    One crucial one I think you missed: tyre compounds. Slicks, semi-slicks, rally (especially the confusion on how rally is effectively a type of ROAD tyre in Horizon), offroad and the generic compounds below it like street, sport and vintage.

      It is definitely satisfying when you gain enough experience to drive a car you've just thrown 50-100k worth of upgrades on. Then be able to feel what's wrong with the setup & adjust it to suit your style. Though it's worth noting for new players that you do have to grind & experiment a fair bit to gain that experience.

      Mate tuning is a headache. I just hate that there are so many races where you need to drive certain cars.
      Like ugh now i have to buy the car, upgrade it, put a nice design on it and tune it only to use it for this one race and after that i don't even like the car so i wasted 2-3 hours on just one car and one race

That miata is the first car i made that drives well on offroad and on road and i got 260k score without a skill song and im working on getting a hoonicorn v2 to get as much score as possible and i got a mercedes benz c-smth forza edition with speed skill bonus that im working towards maxing

    @HokiHoshi what is the meaning of words "Off the line" , "Grip" and "All Round" ( keyword-1 ) in search section of Downloading Tunes(find tunes) in FH5 differ from eachother ? Which is best in what scenarios? . pls explain

    • @xSmythosx
      @xSmythosx Рік тому +3

      obviously i’m not hokihoshi but i am a car nut and avid player so i can try to answer!
      “Off the line” has to do mostly with launch and acceleration - how quickly the car gets up to speed from a stop. I think most tuners who focus on off the line are usually doing drag builds where getting up to high speeds as quickly as possible is the primary focus. They tend to be high torque with enough grip to the powered wheels to keep from spinning out when accelerating from a stop. I think some people will use “off the line” keywords for high acceleration builds in general, but they seem to primarily be for drag builds. I may be wrong on the exact usage though.
      “Grip” is a focus on handling and corners. A car with a dedicated grip build may not be able to reach the same top speeds as some power based builds, but will maintain grip and snappiness through corners, allowing the driver to slow down less and maintain higher speeds through turns that power builds may need to slow down more for in order to avoid loss of control. They usually feature lower weight, aero, wider more upgraded tires, and more focus in general on handling upgrades over speed. Grip builds are great for circuit racing, rally, or really any track or event with several turns, although imo (and i think HokiHoshi’s as well) grip builds are usually faster in the long run regardless of the event. If you have braking line turned on, a good grip build will allow you to keep on the throttle through SOME corners the game would suggest you let off or brake for.
      “All around” builds try to get the best of both grip and power/speed builds. Tuners attempt to both keep up enough grip to maintain speed through turns while making enough power to keep up in straights. These builds are solid for a lot of races, but in more open courses where there’s fewer turns they’ll outrun grip builds but be outpaced by power builds, and in tight circuit races like the ones through urban areas they will do better than pure power builds but likely be outperformed by grip builds.
      Hope this helps!

    Also ABS, TCS and ASM are called by the colloquial term 'driving aids'. they are named such because leaving them on is tantamount to let your driving experience have AIDS.
    You wanna rip those training wheels off pretty much instantly to avoid developing bad habits as this now forces you to drive the car correctly to stay on the road, thus naturally teaching you to use proper weight-shift braking/throttle control not to rely on a computer to make up for your mistakes as you keep making them.
    It'll hurt in the short term, esp ABS, but it'll make you faster before long as well as introducing you what's so addictive about car control. You drive with aids you're filtering away a lot of the experience by letting the car drive itself.

Sick drift spots, some good realistic circuits (like maple valley) and Nitrous. Underglow. Etc. If you are gonna go street race meets sim add that NFS underground aspect to a free roam map that features bA circuits as well. Maybe fuel consumption and tire wear for extra credits on long races
