- In this video we show you how to remove a ceased up head, remove or re-install a guard, and re-string an Echo SRM-225. This process is similar across other Echo weed whips, and across different brands as well.
Thanks for posting. Couldn't remember how to remove the cap.
these last 8 yrs of owning a srm-225 ive taken the head apart to respool. thank you for showing me the correct way to simply twist you way to happiness. truly thank you
Thanks for watching! I love how easy these heads are to re-string. Much better than the old ones!
THanks so much! I watched all the videos of ECHOSRM-225 head removal and mine just kept unfeeding the line when I locked it and turned counter-clockwise. No one ever mentioned to take off the spool and try that way. With a little effort it came right off. Mine is over 10 years old. Thanks again!!
Quick help. Thank you
Great video. Just purchased Echo srm 225. Really helpful seeing this. A picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks.
Glad to help!
Both ends of the string broke off, and thanks to your video I was able to remove the head and restring. Thanks.
You're welcome! Glad it helped!
3 years later and this helped me out a lot Appreciate you brotha!! I hope you and your dad are doing well! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thank you! You solved my problem. Somehow I had threaded the string and every tap the string was going IN not out. Watched you video. Popped off the cap, removed the string and re-strung it. Easy for Pros like you, but frustrating for homeowners (and I didn't want to start using a screwdriver in the wrong place and destroying my $300 trimmer). Thanks again!!!
Glad it helped!
Thank you, after watching inumerable videos that showed everything except howw to get the bottom of the unit off, the bumber, yours was the only one you dealt with that issue.
Good job
Thank you sir, you are the Dean of You Tube University. Saved me a lot of time and head scratching after I purchased a replacement head with no instructions. Your video was precise and easily understood. Hope you are getting a case of beer from Echo every Christmas for your tutorials.
👍
Thanks for watching!
Thank You. Some mongo head 20 something decided to ultra tighten mine. Only by taking it apart and your trick @ 1:08 allowed me (58 y/o) to remove the head for adapting a brush cutter. TY again.
Dude thank you! I couldn't get mine off and didn't even think to use a screwdriver for Torque!! Got it off instantly! Thanks again
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video sir
Oh my gosh! I cannot say thank you enough for posting this video. Had string stuck in unit. Thought we was going to have to take this in to get a replacement head. Husband worked on the machine to get the string out with no success. Found this for him and between the two of us we now have it working again. Thank you!!!
Thank you for watching! Glad it helped you!
Super useful, much better than the manual. You just saved me a headache!
Thanks for watching! Check out some of our other videos!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU BROTHER! I couldn't get the head off but laying the screw driver across for leverage did it. Thank you again.
No problem! Glad you found the video!
I just bought a SRM-225, today( 08/12/2020). Thanks for the tutorial; easier than the manual, for sure.
You wont be disappointed had mine for about 9 years still going strong good investment
I'm on my second Echo TRIMMER, very good tools
No problem! You will love it. I used mine commercially for 2 years, and still use it at home after 3-4 years. Starts up every time!
Thank you. This was very helpful!! The head on mine randomly fell off and that metal piece in the center came with it.
I didn't know how to put it back together or how to rewind with string but now its fixed!!!
No problem! Thanks for watching!
it took me @1hr to do what u did in 3 min explaining!... lol.. but it helped. also does it matter what side up or down for the string feeder?... when I turned it over the string feed right away so I guess it does... GOOD VIDEO
Thanks! I don't think it matters but I tend to turn it with the whip upside down. If that makes sense. Lol
Great video highly appreciate it
Thank you. I had a string stuck inside head and couldn’t open the wheel, got a screwdriver as you suggested and it pop right away.
Thanks,
thank you Sir......very informative video.
. A decent video but did'nt answer my question. None of the videos I've watched have showed me what I was trying to find out. On the spool there is a "R" on one side with an arrow and a "L" on the opposite side' I just want t know if the R or the L should face out. Several years ago the videos available always showed this detail. Now I don't see it mentioned on any of the available vids.
Thank you so much ❤️💫
Just what I was looking for that Allen wrech is that just to hold the head so you can tighten with the screwdriver thanks again
Hey Todd! Yes, the allen wrench basically just locks the lower part of the head so that you can twist it off.
Great tutorial video…short and to the point. Thank you! 👍🏼👊🏼
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching! Check out some of our other videos as well!
So the inside part that has a L and R. Does it matter which side is up??
👏👏👏👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸 5-13-2023
I don't like this head because when I bump it, the string doesn't come out. Is their an alternative head replacement that fits because it tightens ccw which is not the norm.
Thank you!
@@michaelrodolico1246 I put the L side up.
The spindle inside mine can be placed in either direction. One side is stamped R and other L. If you are right handed (right hand on trigger) does the inner portion the string is wrapped around go back with R facing out or in?
I believe the R should face out. But that is a great question!
Lol I didn't read the directions when i bought this wacker, and took the head apart and took 2 pieces of string and tried to wind them up separately..........it didn't work

Nice!
Work
Ta głowica nie jest automatyczna? Nie ma guzika aby uderzyć o ziemie żeby żyłka się wysunęła?
My
Thanks for this. The head design on this weed eater is garbage. The space between the shadt and the head allows grass to accumulate which .use be removed occasionally as you cut higher grass.
Biggest issue with your video is tell people r down or left down
Did not make sense!!!! Way too fast
