    Echo PE 2620
    Echo PB 2520
    Echo PB 8010
    Echo RB 60
Stihl HS 45 (got it for free, fixed it up for $22)
(Edit: I also run all red armor oil in my equipment )

I envy the potential amount of business you have now compared to when I was 12 as well as the access to much better equipment. I was buying reconditioned mowers from Sears when I was your age and getting by on (at first) electric trimmers. I finally bought a gas one (again, reconditioned) that I had to learn how to maintain. About the only advantage I had over you was that the gas back then was much better and didn't mess up the carbs! Anyway, good job!

I have the 2620 high speed trimmer. the 2620 curved shaft edger and now i picked up the 2620 pas with 3ft extension, pole pruner and hedge trimmer. Soon to have the bed redefiner as well. It works well and great. trimmed a 10 ft bush from the ground. only needed to climb a ladder 3 rungs so i could see the top of the bush.

Have you used the srm266? Looks like it's the same displacement as the 2620 power head. I wonder if it's worth the added 1.9 pounds for the extra power. For a homeowner with less than an acre trimming and edging once or twice a week, do you think the 225 will handle everything just fine? Not like I'm going to be abusing it or running it hours a day commercially. The only downside I can see is the added weight and extra $100 for the upgrade. I'm coming from a 26.2cc MTD 4 stroke. But I still feel like either of these will be a big upgrade regardless lol. Apparently according to echos website the 266 is heavier than the 2620 I have no idea why since it's the same engine, but it's still 1/10th of a pound less than my old mtd/ ryobi! What do you think, is 21.2cc is 2 stroke power better than 26.2cc of 4 stroke mtd power?

I've got a PE-225 and a PB-500T currently and I previously have had a PB-500H and a SRM2100. The PE-225 is gutless but it gets the job done and it's the only edger in it's price class so I cannot complain. The PB-500T is a reliable workhorse, no real complaints. Whenever I think about Echo that's kind of what I see, a reliable no frills work horse. They don't update there product line too often either. From a service standpoint, I would rank them above Stihl but below Husqvarna. I don't like how they use tank grommets and an external fuel vent tubes.

I am trying to decide between the Shindaiwa T235 (same as the Echo SRM225 only in Shindaiwa Red and bit more commercially outfitted), the Stihl FS94 and the Husqvarna 522L. It has the 22.5 cc X-Torq engine. Shindaiwa and Husqvarna are $300 each while the Stihl is $400. Leaning toward the Husqvarna but I tried the 525LST a few years ago but did not like it since the head spun too slow and did not provide a nice clean cut. It would almost push the grass over but not cut it. This is why I'm hesitant to go with the 522L. as I don't want to have the same problem. Any advice?

I lived with a SRM 230 doing everything and anything with it for 9 years and the power was pretty good, and it NEVER gave me a single issue! I figure the 266 should have quite a bit more and be pretty comparable to the FS90R power wise. Man, mine was my grandfathers, its 12 years old and has probably only about 60 hours on it. It's been through 2 ignition modules, 2 carbs, fuel lines, fuel and air filters spark plugs and had the valves adjusted who knows how many times now. It runs real well when all tuned up but that doesn't last long. The carburetor is the most touchy thing to tune I've ever worked on, and I've tuned lots of small engine carburetors. I have to disagree. We have a PAS -225 and an older SRM model with plenty of power. Our SRM (commercial grade Echo) model is old but it's not miles above the 225. I put a shoulder strap and the Darwin grip on the 225 and I will never use the SRM anymore. The SRM is more powerful but if you're on a budget, the 225 will do just fine. If you're edging on a tuff yard, the commercial Echo is the better choice. If you're doing some clearing work, then yeah, the SRM is better. But everyday trimming, the 225 is fine.

@@exterminator1 Just my luck.. my PAS-225 started giving problems yesterday. It will run for around 30 mins. Once it gets hot, it wont restart until it cools down. I'm thinking it's the ignition coil. Had the same problem on our SRM-230. But it was almost 10 years old. You may be right about getting the commercial grade Echo. But I'm willing to bet, the ignition coils are all the same on the Echo models.

@@Ahch. try changing the spark plug first.Sounds dumb but they will do that.always try the easiest and cheapest first. But yea the commercial grade is literally night and day.So always get the best you can.Easier said then done i know.hope u figure it out bud

MONEY is the difference. Not worth the upgrade from the 225.
