Gorgeous fabric! Tu as beaucoup de goût. I would really enjoy seeing your footage from you time in Japan and Korea. Lovely places to dream about. Merci et bonne chance dans ta couture. Brigitte from Montreal, Québec
That second piece! Oh, my gosh. So beautiful! Japan's fabrics are gorgeous! I'd be in heaven if I was in a Japanese fabric store since I have an obsession with Fabrics. I don't sew but I love fabrics.
Yes! The fabrics I saw there were unlike anything I've seen or touched before, it was such a treat! And I totally understand a fabric obsession outside of sewing, textiles are fascinating
Japan is on my must visit someday list. I really enjoyed seeing the fabric section because that’s exactly where I’d be going. I can’t wait to see all your makes with such beautiful treasures. 😊
Thank you for sharing your travels and shopping. It sounds like lots of fun. Fabric fondling is acceptable, your purchases were beautiful and the connection to your grandma makes it all the more special. All the best with your wedding dress.
Loved this vlog, thankyou for sharing your travels, the fabrics are stunning, also the haberdashery and souvenirs you bought, I dream of going to Japan, but think realistically it will just be a dream. So thankyou again for sharing the pictures. X Congratulations on your upcoming wedding xx
Thank you so much! I do hope one day you'll be able to go to Japan, it's a beautiful country and I've never experienced such wonderful hospitality in all of my travels ❤️
Oh la la…..your choices of fabric is absolutely beautiful. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!! I can’t wait to see your wedding dress and paying homage to your Grandma is absolutely touching and gracious. She would be so proud of you.
You picked up some absolutely beautiful fabrics! Hopefully the robe is a quick sew so that you can get it done in time because it would look gorgeous in your wedding pictures!
Thank you very much, for the information , I am going to Japan in a few months and I am very excited to buy some fabrics too, to do some nice sewings. Your chosen fabrics are beautiful.
I’ve come to enjoy watching your videos and look forward to them as well. This was a lovely post on your adventure in Japan and now I can look forward to your makes with the fabrics you bought. I’m excited to see your wedding makes too!! Thank you for sharing🤗
I really like your enthusiasm around sewing. I watched this on my tablet, and will be having another look on my TV to get a better/bigger look at the gorgeous prints you chose. Have a good day. K
Very interesting to hear about your trip. I think the robe idea is great, it would be so pretty on you. Of course the wedding dress is more important! I hope you enjoy this time in your life and not feel to much pressure ❤
Love Japanese cottons, they're so soft and wash beautifully. You can make some nice tops and skirts with the shorter lengths. The last pink from Mihama is gorgeous. So many great and unique finds and how wonderful to honor your grandmother on your wedding day. Side note this video seemed to have a lot of jumps. Maybe from editing.
Thanks for sharing all your beautiful things you found on your trip! It’s been really interesting to follow you on your trips in Taipei and Tokyo, I watched lots of your ”stories” on Instagram. The fabrics are gorgeous and I look forward to see your makes in the future!
Oh my--just seeing this 3 months after you posted--hope you had an amazing wedding & finished your gown & robe as you wanted it! Fabric #1, hope you make it into a dress!
I just love your fabrics, especially the 1 metre cuts. What a amazing shopping area I certainly would have been overwhelmed . So hard to decide. Can't wait to see what you make. All the best Deb @ Sewing seams with Deb channel
Thank you for mentioning your plans about making a robe for your wedding! I didn't think about that yet, but I'll might want to make one too for my wedding this summer. The fabrics are great!
Thank you for sharing your fabrics. We are going to Japan in October. We'll be in Tokyo for 2 weeks, so much appreciate you sharing information about Nippori x
Lovely video! I've been to Japan once only and had a lovely time. I went to Gotokuji Temple and my inn was in Asakasa. The fabric stores look lovely - it must have been so hard to choose! I think that robe will be lovely. Can't wait to see your wedding dress!
Thank you for your message and I'm so glad that you were able to experience Japan too! It was indeed very hard to choose which fabrics I wanted to take home with me 😊
HI Sarah, I love tulip needles...my FAVOURITE for hand sewing are the Tulip Big Eye Appliqué Needles Size #10. Just a recommendation if you are still searching for that perfect needle :) Happy sewing!
Thank you for the tip! I realized later that it was the size 10 that I should have bought, oops! I'll keep an eye out for the one you mentioned and I can't wait to try it!
Thank you for another fun video!! I once went to Nippori for fabric shopping around 6pm without knowing almost all the stores close before 6. 😂😂😂 After your wedding and when you have enough time, maybe will you show us what you packed for the trip?? I’m sure many of your beautiful handmade clothing went with you! Thank you again for the video!!!
Oh no! That must have been such a letdown! I'm glad that you're interested in seeing which handmades I packed! I admit, the week or two before I left was hectic and I was super stressed, so I didn't do it this time, but I'm going to London for work soon and I'm thinking of showing which handmades I'm bringing to that trip!
The fabric tour guide I had in my first Nippori trip said that first store you went to is targeted at people in Bhutan who often wear a wrapped skirt and that the size and texture of that fabric suited that use.
@@Sarah_Naomiit was great especially because it was so overwhelming to see so many fabric shops in one area and with such cheap prices compared to Australia. I found my guide on trip advisor and she’s a sewist too. I was the only person on my tour and she tailored the two hours we had to my interests and also gave me a cheat sheet of phrases.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful fabrics and mementos with us, I look forward to seeing what you create with the fabrics after your wedding xxxM
Thank you! In most of the shops the fabric was pre-cut and packaged with the quantities marked in western numerals (I think that's what they're called) and Japanese, and then at the Tomato shop, I was able to show on my fingers how much I wanted (and the fabric is cut in meters). Another choice is to use a calculator to show numbers when there's a big language barrier. I hope that helps!
Подписалась на Ваш канал. Потому что также обожаю ткани, аксессуары, и как раз буду в Токио через две недели. Очень хочу попасть в этот район тканей. Скажите, а есть ли в Японии действительно натуральный японский шелк?
Hello, sorry that I can't reply in Russian, but I'm glad that you'll be exploring Tokyo soon! As for finding Japanese silk, I really don't know. But there are so many fabric shops in Nippori Fabric Town that I'm certain there's a good chance you might find some there!
I don't know, I've never looked for or bought scissors in Japan. However, I love my micro-serrated Kai scissors which is a Japanese brand and that I bought in France. I hope that helps!

Have a great trip! Nippori fabric town is located in the northeast of Tokyo, so I would say at least 30min from Shinjuku.
The fabric tour guide I had in my first Nippori trip said that first store you went to is targeted at people in Bhutan who often wear a wrapped skirt and that the size and texture of that fabric suited that use.

Are scissors something worth buying in Japan? If so, is there a specific store you would suggest ?

Do you know if you need to prewash the fabric?
I’m not sure, but I think I will pre wash them very carefully just in case they shrink a bit!

Hello Sarah.
Je découvre ta chaîne et j'aime son contenu.
A l'avenir aurons nous les vidéos en francais ?
Belle journée
Hello! Merci ! Et pour des vidéos en français à l'avenir, j'y réfléchirai 😊
How long is the width of the fabric ?
Is it about 140 cm ?
Hello! Which one?
