Hey Hoki, just wanted to drop a quick appreciation note here. Getting into FH5 AND stumbling across your channel has been the most educational in recent memory not just in terms of getting better at the game but also car knowledge in general. Thank you for these vids!
Yeah man im new too, Until I found this channel I was having a hard time connecting with other content creators, I cant learn from people that are not humanized and relatable., This channle is SERIOUSLY PRO!
Same here all, Hoki’s YT and Twitch channels have been really helpful with getting into Forza. Really appreciate the detail and making it easy to understand.
@@vueu5103 but can you tandem. Drift zones are there for people who are shit at drift to feel like they are good. You'd get wrecked against a good drifter on a section.
Here are some very basic notes i made for myself from this video, hopefully its useful to someone Diff: 85-95% accel 0% deaccel or Lock accel and deaccel Brakes: Balance - all the way to the rear Pressure - about 30%. Note: Do this mostly for tandem builds. Helps not to lose the drift and straightening. Aero: Does not play much of a role in drifting. If you have aero tuning unlocked, increasing front downforce can help you out. Damping: Rebound stifness is often good as it is. Drop bump stifness to about 50% of your rebound for front and rear. Springs: Try not to change front. Decrease rear a bit for more grip if needed. Ride Height - Slam it Antiroll Bars: Front - Try not to mess with it. Rear - Decreasing can help a lot especially for high power builds. Increasing the rear can help you brake out on lower power builds. Alingment: Camber - Front always maximum negative camber. Rear between 1 and 1.5 negative camber. Toe - Toe out for the front gives you more steering angle, you can play around with it. Recommended to start with 2.0 out. Rear Toe - Out gives you wider corner trijectory and give you more angle. In makes your drifting more tighter and more controll. Reccomended for begginers to push rear toe in a little bit, later start pushing out. (aroud 1.0) Gearing - Low power builds should not touch that much. High - Mid power builds - Find good drift gears (usually 3rd and 4th). Lower them accordingly, if you are banging the rev limiter it needs to be higher, if you cant stay in your rev range and you have to downshift then lower it. Adjust 5th and 6th to your ''main'' gears. Tires - Front should stay around 30 psi. Rear - lower pressures are grippier and smoother, higher pressures lose grip more suddenly and not much drift girp. Low power build shoud stay around stock rear psi High - mid power builds should lower psi (around 20)
The FH4 guide was good, but this guide is SOOO much better. I learned to drift from the FH4 guide and I kind of intuitively picked up on some of the shifting and braking to increase/decrease my turn radius. This video made me understand that a little more.
I initially found you while looking for a rally tuning guide in FH4, and you blew me away with how concise and educational your style was. Looking through all your other stuff has been a blast, and it feels like a blessing to have such an amazing educator making such great work for us. Your videos and guides are so insanely well made, and I'm still learning things from you even years after getting into this franchise, both about the games and about cars in the real world. It's so clear to me that your videos come from a place of deep love and passion. I've never enjoyed learning so much in my life as I do when I watch your vids. I cannot thank you enough. *Amazing* work as always, Hoki. Like a fine wine, you really are only getting better with age.
Literally the best channel for FH5 I’ve seen. I’ve been coming back to these videos constantly for help. I was watching your fh4 drift video and didn’t realize for a few min, clicked off, and this video was posted. Lol good timing
Thank you so much for taking the time to create this guide, it will help a lot of people, I'm sure of it. It helped me to figure out some problems I had with my builds (I didn't modify Toe and wasn't properly tuning my suspension) so maybe I'll be able to beat that damn 1.2m score I can't seem to replicate. "Drifting at a minimum, really only needs one thing : RWD." THANK YOU ! I see so many people trying to drift 1300+hp AWD cars and calling that better just because they do high scores easier than spinning all over the place with RWD cars. I get that drifting is hard and not everyone has time to learn to tune and/or practice but its so much more rewarding to control a RWD car than an AWD power build.
I would say as someone who has alot of time using both rwd and awd that rwd is more relaxing and even more entertaining than AWD in my opinion but AWD is also fun since I like to grind drift zone leaderboards and it can be very rewarding
NO FUCKING WAY YOU CHOSE LITERALLY MY FAVORITE CAR TO USE IN THIS VIDEO! I used that car in fh4 to follow your drift tuning guide and I tried to make it again in this game but it doesn’t feel the same. Now you have gone and made a whole new vid and used the very same car I was going to start with, what a legend
Bro, this is the second video I’ve watched from you, and I gotta say, why are you only at 109k subs?! You sir, should be closer to a million! You are very informative and you don’t overload the viewer with eye glazing facts. I am a tuner also, been tuning my cars since gran turismo on psx. But, with all my cars they always either been tuned for the road/track or rally with the DiRT games. The one thing I never really learned to do is tune drift cars. And I am so glad I found your channel. Keep up the good work!
I can't believe I have been adding brake bias to the rears by going 100% front. Really love your video, really good info for beginners. Something I would add, is consistency. Once you get comfortable with a car and a style (as a beginner) focus on mastering the mechanics then look to switch to a different car. I can say I have mastered chelsea denofa's #88 rtr mustang, Supra (fd and rz) and the 240. I am almost at 1.3mil on that long drift zone down the mountain. Really hard to compete with these Issetas.
isettas need to be banned from driftzones, i have no idea how they are still a thing bc it was the same shitshow in fh4 -_- ALSO i really want to see seperated leaderboards for rwd and awd (if thats implemented already ignore what i said) bc in fh4 at least awd builds were so op that you just cant compete with rwd

Been waiting, had the best tuning guides for fh4, made great vids on mods and tuning in this game and I knew it was just a matter of time before you put out videos for drift, drag, and rally. Looking forward to the next few vids on this channel. I always learn so much and have a great time watching. You have a nice voice and speak clearly and concisely on the topics at hand, covering a lot of info without wasting time. Keep up the good work man
I've been really good at drifting since I was a kid. Im talking hours upon hours spent drifting in NFS Underground and Underground 2 and just about every racing game to come aftee that. I got good by just doing it. I've seen hundreds of drift videos and you've explained everything the best I have ever heard it explained. Down to the science of it. Thank you man
Thank you so much for this guide. I never really understood how to tune well in general, especially for drifting and I know for a fact this’ll make everything at least 25% better in terms of how the car feels. I’m already very good with drifting and the balancing of everything needed to drift naturally, but the tuning is really something that’ll squeeze out everything you need (especially in a drift zone where you want to be competitive)!! Keep up the good work my man, can’t wait to see what else you have to show in the tuning/game in general.

Excellent video. I've been drifting in FH since 2 but took a break from Xbox a couple years ago. Your video has been a huge help to relearning the tweaks to tuning for drifting again. Really well explained and clear video, much better than the others I've watched

Yes my buddy and I were just talking about your drift tune video from forza horizon 4. Your video helped me so much so speak of the devil another video let’s go!
I'm a beginner at drifting and have watched hundreds of videos and this by far is the best video i have found. very helpful, thank you for making such a great video, i'm definitely gonna become a better drifter.
Just wanted you to know how much this video helped me improve my drifting in Fh5. Really appreciate the effort and time you put into this video. We need more channels like yours! Thanks again, and keep up the fantastic tutorials!

Yo this is the best how to video I have heard. Especially when you start talking about initiations. And when to apply throttle. I learned on carx with no handbrake. Once I get a PC I'll start trying to really help new people as well. But it's great to hear someone explain correctly what I'm unable to to my friends who come try the sim.
Hello hokihoshi, just want to drop a big thanks for your video about tuning in forza horizon 5, really help in understanding every aspect of the tuning in this game (or in real life tuning i heard). This really helps beginner in drifting world, and I hope many other beginners could find this video as well ✌✌
This guide is one of the more straight to the point ones that I've seen. I play on a wheel but no shifter so switching gears is a bitch with the paddle shifters spinning around but even an hour after watching this there's improvement. I'm just starting out drifting on the wheel, other people make it looks so easy but it's pretty damn hard lmao
hey man thanks for your content - i've found that your stuff is very beginner friendly and i've been recommending them to my friends who are new to the series. sometimes its hard to go back to the basics after playing each title for so long
Yeah same. Like you- I've watched a ton of videos and they're all essentially saying the same shit. But for whatever reason how he worded the video, I understood.it clicked lol
i"ve been drifting on forza for 3 years now and would consider myself to be in a more intermediate group but this video still help out so much, thank you
Great video that's well put. Definitely enjoy using this guide for tuning, way better then downloading tunes you can't change. It's nice to be able to fine tune to my driving style
Thank you! I was having a lot of trouble with my Mercedes 190E and I was either not able to get the rear to kick out, or made the car unstable and was spinning out way too easily. This guide helped me find the balance I was looking for and next thing I knew, my 190E was skidding through those corners super clean
Wsp Hoki, I just wanted to thank you for this video I am getting good at drifting fast! I washed many other videos and this is the only one that really helped me!----Keep making this amazing videos.---Thanks again
ITS ABOUT TIME, IVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR A DRIFT TUNE GUIDE FOR MONTHS NOW. I finally found one that will tell me what makes the car do certain things but for the simple minded lmao
Love your videos, I used to despise drifting because I could not do it, lol, but I stuck with it a bit and am having a ton of fun learning. "Thank you for sharing all of your tips and techniques you have been a great help.
I gotta say that I just came across your channel and have been quite impressed with your content. I don't know crap about cars, in real life or in digital form, but I have gleaned some really useful info to help with my FH5 experience. Thank you very much for creating these videos. You have a new subscriber.
Nice guide. In FH4 I "had" to learn tandem drifting because all of my online friends love drifting, but then I quickly realised that drifting is just not my thing. In FH5 I used the formula drift BMW for road and Corvette for dirt drift zones, easy 3 stars, then I tuned the BMW into a road race car hahaha, it looks and sounds awesome.
Tip: just like in initial D, that car actually excels at 4 wheel drifting rather than traditional drifting, and 4 wheel drifting is the fastest way around a corner. Near full throttle and just about no countersteer. Lots of people don’t understand that so most tunes for the 86 aren’t built very well, I built my own back in FH4 and it did incredibly well, working on rebuilding it and perfecting it in FH5
this mixed with some of my own preference finnaly gave me a understanding and a really stable car in corners.. my old setup from other youtubers made me oversteer to mutch and the back end to over commit.. when clutch kicking. Thx for the help sir!
HokiHoshi, what an incredible content you have for us... I've been watching your videos for a while now and I wanted to thank you for great videos. Keep it up!
Hoki: Here is an in depth guide to drifting. Me: Hoonicorn go BRRRRRRRRRTTT 4 days later and I have 3 stars on all drift zones. I realise I could have made my life easier by watching the video but, I am not a smart man.
Been watching some of your tune guide and i got to say i learned a lot from it! I just wanna let you know that before seeing this drift guide i felt hopeless on 3starring drift zones, that's like the only thing i havent touched about because i just dont know how to set up/tune cars for it! before after seeing this vid oh my god! i spent the next hr drifting around and boom got all the zones 3starred!
One of the great channels with actually knowledge about the stuff in the videos ;) I have seenWheel, FFB Guides with async Wheel and talking about missing grip feeling that can be adjusted with 2 sliders lulz but hey they showed there new fancy Fanatec gear they have xD
I Believe he did a rally tune for 3 and 4, and maybe a drag tune in fh4 but I think I watched an ar12 video for drag. But with hoki’s presentation, detail etc, I would LOVE a drag & rally tune
As a newbie, you've helped me tremendously and u appreciate your time and work in these vids. Just got my first racing/wheel rig just for fh5 and Wow it's fun and sometimes hard but worth learning. My advice to other noobs is keep open mind with others, cause you never know who's gonna say that thing that makes it all come together for you. It can come in what not to do, as well as good advice on doing something properly, such as your channel. Your explanation as to why we change/do this or that really helps to understand better how to better skills. Thanks again and keep up the great work brother 🙏🏼
Thanks for this. I’m not a good drifter but just built and tuned my first S2 class for the JDM seasonal challenge. Took a few runs and some tweaks, but got my S14 to beat the challenge!
I mainly play on FH4, but what you're teaching here applies very well across games. So thankful of your comprehensive guide. I was so sick of garbage "DRIFTING FOR ABSOLUTE BEGINNER" guides who use so much jargon and basically go "just loop around this circle until you know how to drift lol" instead of going into the nuance and prerequisite requirements to drifitng.
For serious! Hoki your guides are SO HELPFUL!! Quick Edit Hoki, Could you put your tune up for this video in the description so that we could watch the video and just download the tune that you went with, say a begginer friendly approach, I know it wont serve me as well to copy yours, but it would get me off the ground much faster, and I know I wouldn't be doing something wrong lol,, Thanks in advance if im not the 100k person thats asked this already lol
This video was very helpful! I immediately didn't follow directions by tuning a Ferrari F40 lol Had to make some minor tweaks, but overall your directions still work for a high-powered rear-engine car!
Well shit. I just want to actually thank you dude. Thank you. Im drifting now on wheel without it feeling fucked up. This is awesome. Thank for making this video! Ive watched so many different wheel tuning videos and car tuning videos for this game and nothing clicked for whatever reason. Youre the man! 🎉
Thank you so much, I will watch this later... I spent an hour yesterday and finished the 3 star quest but it drove me crazy.... I am usually good at drifting in games but I really don't get it in Forza... that I got the 130k points was pure luck.
The points arent necessarily what this video is talking about. If you want most points you for sure want a super powerful fast car, this is more realistic and style based
Yeah I think I know what your issue was. In this game, tandem/realistic drifting is a different than drifting for high scores. For high score drifting runs don't be surprised to see 1500+ hp AWD cars sliding around at 90mph while perpendicular to the road.
I've been drifting in Forza since FM4 so I've never needed a guide but now I'm curious what other skilled players are doing so here I am. Couple notes after watching I've ran rear toe in and front toe out since Horizon 4 since I learned a few years back that FD cars do that in real life, and I liked how it felt in game. My one take away as a veteran Forza drifter is I need to play with my tunes more, I have a formula that works for 90% of my builds but cars feel more gripped up in FH5 so a few need less grip which I haven't fine tuned yet.
Thanks, I am awful at drifting , or was awful until I Watched your video. Three starred drift zones mostly on the first attempt ,something that took hours to do in fh4. Can’t thank you enough.
Thank you for this video. It was very helpful. I have been struggling with a couple of my drift builds and this helped me figure out where and how to correct the issues.
I had a decent idea on how to drift already but you helped me better understand the tuning portion thus the creation of my pro drift car, and for that I thank you

Brakes:

Pressure - about 30%. Note: Do this mostly for tandem builds. Helps not to lose the drift and straightening.
Aero:
Does not play much of a role in drifting.
If you have aero tuning unlocked, increasing front downforce can help you out.
Damping:
Rebound stifness is often good as it is.
Drop bump stifness to about 50% of your rebound for front and rear.
Springs:
Try not to change front.
Decrease rear a bit for more grip if needed.
Ride Height - Slam it
Antiroll Bars:
Front - Try not to mess with it.
Rear - Decreasing can help a lot especially for high power builds.
Increasing the rear can help you brake out on lower power builds.
Alingment:
Camber - Front always maximum negative camber.
(aroud 1.0)

Low power build shoud stay around stock rear psi
High - mid power builds should lower psi (around 20)

Once I get a PC I'll start trying to really help new people as well. But it's great to hear someone explain correctly what I'm unable to to my friends who come try the sim.
THIS guide made me love drifting, I used to get only 1 star every drift zone but, now I get 3 stars on every one of them. THANK YOU!
You helped me so much with really ironing out builds in fh4 but the Saale setups felt off for fh5 so this definitely makes my life easier
I'm just starting out drifting on the wheel, other people make it looks so easy but it's pretty damn hard lmao
hey man thanks for your content - i've found that your stuff is very beginner friendly and i've been recommending them to my friends who are new to the series. sometimes its hard to go back to the basics after playing each title for so long
This is an amazing video, love how you pace your words and explain everything, it’s extremely helpful! Thank you a ton!
Yeah same. Like you- I've watched a ton of videos and they're all essentially saying the same shit. But for whatever reason how he worded the video, I understood.it clicked lol
i"ve been drifting on forza for 3 years now and would consider myself to be in a more intermediate group but this video still help out so much, thank you
Wow, you're pumping these out so quick. Can't wait for the FH5 Hokiscore list! :D
Brooooo I love your tutorial videos!!! Easily the best on UA-cam 🤟🏿🤟🏿🤟🏿
Great video that's well put. Definitely enjoy using this guide for tuning, way better then downloading tunes you can't change. It's nice to be able to fine tune to my driving style
Best quality forza videos right here 💯⬆️⬆️
yo I was just searching for your old fh4 guide and found this cant believe iiiiiit thank you very much
This guide is amazing, I built my first drift car with it! Made an 812 superfast drift car with your advice!
THAAAANK YYOOOUUUUU!!!!
I've been excited for this video. I love the tuning guide!
Sweet!! I’ve been waiting for something like this. Thanks for the vid
Thank you so much!! This helped me a ton!! I am so happy I stumbled across your channel!! Keep up the great work! 👍🙂
Drifting in a game is fun
Your guide to tune the car makes it sounds more awesome
Thank you for the guide, Mr. HokiHoshi 👍👍
ITS ABOUT TIME, IVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR A DRIFT TUNE GUIDE FOR MONTHS NOW. I finally found one that will tell me what makes the car do certain things but for the simple minded lmao
This really helped me and i’ve always been lost when it comes to tuning
Just want to say I really appreciate these videos. I could never figure out tuning properly on my own tbh
You really are something else dude!
Omg I'm so happy that you posted this! I just got my AE86 yesterday and it's hard to find current/reliable information on drifting
@@shardell let me know please when you share it!
Thank you so much you have helped me explain how to drift to my brother in so many ways
this mixed with some of my own preference finnaly gave me a understanding and a really stable car in corners.. my old setup from other youtubers made me oversteer to mutch and the back end to over commit.. when clutch kicking.
Thx for the help sir!
HokiHoshi, what an incredible content you have for us... I've been watching your videos for a while now and I wanted to thank you for great videos. Keep it up!
Just found your channel and I love it. I am new to horizon as I have been a beamng player for years. Thanks for the tips
thanks for the guide HokiHoshi !!!!!! love the content
You’re a hero for the Forza tuning community!
Bear drift tutorial I’ve seen and I’m drifting for a good few years now. Well done 👍🏻
Hoki: Here is an in depth guide to drifting.
Me: Hoonicorn go BRRRRRRRRRTTT
4 days later and I have 3 stars on all drift zones.
Love these kind of in depth videos
Very helpful especially when I’m doing a proper build in the game
One of the great channels with actually knowledge about the stuff in the videos ;) I have seenWheel, FFB Guides with async Wheel and talking about missing grip feeling that can be adjusted with 2 sliders lulz but hey they showed there new fancy Fanatec gear they have xD
Bro imagine if he made a drag or rally guide for this game, would be awesome
So glad people like you exist, thank's a lot!
Makes me confident to hear you play on xbox with controller as well :)
Keep it up 🔥🔥🔥
This video helped loads, thanks man! Hopefully I retain this very useful information, but will definitely watch more of your videos!
Nice vid bud 👍
I've been drifting sim steering on wheel since day one early access and still found some of this helpful
Thanks for this. I’m not a good drifter but just built and tuned my first S2 class for the JDM seasonal challenge. Took a few runs and some tweaks, but got my S14 to beat the challenge!
ur litteraly the best!!
Thanks for this video, I know how to drift but never understood tunes, now I don’t have to look for obscure tunes on cars i like. Great vid, subbed
Thank you Hoki for explaining tough topic in the FH5.
In FH5 my 1st goal will be completing all drift zones with 3 stars...
Drifting in this game has to be the most satisfying and rewarding things you can learn in video games for me personally
Yea the developers should hire you for tutorial guides, best how-to i've seen maybe ever
Didn’t realize this was posted so recently lol I was looking for something like this earlier
I was rubbing my hands like Birdman when I saw the title of the video. I love watching drift tutorials for any sort of tips and tricks to get better.
Liked and subscribed! You went the extra mile, this is quality content!
Thanks, I am awful at drifting , or was awful until I Watched your video. Three starred drift zones mostly on the first attempt ,something that took hours to do in fh4. Can’t thank you enough.
thx i was waiting a long time for this 🙏
Thank you brother man love the channel and tips keep going and stay positive my brother
This is the Best drift guide video for Forza
I whish I could like this video more than once.
Thank you for this video. It was very helpful. I have been struggling with a couple of my drift builds and this helped me figure out where and how to correct the issues.
I had a decent idea on how to drift already but you helped me better understand the tuning portion thus the creation of my pro drift car, and for that I thank you
