Sorry to hear about Daniela; however, I admire you both for putting her studies first. ❤ Can’t wait to see her face in the vlogs again someday. Also, that boat friend is amazing to watch!
Will miss seeing Daniella's happy face for ..... a while ? I wish you both all the best of life. Good luck to Daniella in her studies. Good wishes to you, Huub, for the full restoration of your lovely new catamaran. You are very fortunate to have your friend working on the boat ... his experience and skill are wonderful assets.
Your lucky to have your new friend , this must be like a crash course apprenticeship in boat building/ repairs. Such a knowledgable guy, you must be learning so much. I'm so happy for you to have great guidance throughout this process you will have so much faith and confidence in the repairs once your back in the water. It's facinating watching you guys carry out these repairs, great job keep the videos coiming.
That trippy/surreal moment around minute 20:47 when the Polynesian style tattoo on Rolf's arm and chest start to mimic the shape of the big space being repaired on the side of the hull, and viceversa. Everything is fitting into place within the cosmic scheme of things, congratulations Huub, the universe has seen fit to send in your path a truly master boat builder, who no doubt knows a thing or two about the ebs and flows, the peaks and valleys and all the in between that life presents one. Best of luck to you, Dani, in your remaining years of study toward become an attorney, and the licensing process thereafter, stay the course. ⛵️🪚⚓️🤙👨🔧🤞👩🏽⚖️
You cannot move forward looking back my friend lest you stumble and fall, this to shall pass. Life is most beautiful when endured, I wish the both of you the best. Many blessings always my friend!
Just heard the sad announcement about Daniela. You two seemed good together and I hope she does return eventually. You and your friend are doing a fantastic job on the boat. I wish you every happiness.
Loving the details Huub, we are learning so much. We are watching these videos several times ! Sad news about Daniella !! She'll be back . . . or a new version!! LOL. Keep up the great work, you're a legend. You are doing what we all wish we ONLY could. Cheers from Australia 👍
I’m so glad you have found an experienced repair man that means so much, his ability to repair often with what at hand will save time and still get a job done professionally 👍🏻
Sorry to hear about you and Danni, but right now you are both art different times in your lives -- once she finishes with her education you can always try again! I was surprised to see that you switched to the hull work, but I guess it makes sense to do the exterior work while you have the weather in your favor. After all, once she's all sealed up and water tight again you won't be so dependent on the weather when working on the boat!!! Keep up the great work!!
Ik weet niet waar die nieuwe vriend vandaan kwam, maar daar zijn er te weinig van...een bikkel is het en geweldig leuk om naar te kijken hoe hij dat doet 👍👍👍👍
Amazing amount of hard and detailed work to be done. You are so fortunate to have such a meticulous and experienced person to help with this part of the project. Understand about Daniela, it was always fun to see the two of you together but I understand that the path through life is neither straight or simple. Best of luck to her and I wait for your weekly posts eagerly.
Sitting here in Tobago and watching this repair, Your pallo is a real skilled fella in repair. My only wonder is how strong will the repairs be in rpugher seas.
Huub! I just bought an Rv with a cracked skylight and water damage. I opted to fill the hole with Foamboard, 1/4 birchwood, Fiberglass and then a roll on sealant. All inspired and guided by this rebuild. Thank you for the content.
Thanks for sharing Huub, you friend is a master repairman.Sorry about Daniella but all will work out.Interesting to watch your repairs and i am learning how it should be done.
That SUCKS. Another girl tells you she loves you and found her soul mate... Third one since you have been on the ocean. Man that Royaly sux. I don't think it was mutual. I have been watching you forever and You are the best Human Being I have ever Seen in my life. Love you man. Can't wait to meet you brother. You are the best. Seriously. Sorry man. Ugh. Your boat is looking Great and yes thanks to your good friend also, its awesome I can't wait for you to be happily back on the water having fun! Much love bro. 🙏
Once again a great video showcasing the RIGHT way to build back better, stronger, faster... Life never stops you just have to be happy and keep moving. I know you will continue to have a successful channel, life and business. I love these updates.
So very sorry to learn that Daniela will be taking time away to continue her education. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and hopefully both of you will be back together soon. Your fiberglass repairs are so very interesting and informative even though I am not planning to do any. You mentioned sometime back that you hoped to have your boat in the water in December, maybe January would be a possibility now?
When you first got this boat i was nervous for you but now your getting to the damage its really not too bad!! She's coming along great!! Much love from the coast of Maine🤙🤙
Step by step and ewerything take som time. But soon the boat is in the water redy for new adventures. Sorry to hear aboute Daniella. But some times its better to step back and be good frends. ❤❤ from Sweden.
Thanks for the official update about Daniela and your relationship. It's a healthy way to continue on the pathway of life it's nice that your paths crossed and you were able to enjoy the adventure for the summer. It's always good to have a good friend in a different port of call. But still Daniella has goals and working hard to improve her future self. Wishing her well on her journey. The repairs seem to be coming along very well and looking like she's going to be back in the water in no time. Keep up the good work and can't wait to see the final results all finished and sitting on anchor in a different location. You guys are making good progress and the next video can't come soon enough. Lol also don't include the next crew or boat bunny to your UA-cam name unless you intend to get married. If you are taking suggestions call it "Hubb and the adventures of... place boat name here" i can't remember the name it's been a few videos since i heard it and didn't want to get it wrong. But it would be something that would be true to you and your lifestyle.
Thanks for all the explanation. You are not over-explaining at all. At least not for me 😁. There were several round bumps around midship at the same level as the other repairs you made. Are those delamination as well? Will you need to fix those also?
Huub "Catamaran on the Rocks n now Love on the Rocks " Ce Sera Sera 😅 Chin up n soldier on .. Turn a different corner and ye Never would have met . The Repairs will be Fantastic and you will have a beautiful Roomy Comfortable Yacht in which you could take Paying Guests .. Stay Free and Safe ❤
Sorry to hear Daniela will not be in your vlogs, life can be complicated sometimes staying friends is most important, maybe she will start her own vlog, anyway your boat is coming on nicely, will not be long before your on the water😊
Darn I really thought Dani was forever. So much more attentive compared to the other girls. Go find a new girl. I heard about you sailors had one in every port!😂
Doesn't it scare you a bit on just how thin that hull is? It looks like 3 or 4 layers of fiberglass before the balsa 😮. So, while the damage was caused by a shipping container, it would only take a large-ish bird with bad aim diving on a fish to punch through. Call me crazy, but I'll stick with my 70's and 80's era boats. Look what 'Breaking Sails' had just gone through, and they had dramatically less damage. A modern boat would have broken up in hours. Their boat was on the reef for days. Then got drug off. Then sailed to another country for repairs.
Harder to single hand a cat vs mono? Either way you’ll be in good place with nicer boat and plenty of time to adjust. I’m sure if things don’t work out there will be plenty of ladies that’ll want to sail with u on a beautiful boat👍🏻
That depends on the cat, how it's laid out in terms of rig and control lines and winches... As they are more stable and don't sway and heel like a monohull they are a lot safer under foot and should need a lot less, leaving the cockpit or heading forward. This reaches it's ultimate in the Dudley Dix , Rapier 550, Atlantic's, Gunboats and Windelo's where these vessels have forward and internal helms .
Bummer about your failed long distance relationship, but there will be others. And as the captain of a mighty sailing ship thats sails the oceans blue, you are a chick magnet!
interesting I suprised expensive balsa wood is used for core. I realize this, maybe the cat was made in area where balsa is grown, thus cheaper material at time the cat was manufactured. I know foam is better, maybe that manufacturing location suffer higher expenses from foam shipment? Do you happen to know when the cat was manufactured?
So so fortunate to have craftsman by your side!!!
Daniela will do well ... Supporting each other's goals and decisions is paramount!!! Goodonyas!
Sorry to hear about Daniela; however, I admire you both for putting her studies first. ❤ Can’t wait to see her face in the vlogs again someday. Also, that boat friend is amazing to watch!
where you hear and what exactly?
Will miss seeing Daniella's happy face for ..... a while ?
I wish you both all the best of life. Good luck to Daniella in her studies.
Good wishes to you, Huub, for the full restoration of your lovely new catamaran. You are very fortunate to have your friend working on the boat ... his experience and skill are wonderful assets.
between the 2 of you the jobs keep ticking over , congratulations on the expert craftsmanship
Your new friend is a life saver.
He is!

Yes! It is a speed course in boat repair for me for sure !
For those of us that have never visited a boat factory this is giving a great visual on how our boats are constructed.
Give it 6 months of youtube boat repair videos and you will be a fiberglass and epoxy expert yourself haha.
@@tomatobrush3283 It is amazing how much youtube and a willingness to fail teach us.

Thank you Paul! I feel very lucky and grateful for all of it!

The Boat craftsman , is worth his weight in gold, he seems knowledgeable, and hard working.
What a great result so far When I look back at what I actually learned at school, it was a waste of years. I hope it works out better for Daniella
Hahaha, same for me....
I’m so glad you have found an experienced repair man that means so much, his ability to repair often with what at hand will save time and still get a job done professionally 👍🏻
Yes, he is.... truly a diamond!
💥💥💥That boat builder dude is a talented badass‼️You got extremely lucky, finding him. 👍🏻💯💪🏻💥💥💥

Huub, very solid repair video! Doing it all correctly will last the life of the hull. Congrats!
Yes, thanks to Rolf! Very grateful to have him in my life

You are giving a master class in fiberglass repair. Best illustration of the craft I have seen. And I took college classes.
(For automotive fiberglass work) I forgot to say.
Thank you! I do my best to film the process we do as good as possible!
Nice work, glad you can still stay friends with "D" sometimes these bumps in the road smooth out over time.
She belongs to streets....f her

You're so lucky to have somebody help you That's very Knowledgeable.
I'm never going to sail but I sure like your channel. Your content is very good.

Awesome work Huub.
Keep going strong 💪
Your friend really knows his stuff. He’ll never be without a job in a hurricane area !

LOL! 😊 Plenty of fish in the sea!
Coming along quite nicely. You are making a lot of progress.
Fascinating repairs lol 🤔. Good video. Bringing in the professional was a good choice. 👍
His Dutch-lish is very goed 😆 👍.
Great job btw, better than anything I'd achieve on that repair.
Good video Huub 👍.
Thank you Tjalie!
you explain it good , if we don't understand then We have to smarten up and learn more

Your very brave attempting such extensive repairs . Best of. Luck with it . Enjoying the tutorial.

We hopen dat Daniella wel weer bij je aan boord komt, jullie passen zo goed bij elkaar zei Gea, en dat ben ik met haar eens👍⚓😊

Nice work and progress.
Great job, you will get there in the end! Strangely enough, my own Maxim 380 is with foam core, not balsa (2004 model)
What a great friend to have
When you first got this boat i was nervous for you but now your getting to the damage its really not too bad!! She's coming along great!! Much love from the coast of Maine🤙🤙
yet another great vid strength to you all 👍👍👍
Really enjoying your videos.

at least you were more honest about the break up then wildings sailing.
I am married, I live like a guy a big greeting for a friend who is not selfish to share his knowledge👍👍💪💪
I used to do this for a living in Annapolis MD. Brings back memories !
I wondering how you guys don’t itch from the fiberglass grinding dust ?
¡Excelente! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Breakups are difficult. Life goes on. You will have a new home to catch new fish.
For a moment there, that cupboard had unlimited storage ;-)
Wow, learned new info from ya’ll! Sorry to see your girlfriend leave, best regards to both of you.

The word you were looking for regarding the curve of the hull is "contour"...
Or curvacious like D!
Thanks Mark!
Thanks!
I appreciate you Blake, thank you!
what a luck you were able to team up with epoxy guru?!! who is he?
Sorry to hear Daniela will not be in your vlogs, life can be complicated sometimes staying friends is most important, maybe she will start her own vlog, anyway your boat is coming on nicely, will not be long before your on the water😊

Her parents got to her, LOL.
Laughing at the reference to peanut butter because pindakaas (cheese) is insanely popular in Holland 😂
its all part of the plan. You guys will be together again
One door closes, another door opens. I’m quite sure, you’ll have all the company you want.
Doesn't it scare you a bit on just how thin that hull is? It looks like 3 or 4 layers of fiberglass before the balsa 😮. your friend knows what he is doing
So much fiberglass in Huub's hair , he cannot get it out, maybe bonded to his by now.
goed bezig
Back to being a bachelor boat huh. Will you do what Parlay Revival does and have changing crew onboard?
This has been very educational having owned several fiberglass boats I am now far less concerned about repairing them.
I'm happy to hear my videos are helpful :)

Thats why I would take a steel or alu boat anytime.
Are there anymore damaged catamarans in your location? Ones worth saving?
Don’t fill in the holes, just put in some extra windows. Good luck dude😎
Gloves with Epoxy Cap'n!
You usecwhat you can getcand what is available. Port side repairs going well.
c'est quoi la marque de ton catamaran ?
What does your friend think about epoxy vs. Vinyl Esther resin?
In the Caribbean weather epoxy is a whole lot easier to work with and gets much stronger (he says)
@HuubVlogs thanks.
Balsa core cell is not super strong especially if WET lay mfg., you can use any closed foam core to replace the balsa.
interesting I suprised expensive balsa wood is used for core. I realize this, maybe the cat was made in area where balsa is grown, thus cheaper material at time the cat was manufactured.
