It was my company car, and it was a real pleasure to be able to meet Rob at Stafford on Monday evening. Accidents happen, and thankfully, no one was injured apart from pride. It will be as good as new in a few days and will be an absolute bargain for someone to buy. Lumbar support on the drivers seat, heated front seats, full main dealer service history, all recalls done. Thanks for being so complementary to me and Clare Rob.
i always love watching these guys , be awsome to meet them one day , iv learnt alot about car issues and repairs , thank u robb and chris .. awsome work
Hi Rob & Chris, A friend of mine started a new job as a lorry driver recently on his first trip out the boss rang him to see how things we’re going and he told the boss he had damaged the door mirror, so the boss said not to worry accident’s happen and asked how he broke the mirror. So the driver told him it broke when the lorry rolled over 😂🤫🤐🤭 Happy Christmas guys
We all felt your pain Rob, we’ve all done something similar and felt terrible about it, ultimately it’ll fixed and sold, no harm done. It’s brilliant to be so open and honest about it!
Rob, it's hard to even imagine how awful you felt when that happened. However, the way in which you are approaching this with Chris is a testament to your relationship, and partnership. It's an unfortunate mistake. I'm sure you are grateful that you are surrounded by such good friends and partners that make things like this more bearable. It really is a nice car!
This type of video is exactly why we all enjoy watching the channel. Honesty, humour and a positive attitude ! Pleased youre both going to see a few quid back lads!
Well it is almost Christmas. So instead of a pantomime you gave us Salvage Rebuilds on ice. A great heart warming festive episode. Thanks for keeping us entertained. Happy Christmas from Greece. Καλές γιορτές με υγεία και αγάπη
Total respect for always being so genuine and honest. Even when it’s a little embarrassing. World would be a boring place if everything was perfect mate.
Things like this happen all over the world Rob, you did the right thing, smile and get on with it. We have all been there, so, good luck and blessins to you both.
Could have cried for you Rob but you give us that million dollar smile and Chris was the top man his comes across as and understands it’s an accident/mistake and its all good. You two make your vids real for so many people, keep in your mistakes and honesty and we all like you both more for it 👍
What a top bloke Ian is for offering you the car and then delivering it to you to help out. As others have said stuff happens but somebody will be getting a cracker of a car
Could have have happened to anyone Rob so don't fret. Great to see the way you and Chris dealt with it. Such positivity and honesty! What a great friendship you guys have.
Chris: "I'm a bit nervous about buying a straight car." Rob: "Yeah. I know, I'm bricking it." Sorry mate. Couldn't resist. I can only imagine how gutted you must have felt but you have a policy about being open and honest and the comments I've read reflect that. A great team who support each other. That alone is like gold these days. Stupid accidents happen. 👍👍
Hi Rob and Chris. Rob u r only human accidents do happen I wish u and Chris and both your familys a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. And all of the other subscribers to the channel unfortunately I'm working Xmas eve/day. I am a key holder for the TYNE and Wear metro system I lock 11 stations down and open them up every night. God all u all. Andy C
These things happen, great to see Chris taking it so well & good to see you both smiling about it in the end. At least you've saved on demolition costs for the wall. All the best chaps 👍🏻
Accidents, happen Rob, proof what a great team yourself and Chris make. Fantastic content as always. Have a great Xmas both, have a cracking new year .
Magic! Rob, I know just how feel. Just had a guy park his Vito van on my drive while he picked up one of my drum kits. He parked right by house, just inches away from the wall. We then had a great chat about cars and motorbikes we had over the years. Went to load the drum kit and we discovered the van had moved 5 feet down the drive. He had parked on crusty snow. Luckily it slid slowly, not so dramatic as yours but what a lesson. You and Chris, what a team!
We have all been there! Glad you uploaded this one - what a legend Chris is and he is so right you guys are a team! At least you can laugh about it now Rob
The comment you made about not having the heart to tell the bricklayer to stop work cause you didnt like it is excatly why you are such a genuine person m8
I did exactly the same in a new house in a 3 series in similar conditions, car slid straight through the garage door. Lesson learnt, these things happen.
I so love the way Chris is so supportive - could have been a quarter panel and light. You gents are a legendary team as always. Good luck on the sale when it's ready - lovely motor for someone there.
You wouldn’t get to do the bulk of your work without other peoples accidents, admire your honesty and great relationship between you and Chris. Look forward to next years output!
Your a couple of really nice genuine blokes, really enjoy watching, accidents happen we have all done it and learn hopefully from them. It is what it is.
I watch all your videos guys, always leave a like but don’t often comment. Fair play to you Rob for sharing the full story and for keeping positive when you must of been sick inside. Chris continues to show the quality of his character through his reactions and fair treatment of you in all you do. Keep up the great work guys 🍻
I can see you are obviously gutted Rob but the important thing is no one's been injured and the wall can be rebuilt as you want it this time. Thank you to you and Chris for all the videos, have a good Christmas and all the best for 2023 boys.
Hello Rob, well, there is a little bit of damage, but, NO ONE is hurt! Like you have said it is no use crying about it, put on a smile!!! Best wishes from Lincolnshire
Hi guys, it happens mate, very tired, get home late, an ya dint like the wall anyway lol. Good on ya Chris, true teamwork you guys, love your channel, even more respect.
We've all done it mate, nobody was hurt, just your pride has taken a small knock. Great content guys and like others are saying, respect for leaving it in.
It happens Rob. You’ve also sent out a reminder to all rear wheel drive car owners that winter presents additional risks…winter tyres prep worth considering for some owners too. Glad you werent hurt though, That really would have been bad news
Guys, great video and appreciate the honesty! If it makes you feel any better, I used to work for a Ford Main dealer back in the 1980's. We had a transporter deliver 6 brand new Y Reg Sierras for our Sierra Launch night. As they were unloaded off the transporter, we had to take them round the back of the workshops for a PDI before we put them in the showroom. I jumped in a 2.0Ghia in Diamond White, and thought what a fabulous car. Stuck it in reverse, straight back into the Car Rental Reception door and knocked it off its hinges! It can happen to anyone! :-(
It's a horrible feeling when you are just sliding on snow and ice and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it except wait to see what happens. Gutted for you both but that's life, it happens to the best. Chris is such a gent too. At least you'll make a little bit of profit out of it. Great content as usual guys, keep it up 👍
Could have done with you a couple of months back when I had to knock a wall down out the front of my house! Seriously though, these things happen - you'll get the car sorted and it'll all be fine. Well done for putting this out there and not hiding away from it 👍
Rob glad you kept it in as shows how real you guys are,it's a bummer obviously but could have happened on the way home which would have been worse,I've gotta say I like the little spoiler on the boot, love Chris at the end saying if anyone wants any rubble🙈🤣good you'll still make a good profit aswell🙂👍
Rob, I feel your pain. A couple of years ago, I spun my E36 on some ice on an untreated road and hit a dry stone wall (no traction control). Unfortunately, the damage was a bit more than yours. I have recently traded it in for a 2009 Mercedes W204 C200. Respect to you for fessing up to this. It speaks volumes about your honesty and integrity. At least you saved money on demolishing the wall that you hated so that's one positive you can take from it.
Rob and Chris are the most honest car repair people on this planet Rob has mentioned many a time dodgy garage repair to some of the vehicles the bought
Hi Rob & Chris, big shout out to Ian & his wife for meeting you & offering you guys the car, shame what has happen to the car but nothing major & as for the wall, you didn't like any way lol.
At least you are okay, these things happen and it could have been worse. Love Chris being pragmatic - "the best place ya could have hit it", that's the right mentality! Car will be grand in no time
Absolutely gutted for you. I've been driving over 25+ years and nothing. Last week in front of my boss who was helping me reverse my van out of the roller shutter I hit the steel upright. I felt gutted. Something I've done countless times since the van was new. But as my boss and Chris have both said. Accidents happen. And nobody was hurt which is the important thing. Keep up the good work.
I did exactly the same thing one very icy night in 1985 , pulled up on my drive and the next thing the car was sliding into my garage , only problem was the door was shut CRUNCH ! So its no big thing its why its called an accident. Still enjoyed the vid and as always your honest approach to all you do.
Respect guys. It's why I'm here loving each and every video. Warts and all. Both honest, fair, humble and an absolute pleasure to watch. Keep up the great content guys.
Well done Rob, you've made me feel much better, I picked a new (to me) motorhome up and a couple of days later managed to try and demolish my drive wall with it! Oh well, that's life!
Mistakes happen to all of us Rob! Keep doing what you do and best of luck getting it sorted. It’s still going to be a lovely car for someone, albeit they’ll have to wait a few more days 😊
Hi Rob and Chris, I worked for a Manchester based Company for 20 years and was supplied with 5 series BMWs I averaged 70k per year and the cars lasted me circa 15 month as Lex wanted them on the block before 90k, like the one you have bought I cleaned all my cars ever week and kept them mint condition, I could average circa 55k on tyres and an average 57 mpg (Diesel). It is good to see the car you bought has been looked after untill you broke it,but I am sure it will be right, love the show, good luck for the future
Oh Rob, I’m absolutely gutted for you in regards to that damage to the boot lid and the wall. These things happen, but it doesn’t make it feel any better.
It's unfortunate what happened with the car but to be honest I'm glad you're okay and that it wasn't worse than that. Honestly, Chris is a good friend and he is the type of friend you keep for life because he was very understanding and supporting, which is exactly what you needed. As they say to error is human and to have people who acknowledge that is a blessing, continue being good to each other. PS I'm a huge fan of your work.😊🙌
Hey Rob, dont beat yourself up over this, you and Chris are 100% good guys. To make an error is human, youve proved youre human. Hindsight is 20:20 vision. Brilliant channel, lovely people, keep up the good work.
Like you said getting stressed over it doesn’t change things, you just move on. Looking on the bright side at least it wasn’t the Gallardo!! Best wishes to you both.
Rob. We’ve all been there. I had a brand new car 2 years ago, I have a sloped driveway and it had snowed. I sensibly parked it at the top of the drive…2 hours later the car (on its own) slid down the drive and thumped through my gates….it happens! Keep going!
Rob these things happen . No one got hurt just a bit of pride and a wall you didn't like , & a boot lid , The car will get fixed the wall will get rebuilt , but the main thing is your still here to tell us about it , & that is what matters . Looking forward to next video guys . Keep em coming ....
2 things guys. 1 at the start of the video you said "you live and learn" 2 we all make mistakes but you can't be hard on yourself and as a team you make mistakes together. Love the videos and honesty. All the best and have a great Xmas.
I guess BMW now stands for: Broke My Wall :P Seriously though Rob, it can happen to anyone, especially on ice, on a steep driveway. I'm glad it wasn't worse for you :) Keep safe
Everybody appears to be getting served up with a lot of end of year bad luck, I was 4 long bus trips to visit my old mum for her birthday, it's been -7 & -9 up here in Ayrshire and surrounding areas, when I got back home my welcome was a burst pipe in my downstairs toilet, water is all off and some of the electrics until the morning. Ever get the feeling it's going to be a right ''B'' of a winter. Thanks again fella's.
I'm really glad you enabled the comments. After reading a few its great to see such a caring community.Weve all had accidents metal can be repaired the main thing is you walked away.Great see you and Chris having a laugh about it.Both top men looking forward to many more videos and laughs.
Shit happens 😢 its all about how you recover and move on. Was just talking to my daughter in England yesterday about the snow. I don’t miss that one little bit as i live in Aus, and 32c days now 🥵🥵 Great vid, keep up the good work you both do 👍👍
You are too honest not to show your minor dink and I, for one, applaud you for it. At least you weren’t hurt or anyone else for that matter. Your pride probably has a bigger dent. Keep ‘em coming.
Honestly Rob, fair play to you for putting it in, shows how honest you both are, and at the end of the day we are all human. Accidents happens mate and luckily it’s not too bad. This just makes me love this channel even more.
I lost it on the ice today back end of my van went right I was lucky to control it! Been driving since I was 16 I'm 43 now and I've learnt from bad experiences in the past to keep calm, it doesn't matter we all mess up! At 20 I brought a Vauxhall astra off a forecourt took it home first day slipped o drive smashed the door in😁
Rob, accidents happen in this bad weather mate - thankfully it was only a wall and a panel damaged, and not an accident you were injured in at all - so that’s great that you aren’t harmed through it at all. Still great content, and so good to see the openness of the channel from you and Chris too.
Back in 1973 I was 19 and working at my dad's petrol station/garage in Putney he let me collect my mum's brand new Triumph Herald convertible from the steroe radio installers in the King's Road Chelsea about 10 minutes drive away. The car had done about 15 miles, and my mum hadn't even seen it as it was a present for her. I collected the car and pulled out into a completely clear road (or so I thought) only to have a fully laden dump truck of earth and rocks drive over the front of the car. It completely flattened the bonnet, engine, wheels, the whole front half of the car, the Herald was a complete write-off and I also did £3,500 damage to the lorry....oops, at least no-one hurt, except my pride and I didn't live it down for many years. These things happen it's part of life.
Hey, Rob repairing cars is what you guys do best. The main thing is your ok. As I said on your Instagram post you’ve managed to salvage it. These things happen. Glad Chris laughed and east the embarrassment. The channel is very honest and transparent, and that’s because your genuine people. Keep safe guys.
Mate, I totally feel you on this. I had the most pathetic crash some years ago in similar weather. I had a 2.0 Mondeo Estate at the time, fully loaded with band gear (amps, etc). I was driving around the estate, complete ice on the roads, less than 10mph. At some point, I didn't realise there was a road hump, thought it was a bit further up but it was completely obscured with snow and ice. It just happened to be where the road curved round but that caused all traction to just disappear. Whatever traction I did have going at a snails pace, just went. There was nothing I could do at all. No response from steering, accelerator, brakes, no nothing, I just glided at a snails pace into this house's big cast iron gates. There was a good 5-6 seconds where I was just watching it happen. The car was alright, guy came out of the house and was cool, just exchanged details. As he was writing down, a BMW appeared and did the exact same thing and went headfirst into my door. So even though my car was totally undamaged, 3 minutes later it was making friends with a BMW. Exact same thing, lost traction over the speed hump and that was it. Turned it into a big ol' insurance job. I have a petrol automatic Focus now, managed to get it nearish home a few days ago when the snow first stared, I've just left it sat where it is. It's about a 5 minute walk away but it's parked and it can stay there for a few days. I'm not risking trying to drag it around my road as it is still totally like an ice rink. Not to labour the point, I'm current sat looking out my front window watching my neighbour trying to get his Astra moving and it's not having it. Sometimes people will be all jack the lad, saying how there's a million things you could have done, or how they would have done it better and what not. Yeah, when you lose traction at any speed in this weather, there's not a lot to be done really. I had it too after my incident above, loads of types trying to tell me how to recover it. Mate, when the car controls are doing nothing and you have 2-3 seconds to decide that fact, there's not a lot to be done. Sorry to see the state of the car now, but c'est la vie. At least it wasn't on a motorway meeting the business end of a truck or something. It's a wall and a boot lid, you'll laugh about it and tell cautionary tales next time we get a bad spell and that's that.
Hey. We all make mistakes. I wrecked a front wing and two doors on mine. First accident, but did it really good then. I'd found used parts and painted it myself. We live and we learn. Keep up the good work and have a laugh. Noone was badly hurt. That's the main thing. Have a nice weekend.
My cottage in Scotland has the frontage onto a hotel car park. One time a car skidded off the road into my garden wall and demolished part of it. I can't remember now if I claimed on the drivers insurance but it kind of did me a favour. I tidied up the hole and created an extra parking space. My existing parking space had often got blocked by beer lorries etc. delivering to the hotel.
Love the positive spin on the fact you hated the wall anyway can't beat a positive attitude keep up the good content gents and merry Christmas to you both

There should be more Ian Simms in this world, a genuine top bloke, an what a lovely car, looks mint, I hope to buy it, when it pops up on Instagram..
Rob and Chris you had a little knock and you sorted it and you won’t be out of pocket ! So as the old saying goes s### happens

I admire your honesty, Rob, and once again, Chris shows us the true gentleman he is. You make a great team, so keep up the great work and videos.
I always call them the dream team, great mates, and work brilliant together. A top combination.

Rob. The man who never made a mistake, never made anything. Love the videos. 👍
Made a dam good job of the wall. Might ask you to come knock mine down in the new year…. Bring the beemer 😂😂
Never fixed anything either 🤣
That's exactly what my mum used to tell us 👍 no harm done and the ugly wall dealt with 😄
@@craig5820 what a daft thing to say
@@sruk I think he was just saying you can’t fix things without making mistakes as well. Why was it daft

PS I'm a huge fan of your work.😊🙌
We’ve all being there Rob ! Accidents happen, chin up move on & onto the next project 👍👍👍
Hey Rob, dont beat yourself up over this, you and Chris are 100% good guys. To make an error is human, youve proved youre human. Hindsight is 20:20 vision.
Brilliant channel, lovely people, keep up the good work.
Being transparent is a massive part of this channel,it happens to the best of us,chin up and on to the next, cheers
It is an awful feeling but no one was hurt and damage can be put right. Well done to you both for a great channel 👍
That must of been heartbreaking, you didn’t have to show that, shows what a great attitude you guys have, fair play to you 👏🏻👏🏻
Like you said getting stressed over it doesn’t change things, you just move on. Looking on the bright side at least it wasn’t the Gallardo!! Best wishes to you both.
Gutted for you Rob. On a lighter note.
Does that mean BMW now stands for Break My Wall. Thanks for all the content you both put out.
Rob. We’ve all been there. I had a brand new car 2 years ago, I have a sloped driveway and it had snowed. I sensibly parked it at the top of the drive…2 hours later the car (on its own) slid down the drive and thumped through my gates….it happens! Keep going!
Nice video guys! It’s a shame about the accident but it happens unfortunately! Keep up the videos!
As long as you’re safe, Rob, that’s the most important thing. No shame and no making fun of you! Both of you boys be safe out there.
Rob, you’ll do anything to make good content 😂
Happens to the best bud 👍
Rob these things happen . No one got hurt just a bit of pride and a wall you didn't like , & a boot lid , The car will get fixed the wall will get rebuilt , but the main thing is your still here to tell us about it , & that is what matters . Looking forward to next video guys . Keep em coming ....
2 things guys.
1 at the start of the video you said "you live and learn"
2 we all make mistakes but you can't be hard on yourself and as a team you make mistakes together.
Love the videos and honesty.
All the best and have a great Xmas.
Oh my god I feel for you, such a unfortunate thing to happen to you and Chris.
I guess BMW now stands for:
Broke
My
Wall :P
Seriously though Rob, it can happen to anyone, especially on ice, on a steep driveway. I'm glad it wasn't worse for you :) Keep safe
That had definetly been a wall too long Rob 🤣
I don’t miss that one little bit as i live in Aus, and 32c days now 🥵🥵 Great vid, keep up the good work you both do 👍👍
Sickening! You’ve both dealt with it in the best possible manner & it shows how strong your partnership is. On to the next one 💪🏻💪🏻
We have a saying in Yorkshire its ,I bet you didn't want to do that 😉, I'm glad you didn't get hurt ,
Can’t even banter Rob over this to lighten things up, because he’s too nice a guy and I bet he feels genuinely terrible about that!
No stick Rob, this channel is built on honesty and it would have been worse to leave it out mate. Life happens, you bend em, you mend em.
Hi Rob and Chris, guy's one of those things, slight damage, no one hurt.!! Alex.
Love your honesty Rob. But it's because you're both genuine I watch the channel.
Fair play mate love the honesty don’t be so hard on yourself
Love the positive spin on the fact you hated the wall anyway can't beat a positive attitude keep up the good content gents and merry Christmas to you both
Aww bless you Rob!Accidents happen to the best of us and its still a lovely car for someone! At least it shows how honest you guys are.xx
this why so many people love your channel honesty
