Hi Janelle, your videos always brighten my Sundays, and this one especially 😉. Can't wait to see what you make with all your gorgeous fabrics and I'm excited especially to see your corduroy pants. Love your idea of a sheer blouse from that tablecloth - whatever you make will be gorgeous for sure 😊
What a wonderful surprise to get so many beautiful fabrics in the post! You are clearly loved by your viewers, Janelle, and rightly so. I understand your reluctance to cut into them, but that's the purpose the sender had in mind, so I urge you to be brave and turn them into stunning garments for you and your audience to enjoy 😊 I can't wait to see what you do with all your recent acquisitions.
It’s so fun to see your delight with all these fabrics! Props to Astra for nailing your colors! But I’m not sure I’d be able to cut into that lovely peachy tablecloth. Hey, just use it as a tablecloth! Tea and some yummy cakes!
Hello and that is such a great tour! I had a busy but productive day in my sewing room and just got a chance to sit and watch your video. I hope you have a lovely week ahead. Thank you for sharing your video and your expertise.
Hi Janelle, you are such an inspiration to many of us and yes blessed as well. Love your fabric purchases and gifts too. Thank you for sharing your Melbourne journey with us, really enjoyed it. Look forward to seeing you soon. Remain blessed xxx
One of the highlights of my week is getting to sit down, knit, and watch your videos! Thank you so much for the amazing videos and I hope you have a great week ♥🥰
Your videos are so encouraging for me to go fabric shopping & sew new things👍. thanks Janelle.. It's motivates me to keep sewing if when I feel like putting it away or taking a break😆😀
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. What a fun video. Don’t be afraid to cut and sew with these beautiful fabrics. Your results are always lovely! Sending greeting from New York City, NY. Just can’t wait to see your next project ! 🇺🇸❤️👍
Seeing the wedding dress patterns made me think about your vintage collection of patterns, you must have so many by now ! Would love to see a tour and how you organize them
Yep it’s getting a little out of hand 😂 I store them all in a big picnic basket! You can see I but if my collection here: ua-cam.com/video/OW2DJjomkCc/v-deo.html
Your videos have become an essential part of my Sunday routine. It's no wonder that your viewers send you such nice things. You put so much care into your videos!
Your makeup is perfect. And all those vintage floral prints were making me smile! It's so nice to see what stores look like in Melbourne. Lots of love from Ontario, Canada
What a nice fabric haul! Your joy in shopping and appreciation of your fabric gifts made me smile. May these beautiful materials inspire you. Happy sewing from CT-USA
i can relate so much to the fear of cutting into special fabrics! but just remember, if you try making clothes with them and it doesn't work out, those pieces are able to be used for patchwork and quilting! it will never be a waste because you can always go small with quilting pieces. cant wait to see what you make with these fun fabrics.
I am sewing at the moment and just watched your video. What a fun trip to Melbourne. The vintage scene is great. Enjoy the new fabrics you received. What a great.
I just adore Liberty's cotton lawn. One of my fav is the 'strawberry thief' print. To my surprise when i went into a Joanne Fabrics in California recently, they had many Liberty prints - but at a discount! I was floored to say the least.
You love of ochre/burnt orange has truly made this my new favorite color! So earthy, and goes with everything. I have two pairs of jeans in soft and vibrant ochre winging their way to me now- can't wait to pair with earthy colors and maybe a pop of turquoise..
So true I never even noticed that colour until this channel! Now I am appreciating those "terracotta" colours more, e.g. in nail polish. That whole colour range looks fabulous on Janelle and I think she is an "autumn" (in those old 90s makeup colour schemes).
Well thats sorted my day now! Sewing it is! Always enjoy your Sunday videos and cant wait to see what you're going to make with all that lovely fabric :-) How kind of those ladies sending you packages. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday :-)
Loved shopping with you, such cute shops. What beautiful materials . Can’t wait to see what you do with them. You’ll make beautiful projects out of them. I was thinking pretty pillows out of the peachy embroidered table cloth. They where gorgeous. Thanks for bringing us along. Happy sewing 🧵 😊
Thrifting and fabric shopping videos are my favourite, I'll never get enough of these. I love thrifting myself and these videos always make me happy and inspired to go thrift some fabric and make new clothes (also my style is exactly like yours so it's extra satisfying).
You visited all my favourite shops in Melbourne haven’t been there for such a long time and I’m going at the end of the month so excited the fabrics and dress were amazing looking forward to seeing future jean projects too 😎
Great tour of what’s in Melbourne. I’m back there next week to visit friends and family and will have to get to some of them if I can… also love love the fabrics you were so blessed to receive. 😃
Wish I had stores like you visited near me!🙁 your purchases are wonderful and your gifts you received through the mail are fantastic!! Go get creative!!!
Liberty fabrics are so fine, aren’t they? Lovely that you were able to visit Melbourne with Matt. I’ve been trying to make a simple Liberty handkerchief. Well! My sewing machine seemed to have a huge appetite for the corners! Such a fiddly thing to attempt. I loved the brown floral fabric; I think that a little overall dress would be perfect for this one. My other un-asked for idea was a full skirt for the Rose Fabric from Astra. It would be stunning. Enjoying your vlogs so much, regards Susan.
The Fabric Store is amazing. Tessuti is wonderful, but a bit rich for my blood. Janelle, you may remember Ruche Fabrics in Launceston that closed a few years ago - they had a range similar to, but smaller than, Tessuti, including Liberty prints. The Sewing Centre on York St in Launceston has a limited but nice selection of fabrics, and they have some Liberty too.
I lived in Melbourne for 5 years and never truly appreciated the variety of fabric stores, next trip im going to be taking your tour suggestions in mind. I've also suggested your channel to a number of people who want to explore sewing clothes. Plus I understand the value of those vintage pieces. I was given some embroidered table cloths. Also don't have a plan yet, similar in design to the pink one but mine are off white. Suggestions welcomed. Same problem what if you cut then regtet doing that? The yellow roses and the vintage sheets would make great quilt backs or background. But im doing more small projects and quilting than making apparel these days. Regards from Geraldton Western Australia #beyondawesomebags
You really are fortunate to get those wonderful fabrics sent to you. I can't imagine parting with them lol and I think you should definitely cut into them, except for the peachy embroidered one. That would be a beautiful piece for your home. As always, I enjoyed the video. Lots of love from California
Loved this episode Janelle. Especially loved seeing the fabrics your subscribers sent you 😀. How kind of them. I wonder if they bought them recently in thrift shops or did they have them for years? I’m sure they’d want you to make something from them. You certainly do them justice with your beautiful sewing. I look forward to seeing what you create. 😊
Delightful! I am in awe of you. Always enjoy your videos and your beautiful smile. I'm in NSW and loved your Melbourne shopping trip. I'm officially jealous! Looking forward to seeing your thrift flip of that beautiful dress.! 💗💗
Hi Janelle. Great to see you having fun in Melbourne! Have you been in to Esme's Patchwork here to see the Liberty fabric range Lillian has? From memory $32m. Have fun creating.
@@RoseryApparel Yes, but as we both know, such lovely fabrics, pricing exy, but when you see something it's like, I've just got to have a bit of that.🙄 I made a friend a wedding quilt from liberty. I won't tell you the cost of that make. But it was worth it. ☺️
As someone who lives in Melbourne (S.E suburbs) I need this so bad 😭 having such a difficult time finding good fabrics atm (probably doesn’t help that I borderline refuse to use synthetic fabrics)
Totally recommend modernising the first dress to fit you. It is just so your style and colour. That liberty fabric at $50 a meter is amazing, but ouch, talk about hurting your wallet. The way I justify spending so much on good quality fabric is to price a bespoke designer item, and then price what I can sew the same garment for. A designer blouse can easily cost several hundred dollars, so spending $50 on the fabric is a bargain. Also, my time is valuable to me, so spending 5 hours to design and sew a garment justifies using a good quality fabric that should make an item that I will get years of use out off.
It’s a shame we no longer have Ruche in Launceston as most of their fabrics came from Tessuti. The Sewing Centre in York Street sort of picked up where Ruche left off but I’m not sure if they still get their fabrics from Tessuti.
Fabulous haul, Janelle. I look forward in seeing what you make.😀 It's a shame that you are not in Melbourne this up and coming weekend. The Finders Keeper's market is on. 😀
Even $22 a metre is expensive I think. No wonder people shop at K-Mart. 😟 I hope to find some decent fabric from the op shops in Brisbane, once I have some time to actually go, which will be a couple of months.
Wow amazing retro fabrics! I would have lost my mind in those thrift shops & gone completely broke with no care for even food or shelter! 😄 Btw If you’ve never had your color analysis done it appears that you are a true autumn with warm earthy & peach tones being your best match. Also this always reminds me of how many Laura Ashley dresses I made myself in the late ‘80’s…wishing I had kept them.😏
Glad you had a great time in Melbourne, it’s a great city. Not so much during lockdown but we’re on our way back. Are fabric purchases tax deductible for you given it’s a legitimate business expense?
Yeah I can’t imagine how hard it would’ve been during lock down. It was so nice to finally be able to visit again! Yes, most of my fabric purchases are business expenses 😊
I was so excited to see Tessuti Fabrics. I love their fabrics and styles. Also loved seeing the beautiful fabrics gifted to you! Lucky!!!

We had those vintage bed sheets at home growing up - grew up in a home built in the 1950's, a retro dream!

Recently watch the whole Laura Ashley story, also aware of liberty style prints. $50 /metre, yikes!
So excited for your upcoming makes! And specially thrilled about the posibilities with that lovely dress you thrifted ♥
The high neckline dress in the vintage pattern would look gorgeous using the mustardy brown floral stripe sheets, with the stripes running vertically
