Gave my wife Glutamine when she was going through chemo and it helped a lot. She had a large wound at the time and it actually healed while getting chemo which is somewhat unheard of. The doctors were legitimately shocked. It also prevented mouth sores and kept her digestive tract feeling good.
Anyone going through chemo or recovering from surgery should 100% be taking glutamine.

Yes it does. It is a double-edged dagger. It is essential for body too so in his wife's case, it may have had a positive effect due to the chemotherapy damage. It was luck that her cancer did not blow back.

I started taking glutamine awhile back and around the same time began to try get back up to my normal weight of 190 lbs. I weigh 175. I have been eating like crazy and I wondered why I could not gain any weight at all. I suspected that maybe it was the glutamine so I stopped taking it. I have started gaining the weight back!! As always really insightful. One point which I am confused about though, is the point about giving glutamine to cancer patients during treatment. Other medical professionals talk about how cancer cells thrive on glucose and glutamine. They suggest reducing glutamine not only by avoiding glutamine supplementation but also reducing the glutamine consumed from food by performing intermittent fasting. You can see my confusion, as both theories contradict one another. Great video, I'm just confused on that point.

Have you even read the studies you are quoting from? No. 7 says: "the glutamine supplementation does not prevent the postexercise changes in several aspects of immune function." And: "However, the suggested reasons for taking glutamine supplements (support for immune system, increased glycogen synthesis, anticatabolic effect) have received little support from well-controlled scientific studies in healthy, well-nourished humans." What do you make out of that? And please mention if you have any conflict of interest.

Disappointed he doesn't practice due diligence with his content even though he sounds like he does. Still good, overall tho.
