s and 80s.
its cool because she's reacting for every section (vocal or instrumental) just exactly the same we do every fuckin time we listen to it.
this comment summarizes any reaction
Hi Rebbeca listen We Got The Right by Helloween next time.
Osborne Borgão that voice
@@cristianconejeros3958 , awesome!!!!
I really like the album Live In the U.K, it has an incredible sound besides the very inspired performance.
@@osborneborgao8508 one of the best live in the history bro, I went to the helloween live concert in 2017 when they came to chile
Imo, We got the right is the song that makes Kiske really shine!
Definitely THIS song from kiske
Holy crap!....WOW!....the power and range this man has. And, he weilds it with such ease. Very few people sing like this anymore. Great video
Love your reactions. Helloween is one of the best! Keep up the great work. Hopefully you'll do Judas Priest Victim of Changes live soon.
I don't know why, but I prefer the studio version. I think the ending is better. But both are great!
And seeing ger reaction to any of them would be great!
Michael Kiske has long been one of my favorite vocalists to listen to or watch. It was fun to see you have the same reactions to this song.
Helloween is one of the few truly great bands that create whole genres with their music.
Michael Kiske is one of my favorite singers. He’s still just as good today. And your reactions/dance moves...golden lol
My God Kiske, he was just 20 yerars old at that time... One of the best metal vocals....Amazing!!
Yeah, sadly it´s the kind of voice you cant keep when you get older :(
His voice is still good. check the latest helloween tour, pumkins united. or his band Unisonic.
Honestly, what are kids doing these days? Tiktoking? Kiske was 18.
What are you doing at 18?
@@marcelosousa3307listening to Helloween 🤘
I LOVE the reference when you pretended to smoke after 😂
I was thinking "Huh... I think this is the first time I've seen someone have sex with a song."
Michael kiskie, one of the 5 top volacalists 30 years ago and today too. And the Seven Keys..... Is a master piece. Great video
Haha.
Another vote for Glenn Hughes - specifically a live performance of Mistreated. ua-cam.com/video/3rDvJ8Fctmw/v-deo.html
@Ruben 1991 even though I prefer his voice on his acoustic 'Stalkers in Tokyo' with Adrian Vandenberg. Just listened to 'Soldier of fortune' again. Awesome.
Paul Rogers is hall of heroes legend. Shaped Rock as we know it.
This was over 30 years ago.....I still remember the first time I heard it as a kid...
Last Year Helloween Pumpkins United was in Wacken as Headliner with a phenomenal 2 hour Show!!! Nice Reaction Rebecca!! As Always!!
Imaginations from the other side!!
Somewhere far beyond by Blind Guardian
Yeah Battlefield is good but there’s too much going on. But a very fine piece of music.
Batallion of fear...
I had forgotten how much of a classic "Keeper" is.. And watching you react to it is an instant reminder with a pleasant bonus. Thanks Rebecca!
This is just Part1, Keepers part 2 is even better! March of time! Kiske have mad pipes.
@@ImDembe no, this song is part of Keepers II.
@@paoloenricoleone I stand corrected! my mind said this is Helloween - Halloween....thats on Part 1...sometimes the brain dosn't work that well :D
Keeper... was my 1st metal shirt I bought back then. Memories.
I bought the cassette tape five times and the cd four times, when we used to party in my house people who never heard Helloween kept stealing it.
It's impressive as hell.
oxygala greatest line up ever of power metal
Would love to see your reaction to King Diamond's extensive vocal range.
With Intro, of course, so you get a feeling for the story and mood.
king diamond is the only way i can get drunk....hahahha
GRANDMAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
LET'S TALK I think Melissa
apart from kiske angelic vocals..dont forget the 2 guitar gods..hansen & weikath
Helloween is one of strongest line-up bands. Markus and Ingo were virtuosos as well. All of them are top notch musicians.
@@tonyme7426 watch/listen dr. stein track..that is wot is guitar solos is all about
Three the bassist and the drummer too
@@tonyme7426 are you a singer???
I have no words. Thanks for your amazing comments and reactions for this unbelievable song (only one of the many from Helloween). I've been listening them for more than 30 years and never get bored. Their music is so multifarious. And Kiske... He's just phenomenal.
Could you please do “Fiddler on the green” by Demons & Wizards. I’ve got it on repeat it’s so amazing.
Thanks for the suggestion, my friend.
Phenomenal song!
In my opinion Hansi Kursch (the singer in this band) has the best voice in the world. It's absolutely insane what he can do with it. And this is one of his best songs, maybe even the best.
I like . Fiddler on the green is amazing song.
Got my ticket to see them in LA . So fucking excited man. I've been telling Rebecca to react to some Matt Barlow era Iced Earth too . I'm sure she'd be impressed . Especially with Matt's singing on Travel in Stygian from Alive in Athens
Keepers Of The Seven Keys Part II" ... ... a timeless, immortal, demolishing, original and inspired work. Achieving a mark thus before and after as very few records in history could achieve. Proving that metal is always in continuous movement growing, improving and innovating generation after generation. Great, great reaction!!!!

My life is horrible....I love watching you react to Michael Kiske..and move and dance to the song...it is exactly what I do...so when I watch..it feels like there is a connection..since we are thinking, and doing the same thing....thank you..and Kiske, yes...is an unbelievable vocalist....so unique and clean....without pretension to anything he does...one of the greatest vocalists of all time...
My favorite song ever! Brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it!
Same here. Best song ever

I have loved Helloween for the last 30 years and i can totally see the ridiculousness in the music...love it !!!! Welcome to the crazy metal music club !
Kiske was and still is legendary
I like her. And i love this song. Saw them live with God Kiske about one year ago in Bratislava. Helloween for me is Cult since the 80th. Never thought this could happen. God bless Ingo Schwichtenberg. Cheers from Austria.
Kiske is the best of the best!!! Thank you Rebecca !!!
I love the kiske's voice
Germans like perfection in everything! Cheers from Ecuador!
I saw Helloween play Donington in 1988 but had been a fan since Keepers part 1 came out in 1987. the vocal range, depth, power and consistancy of Michael's voice just blows me away even to this day.
What a wonderful human being is Michael Kiske. May he never die.
The range of reactions and facial expressions from 13:55 - 14:55 is just priceless!!
Helloween. One of the BEST Metal Bands Ever. Almost saw you start to headbang.
Knew you was a Metalhead at heart.
The singer, Michael Kiske was only 19 years old when this song was released in 1988. Unbelievable. I've loved it since then. Masterpiece.
love your videos. YOU are BEAUTIFUL! I remember when this album came out around 1987. Since you look 23 it was many years before you were born.
Kiss-ass.
