I’m so happy for you and your family.
We live in central Kentucky and cost of living is even higher here than in Tennessee.
So many of us viewers live vicariously through you. I spent my childhood watching and helping my dad like you get to with your boys.
We lost dad two months ago in the middle of a 71 Camaro restoration. Probably his 14th restoration.
It’s been comforting stumbling upon this channel and getting to relive my old memories on a screen infront of me.

I think Jessica is fast witted. The boys are old-fashioned respectful around their folks. No bad language or bad attitude between them, all practical boys entrusted to their own dirt bikes. Lucky lads, IMO. Derek is the luckiest, with Jessica! Mind you, he works really hard.

@@GT380man the boys do carry themselves with a lot of respect.. More than 90% of kids these days.. Which is awesome and Jessica and a guy have done/will keep doing what parenting should be. But don't be fooled by the guys only talk if talked to way about them... Have to remember who the parents are hear.. And Derek slips a few sailor words even in videos sometimes.. It's rare and not saying the boys cuss.. But they have wits about them for sure.. I'm sure off camera they are 98% the same but I promise you those boys smart off when it's the time and place for it. It may even be dead pan or so slight and sneaky a normal none smart ass person would miss..
And REMEMBER fellas and fellets it's ALWAYS better to be called a smart ass than a dumb ass. And always reply with that when called a smart ass.... Not much a person can come back with on that note

People are wondering why he would put the powder coated wheels on there, but I am wondering why he wouldn't rebuild those lug nuts. Lol! Loving that plasma table. It is amazing how much it changes your capabilities. I guess I should go put a clutch in my car now. Not looking forward to it. She's been in since new and lasted 147,000 miles. So I guess I can't really complain too much. Going to go ahead and do the axle shafts, seals, and rear main seal that has been leaking like a sieve for about 50,000 miles.

Thanks for the entertainment Derek. I'm disabled after getting crushed under my car while working on it. Being able to watch a guy turn them metric and standard Vice Grips on the many different fine machines a feller comes across is a close second to actually busting up the knuckles on my own butt scratchers. So thanks for keeping that content coming, it's more than just entertainment for some of us!!! I want to do something really similar to your revival series with a very special truck to me. My great grandfather that lives in Texas has a 1978 gmc Sierra heavy half flavor, 2wd longbed straight 6 with 3 on the tree. It's been parked up since 2012 and only has 96k miles on it. It was purchased brand new in 1978 by my great great grandfather here in Ohio. It now lives in Texas, and I plan to drive down, fix it, and drive it 1300 miles home. That truck has been in the Sargent family since day 1, and I'd love to go down and save it. It will be my 2nd square revival. Initially, I planned to trailer it, but thanks to your videos, I've added it to my bucket list that I'd prefer to drive it home! The only thing stopping me is that I'm saving up the financials so I can throw some new parts at it. Keep doing what you're doing, I truly enjoy your content.

I have learned so much from you and just want to thank you for going through cars and showing how to fix them. I learn more from you than anyone else and you make us laugh! Merry Christmas and happy new year to you and your beautiful family! I really want the ramp truck!!

Seen guys take square tubing and weld or bolt on those hoods to support that crush joint! Those hoods were engineered and designed to bend like they do in an accident! So the hood would fold in a front collision! The hoods on the previous body styles would sometimes go through the windshield in front collisions! The 67 through 72 gm truck hoods were alot more stiff and took alot of force to fold up! The 60 through 66 gm truck hoods were even more stronger! But everyone has trouble with the 73 through 80 hoods! Gm changed the design in 81 and made a big improvement! Never seen the 81 through 91 hoods fold like the older style!

All you talk about is money, who tf cares how much Derek makes. Maybe spend less time being an asshat keyboard warrior and more time touching some grass, you too could make a lil money.
