Echo SRM 225 is a GREAT trimmer. Been using mine for 10 years, never had to have it in for service, it always starts ! Prime the bulb '8' times when cold ... she fires up every time. It's the best !
I bought a SRM - 225 not long ago, and I am very happy with it. The longer shaft length and the speed feed head make this a really nice trimmer. I’ve never owned an ECHO product before, and I actually hesitated purchasing this trimmer, but I’m glad I went ahead and bought it. Bang for the buck, I think it’s a great value.
Just myself doing 30 residents. Bought the SRM 225 from Home Depot today... it's twice as powerful as my old Husqvarna whip. Plus speed feed?? Luxury at $199.
I just moved into my retirement home in gulfshores, now I have 30,000 sq ft to mow & trim. I bought the 225 trimmer at home depot. Thinking it's the best $200.00 trimmer available!
Been using mine 8 years with non ethanol fuel and synthetic mix and never had anything replaced. Fires up 1-2 pulls every-time. Just bought one for 50$ used with a broken head and put a 20$ head on it and now have a spare.
My SRM 225 is 8 years old. I use It 5 days a week, sometimes on some pretty heavy stuff. I have always used non ethanol fuel in the mixture and have yet to replace anything. This paired with the Oregon gator line and that trimmer is no doubt comparable to any brand for normal residential trimming.
That 225 has impressed me also we swapt it to a echo articulated hedge trimmer and it does a fantastic job my hedge trimmer guy trims hedges all day long and he loves it cause it's very lightweight compared to the engine the articulated hedge trimmer had which was a 2620 engine which was a great engine but the 225 engine is lighter.
How do You guys work past the line getting jammed on the spool and NOT feeding out on the Speedfeed?? Then completely unspool and respool the line. This is NOT good for production. I get TOOO aggravated over this!
Just bought one off of Craigslist for 100 bucks, Mfg Date of Aug. 2017 and looks like new. It works better than I thought it would. I think Echo has stepped up their game because I also have the 590 cs Timber Wolf [240 bucks off CL] and cs 310 [110 bucks off CL] chainsaws and a little Echo pb-250ln leaf blower [75 bucks off CL like new] and they're a pleasure to run and so easy to start. Gotta keep em out of the sun here in Az. or they start fading and looking like that over priced Stihl stuff. Great video guys........
Just bought mine used with 8rs on it for 100 bucks and I was very impressed myself I have about 10 properties and it's an amazing little machine When I started using it I was like DAMN!! This things a beast!
BTW the Echo 2620T you mentioned, is one of the best weed eater I have ever used. I mowed grass for a company for 4 years and I really think the 2620T is better than a stihl. I’m an echo man now, try out the 2620T you will not be disappointed
He's grinning like "I'm about to put a hurting on the water jug!" yeah man! I'm pretty easy on a bump head, but my helper can clear and trim faster than I do; am I paying more for a race car...I reckon. I've just discovered you guys, and I'm enjoying the videos!
ive been using Redmax at work the BCZ260 IS A POWERFUL and LIGHT and I love it the only downfall is the spool pring wears out quickly id say try it out they're pretty damn good. but the BCZ260 is also the biggest commercial one they have my boss bought it but its a lot lighter than my Stihl FS 70
@@waynelynch3862 both I don’t use the guard because I get a bigger cutting area With the line and makes it easier for me to trim around things and get into small areas
@@RNLawnCare Sorry, I should of been more clear. Do you use a guard w/a brush blade? I just bought a SRM 225u (handlebars) for cutting a 300x25 ft trail, plus clearing a 25x100 ft overgrown dog pen... & then maintaining both. Hope to assemble it tomorrow. This is the first time I ever saw anything about not using the guard. Never used a brush blade, but no way I would try chopping saplings w/out the guard. Can't tell from the video, but I hope you at least have ear plugs. In my younger years, I worked in noisy environments, plus listened to rock & roll at full volume. Now i have to use C.C. to watch tv and my most used words are huh & what:) I really miss all the sounds that I no longer hear.
I've had my 225 for since 2014 they have changed small things over the years like the first ones didn't come with a speedfeed head, but my 225 does stall only when I'm edging and have the weeder at a weird angle and my tank is 1/4 full it sound like it wants to stall but when I notice I just give it a little shake
If the weed eater is on its side like when you're edging down the side of a walkway or sidewalk I've heard it can stall. My 225 is on its way in the mail and I'll update this when I have some real-world experience with it. I think you just need to be aware of where your fuel filter is. I have had that problem with my Husqvarna 225L but only when I'm edging a long walkway and forget to pay attention to the fuel level with respect to the filter.
What direction does the head spin if you are looking down the shaft? I have looked for over a month at this and the Stihl FS 56 Rc-e. Got the Stihl today and it’s counter clockwise. 15+ years of clockwise spinning trimmers so counter clock wise is really messing me up. Caught a rock in the lip today.
The motor runs great. My problem is with the string. After about 15-20 minutes of use my line breaks off inside the spool. When that happens I have to take it apart, pull the string off and restring the damn thing all over again. It's time consuming and very aggravating. I called the company and they didn't know what I was talking about. Any ideas what might be causing the line to break like that?
Not sure man what kind of string are you using i use speed feed heads on all of my equipment never had that problem though it could be the string you are using of not another speed feed head would be what I suggest.
R&N Lawn Care I know I will. Somebody just gave me a free old Snapper rider that needed work. I sold it and nearly paid for my trimmer.Yeah I am happy.Too damn rainy here for another week to use it.
I choose to buy the upgraded srm225i gets here Saturday, because i want to give the upgraded i75 easy starting system a try in the( i ) model.but if you don't care for the easy starting i75 system i would buy the 2620T but that more powerful unit 2320T and the regular srm225 still both have the older i30 starting system .easy start spend $40 more for the srm225i ,oh yea!i hope.lol
@@RNLawnCare just looked at it ,a monster.i have a yard almost as big as a football field, and will only use on my yard.i will try this fancy new new i75 starter out and i have like 90 days to return home depot,if its not amazing.but i've seen some amazing start up video's of this i75 thing on UA-cam.one guy had it on the ground not touching the unit and barely pulled the puller, the other a little kid started it.yea!
I have both the srm 225 & 230 both good weed eaters and affordable !....... But.............. I purchased a stihl fs94r and let me say this ..... guess where's my echo stuff @???? That's right in the garage somewhere 😂😂😂😂 love the stihl fs94r feels good, very light and power full! The echo feels like a tank now compared to the 94r

Great video and review, it's not a homeowner trimmer though, it will last as long as one of those stihls!
Mr. Cut Lawn Care, LLC good deal I hope it does that's for sure
we have a couple of them and the comparable 225 stick edgers with 6+ years commercial on them. not big power, but rock solid.

Do you still have your weed eater? How's it after 3 years.
