Makes perfect sense I've had my 2 speed mini for 18 years and it still kicks butt. Amazing how much torque the 2 speeds have. I can remember mine pulling both me and my dad up a pretty serious hill with no problem.
did you guys ever make a modern version? i’ve been thinking of doing this for a few years now but dont have the money to get it figured out since im lacking the knowledge to get it in one try😂
GREAT video guys ! Man !..Those carts look like a ton of fun ! Many built go carts with snowmobile engines up here in New England. I bought a 40 hp snowmobile engine at a "flea market"', to mount on my minibike....waaaaay back in 73 ! lol. It never happened.... because my Uncle from New Hampshire called my Dad, and Dad told me he was selling his 1939 Pontiac Opera coupe...for 350.00. I bought it !! Got it running, and did burnouts in the driveway all summer long !! lol. I miss those days ! Peace.
Thanks again for hanging out with me and my son at the swap meet. Even though he clammed up and started playing with rocks, he was really excited to meet you guys and talked about you almost all the way home (an hour drive). Did Isaac ever figure out what kind of wasp that was that we saw? (Well, I, my son, and Isaac saw it. I don't know if John actually saw it while it was attacking him. LOL)
Man.. This looked like a dream week of hanging out with super cool peeps! One of these days I've gotta come out and experience this. Super jelly of you guys and the fun you have doing this!
John and Ike! Y’all need to come to Texas next year in May for the Texas Tiddler Run. 200 miles on old Texas country roads 100 in the morning and 100 in the afternoon. It’s in the Sabine Forest at Boles Field. It’s all a bunch of old bikes from 0-50cc, 51-125cc, 126-150cc, 151-305cc and an experimental class where it can be any kind of bike and run any engine as long as it’s an industrial engine. Please hit me up if you all want to come out to the race next year. They also have a food vendor and certain in field competitions in between races. Also the older the bike the more points you get. I think you all would love it! I run a Minibike with a stock non-hemi Predator 212 in The industrial class and I’ve won two years in a row. It’s a blast!!! -Trey
So there will be 3 awesome builds coming up 1. shifter kart? 2 2 speed mini bike? 3. Snowmobile go kart sounds epic can't wait to see guys and I wanna make a 2 speed mini bike now

Those thing is cool! I used to have an old manco minibike with more or less the same engine.. 3.5hp. single speed but larger wheels. Thing was bulletproof
Hey guys! I saw you guys race this weekend at the gambler mini bike enduro over here in Oregon and had a lot of fun talking to you guys! Hope to be racing alongside you guys next year, it was awesome finally getting to meet you!
I have an old two-speed mini bike as well but mine has the rear springs on the seat as well as the spring front fork. I was going to put a CVT on it originally until I figured out how cool that set-up was
My Dad bought me a 2.5HP Briggs powered 2-speed L'il Indian (same 3 chain / 2 clutch set up) back in the early 70's, when I was like 12 yrs old. A friend had a slightly larger 5hp but single-speed L'il Indian, which would beat me off the line, but I definitely had 3 or 4 MPH over him at the high end. I'd buy one again now if I could find one.
Those two speed bikes were very popular in the 60-70 era. They do indeed operate by an overrunning sprag clutch. If you had one of these as a kid you really had bragging rights! If I remember right, sears sold a version that may have been a bird manufactured piece.
Gasolinemadness is on to something totally would love to see a snowmobile engine on the Drag Kart OMG WANNA SEE!!! Btw great job as always love watching my NC boys do the darn thing much love!
Love the videos guys. My son and I are starting a Manco Thunderbird rebuild. We have our Predator 212cc and we are waiting on a few more parts and we will having fun soon. Thanks for the inspiration, God bless!
I'd like to see yall make a two speed mini bike. Nothing fancy or to intricate, just something to show everyone how it's made and the parts and knowledge to put it together.
You guys deserve a few million more subscribers .. It saddens me that the ones that have all that just talk, they go Live at night n people constantly give them money. We need more people outside working on machines!
YES!!!!!! My vote goes to building a: EDGE Barracudo or a EDGE Piranha. been waiting years for you guys to put a real 2stroke snowmobile engine in a gokart(or what ever with wheels. cant go wrong with a 2 stroke engine) Gona be a AMAZING build :)
Nice vid guys! Keep up the great work! I’ve been watching you guys for a bout a year now, and man. Your guys content is just the best! And I’m finally here early for once! Lol
You guys say "Dude" as often as Bill and Ted. But seriously, I had a LIL Indian mini in the 60's with three clutches = three speeds. Lots of maintenance and chains for a kid, but lots of fun!!!
That Colt is killer. I have a Heathkit GT-18 Booniebike with a two speed like that. It had a two chain clutch but i cant find it. I still have the jack shaft with the secondary clutch and band brake. We’ve had it in the family since the mid 80’s and i never remeber it working correctly. We only had high gear so it was a dog out of the hole but would get up to certain death speed where the single band brake was completely ineffective. It made for a wild ride. Im going to put it all back together again very soon.
seems easy enough to build a 3+ speed configuration with a little thought towards the layout using those dual sprocket output clutch parts. 2) on a semi related note have you seen examples of dog shifted transmissions? where you have couplers like a 4 speed truck transmission?
Check out early 60's and early 70's Tule Troopers made in Issaquah.. Washington State. All you need is 1 clutch on the motor and 1 on the jackshaft. Belt between. For high-speed clutch opens rear clutch closes, then the opposite when going slow or climbing. Then chain to the wheel, same side, if there's room. Urethane plastic chain tension adjustment. That way once it's all done and in place, all you need to do is adjust the chain. Besides obvious up keep. Learn how the old manual transmissions shifted gears, now make a gearbox with a neutral & two speeds don't forget the filler hole and holes to bolt in place. It will not be synchronized, so you'll have to stop and choose high or low. Use heavy gear oil.
speaking of Transmissions have you seen anything like a British BSA motorbike transmission in a mini bike, or the complete power train from a garden tractor swapped into a mini bike?
10:23 "AND THERE'S A WHOLE LOTTA BEANS UNDER THAT PEDAL" 😂
good
nice.
Lol
Do y'all think the Ducati has a faster top speed?
You guys thinking about redoing the Ducati Kart now?👍
800cc 2 stoke snowmobile engine on the dragster!
Like it if you want to see them make a snowmobile kart!
That sounds like you're asking for lung cancer and noise with no power
AIO inc. Ok so 120-150 hp is no power?
I like that idea a snowmobile powered dragster. That would fly
@@AiOinc1 You really don't know sled engines do you? The 2 strokes fly like crazy. Plus they are a lot cheaper to rebuild than the 4 stroke Phazer.
that looked like a blast,
Makes perfect sense I've had my 2 speed mini for 18 years and it still kicks butt. Amazing how much torque the 2 speeds have. I can remember mine pulling both me and my dad up a pretty serious hill with no problem.
What is your gearing set up
Snowmobile carts were sick! I think those need to go to the top of the build list. Yes those, you need two so you guys can race.
I definitely would love to see you guys Make a video modifying the double sprocket / manual clutch
did you guys ever make a modern version? i’ve been thinking of doing this for a few years now but dont have the money to get it figured out since im lacking the knowledge to get it in one try😂
Hey John we're all on board with that snowmobile cart racer
GREAT video guys ! Man !..Those carts look like a ton of fun ! Many built go carts with snowmobile engines up here in New England. americania-nmc Great story!
Would definitely like to see a newer high performance set up like this on another build that you guys make will be looking forward for a video
I really wanna see you guys make your own 2 speed mini bike... that be awesome
YESSS snow mobile cart 💪💪💪👍👍👍 can't wait
Yea, I couldn’t watch either, considering the poor guys would probably kill themselves on one. Lol
LOL)
Yall need some carts like that time to step it up
That's a really neat setup on the two speed mini.
Those high speed karts were off the hook! 😁
Thanks for the video. 😁
Build the two speed!

Yeah you should do you're own 2 speed mini bike that Will be awesome !!!
What a smile John! It speaks volumes.
I'd love to see you guys mess with the 2 spd again!
So there will be 3 awesome builds coming up 1. shifter kart? 2 2 speed mini bike? 3. Snowmobile go kart sounds epic can't wait to see guys and I wanna make a 2 speed mini bike now
You guys seen the ultimate barbie jeep from Grind Hard Plumbing? Epic.
Ya it's sick lol. And the oddessey is an 800cc that is gonna be crazy too
Are u freaking kidding me my daughter had one of those and I coulda built something out of it? Now I'm kicking myself 😆
99jivvity I was going to ask the same thing... a meet & greet invitation should be sent to “Grind hard Plumbing Company”.
Barbie Car, Senderella, Snow Scoot, Crunchy Taco... and... these Idaho boise are just getting started.
I love the suspension travel on the barbie Jeep too, looking like a mountain of fun!

Thanks
Really enjoy the videos. I would really like to see you guys build your own 2 speed setup!
Love your work John & Ike.
Thanks
Those thing is cool! I used to have an old manco minibike with more or less the same engine.. 3.5hp. single speed but larger wheels. Thing was bulletproof

Awesome video, like always. I would love to see more 2stroke content
Grind hard plumbing company is putting together a 800cc 2 stroke Honda oddessey atm. That thing is gonna be a beast
Gasolinemadness is on to something totally would love to see a snowmobile engine on the Drag Kart OMG WANNA SEE!!! Btw great job as always love watching my NC boys do the darn thing much love!

That sounds like a pretty simple 2 speed auto system for DIY projects. Hoping to see you have a go at one yourselves on something.
You guys deserve a few million more subscribers .. It saddens me that the ones that have all that just talk, they go Live at night n people constantly give them money. We need more people outside working on machines!
Very interesting 2 speed. Brilliantly simple automatic transmission.

Making your own 2 speed sounds like a fantastic idea
Very enjoyable episode, would love to go to that swap meet someday!
Nice vid guys! Keep up the great work! I’ve been watching you guys for a bout a year now, and man. Your guys content is just the best! And I’m finally here early for once! Lol
Sweet! Bike was made here in St Louis Missouri by Atlas Manufacturing
Those karts were epic
Those carts are meeeeeaannnnn!
That grom was awesome. P.S a 2 strokes powerband is the most wide powerband you will ever encounter.
You guys say "Dude" as often as Bill and Ted. But seriously, I had a LIL Indian mini in the 60's with three clutches = three speeds. Lots of maintenance and chains for a kid, but lots of fun!!!
very nice. I realy like the bike. keep it up. I think a manta gocart like in the old film would be a cool new project
WHOO! Colt foreva! It was great meetin' ya at the Pate Swap Meet! (And seein' the Colt!)
Looked like a fun time
Nice day..cool the go kart😍
That is a pretty neat and ingenious automatic transmission.
Southern boys are going to have to come up north to find a sled motor
they make this stuff called engine degreaser. You spray it on, wait and hose it off...viola...no more greasy mess to work in...amazing
Easy, wise guy. There is also this thing called "Stuff it, you mouth breather"
Looks to have forks too! Too cool!
You guys getting better all the time!
Did you guys ever re-create that 2 speed set up? I'd love to see it
Go Power Sports had such a unique clutch in stock amazes me.

Started watching around 250k subs. Now you guys are at 647k subs. Right on! Keep giving me ideas. & problem fixers!
Snowmobile powered kart. What's not to like??😍
Yall be building one of those snowmobile go-cart now from scratch.
The guy that brought the clutch looks tons of fun
Even better, build a snowmobile kart AND a beefed up 2 speed for it!!! It would make for a crazy project
Yeessss more go carts!!!
how about reproduce the 2 speed trans or make a 3spd version
nice vid guys keep it up;)
Will gopowersports be stocking those anti-reversing sprockets used in the 2 speed setup? I would love to build something like that for myself.
Looks like ya had a lot of fun ..what did the go karts have for moters ya drove there ?the sounded intense..and looked like the flow right along ..
I'm bummed...I recently missed an opportunity to get that same 2 speed minibike, but with a modded Briggs. Wish I woulda pulled the trigger. Cool vid!
Haven’t watched it yet but I’m pretty damn excited
Please make your own version of the 2 speed mini bike! Great video btw
Snow mobile motor in the drag rail 2.0?
I would love seeing you male that gear system yourself!

I got a pretzel!!! I got a pretzel in my head!!! Love the quote
Thought I wanted a shifter cart but now I want a snowmobile engine cart 🏎
the maners when he says sir, love it
Was that hert on that mini bike?
It looked like it!
Awesome video! Btw. What happened to the drag rail? Are you gonna revive it at some point?
the predator engine went kaput
@@T34theAmericanheavy oh, okay
It will make a comeback
How come you guys never dissected the 670? I wanted to know what happened to it
I love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning!
If you have subtitles turned on it says MUSIC when the engine starts, Shure is music to my ears
go to 3:06
Is this setup recreatable to a typical person? like to do on a go kart or mini bike
So, what's the order on the check list.. Snowmobile GoCart then 2 speed minibike? Or 2 speed minibike then Snowmobile GoCart?
I like the racing go cart very awesome
I got a 69 Sears Roper mini bike with 2 speed transmission.... I love it !
What is your gearing
Да это же гениально!!)))
Nice video
Is there any place that shows how to build that 2 speed setup?
Cant wait to do this to one someday
Check out early 60's and early 70's Tule Troopers made in Issaquah.. Washington State.

So did you carry the snomokarts on or check them with the luggage?
Snowmobile powered dragster!!
yeees snowmobile gocart!
2 strokes rock 4 strokes for grandma and women and children !
