I’ve been looking to do something for my son and his medals , dagger etc , it’s been almost a year since he was killed in action in Ukraine , your work has inspired me to have a go at something similar . Probably won’t be as complex . Here in the uk we call these “display cases” .
Wow, another great build Jon! Thanks for sharing that you don’t have a huge dedicated workshop to achieve your results. It’s good to know my neighbor is making these cool items! 👏🏽👊🏽
I like how you mentioned at the beginning it’s done in your garage, not a workshop. I’ve built many projects the same way. Nice looking shadow box. I like how you did the faceplate curve. My first cured shadow box, I screwed the look up by not having the wood grain in the same direction as the sides. I learned, but ran into the guy I made it for last year and 21 years later it’s still on his wall. That was a good feeling…
Paul, thanks for the comment. I know that feeling that you are talking about. I love running into people that I have built for and although I feel I could do so much better now, they are still thrilled with the end product.
Just came across this video..I must say that box looks awesome..I want to build something similar to put a few things from when my grandad was in the 101st airborne at the tail end of the Korean War..great vid buddy
Another great video!! I find it’s very important to include as much detail as possible. I particularly like when you show the process of mounting the items in the box, unfortunately you didn’t show that this time.
Thanks for the feedback. I though the video was long enough so I did not include it. I could make it a stand alone video and link it at the end and in the description.
@@JONSDIY that would be cool but I think most of your subscribers would love to see the whole process of attaching all the pieces to the board and how you do it. I will watch longer videos as long as they’re to the point and have details about everything. Your videos don’t have useless blabbing to extend content and that’s what everyone likes!! Keep up the great videos, Jon!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

That is friggin amazing. As a retired Vet and a hobbyist woodworker, you have no idea how much I appreciate your video.
Thanks Mark for the comment. And thanks for your service!
