Keeps coming back, Blue Gold. I was first officer on it in 2007/2008. Not surprised it eventually would end like this. Still got 2 bath towels from that time. Very good quality, lasts forever. The ownership of that yacht has always been a dodgy matter. The family who owns it is a bit chaotic, likely on purpose. If you get my drift... By the way, it could easily be salvaged from that place, but the fighting about the ownership and the total incompetent people involved makes it so far impossible. Poor Blue Gold, she is a beautiful boat on the inside!
Colin's story telling is so incredible! Thank you for bringing stories from around the world that might not otherwise be told. You're truly an inspiration!
Sad to hear all that work did not get the desired results. I lived near the Rogue river in Oregon wher the river gold miners were using a cheap siphon attached to an outboard lower unit to move tons of material off the bottom. Just a thought. Love the channel.
No chance is that guy the legal owner of that vessel that guy has just bullied his way in and bullied people to thinking he’s the owner hence why he refused to answer how he became the owner because he isn’t and has no explanation on it because he’s a liar and taking advantage! You guys should of said to him if he has no proof then to go away and carried on your quest to explore once a beautiful boat Another amazing video Colin 👍🤠
He didn’t want anyone inside because he has gutted & sold everything that was worth any money. Come back in 2yrs & it will still be there minus a few more parts. If he had the money he said he had & the resources he said had that woukd of been salvaged a looonnggg time ago. Just my thoughts though.
how the mighty yacht traps it self by weight, i am not sure if it was your channel but remember the locals tied the bow up and pulled it round and it worked. wasnt a super yacht tho hehe
Just a question I know absolutely nothing about boats but I have seen boats moved on TV using giant airbags. Is that not an option ? Or not possible at all
I would have liked to hear what the village chief had to say. Something did not feel right about this whole mess. Nixon lived on it for yrs he probably has more right to it than anybody. That must have been hard for him as captain to lose passengers. I can't even imagine what he went through. Personally...I think the boat should be owned by the village. It does surprise me that the owners didn’t hire some big salvage company to come out to try to get the boat afloat sooner. I would assume after so may years it has just got more dug in. I understand the logistics would be very difficult because of the location. Of course, what the heck do i know about super yachts that weigh a gazillion tons😂 The extravagance of the super rich kind of makes me a 🤢
HAY BARRY WHATS A WOK ?? ITS wot ya throw at a WABBITT when ya haven't got a wiffle lol haaaaa Thankyou for addressing the Bayesian and yes your right ppl are throwing mud so thats why i was asking thx buddy you can roll it on lifting sausages iv seen a badge 4x that boat roll on the top of lifting sausages tell him to look at how they move the Metle irene gold bardge nome alaska they put it in and out each year ?
Bayesan story is worthy of a 007 movie. And that storm was a convenient excuse to ´clean up´. The daughter was an unfortunate and downright incredibly sad collateral damage.
People don't understand. Small boats are owned by people. Large boats are investments and liabilities. It is all a joke with lawyers occupying time and space. The wealthiest people I know never spend any money, will never pay for a meal, and carry no cash, but they keep lawyers on retainer and they always win
Sorry but I’d need proof more than someone just saying I own the vessel now. As per maritime law, who ever salvages it is the ‘salvor’ and are entitled to a monetary reward and the vessel must be returned to the original and rightful owner or unless that original owner has abandoned their claim to the vessel or can’t pay the salvage award.
As if Derek owns that boat! Far too defensive and weird about it, dodgy. What would he have done if you'd gone on there?! Not alot! Bark worse than his bite I imagine.
I pulled my boat off the beach after hurricane Irma. I could walk around the boat at low tide with out getting my feet wet but it was very easy. Took about 15min to pull it off the beach.
From a completely un nautically educated point of view, i would box the boat in, yes, i know, itts a big box, if it floats in situ you can think about moving it.

Determination is one thing. Arrogance is another.
Thanks for sharing.
Colin is such a class act.
Loved the story of the ship reck Blue Gold looking forward to the salvage refloating story
Wow. Very interesting story! Thanks!
Well put together team!
Shame to see such a boat parked up like that to maybe not ever float again.
Great episode, thank you, Colin...... I never miss an episode. It's a great adventure. Bob N
Great episode guys! I’ve seen the boat on other videos but never got the details until now.
That was amazing to watch. Such an interesting story!
Another amazing episode!!
As someone who dealt with bullshit and bullshit artists as a cop for two decades, i got the impression you where knee deep in both.
Correct
Doesn't take 2 decades of being a cop to see right through that guy's bs though. It was pretty obvious he's not the legitimate owner
Thank you you guys give hope
The body language of that man claiming to be the owner is just not right. Something funny going on.
Seen plenty of westerners in community's assume roles, Dreamer, taking advantage of the situation.
@@freechagosislandjohnpilger He's not the legal owner. Check the papers!
He doesn’t quite look like a guy who’s gonna spend a million bucks to bring the boat back does he😂
@@donaldvanvliet9039 nope
He looks dodgy indeed ………I wouldn’t trust this derek guy with a spoon ! 😊😊😊😊😊
As always another great video. Looking forward to the next.
I remember hearing of that cyclone happening while I was in Korea. I never thought that ship would end up on the reef
That man means business 💰💰💰
Your videos are a true source of inspiration and wisdom. Thank you for your creativity and dedication!🛼🎣🗽
WOW!!! Thank You!!!!

sad to see the boat like that , but least its not under the water i guess .but thats not going anywhere for a long time
Fascinating stuff. Even if they get it off, I can’t imagine the cost of the refit.
He should watch "The Burden of Dreams". Werner Herzog have some experience moving boats over mountains.
Hello from Siesta Key Florida
Great video.
I need to see that boat move and float.
Wel i realy Hoped it was going to end this Vlog with The Super Yacht being Saved as you say a real Shame Thanks Great Vlog mate
Should gave told that Derek where to go, and try n stop you😊
that's one for Jamie
The "million bucks" he wants to spent may gets him of the reef and to New Zealand but will by no means restore the boat.

Continue to delight us with your unique ideas. Your videos are a true inspiration.🐬🏎🔞
I love watching you guys
That's tough. I feel for Nixon. 😞
No sympathy for the jerk claiming to be the owner, though.
great episode
Would be amazing/crazy if you could take on this super yacht as a project 😁🤣

Trying to dig it out with buckets doesn't sound like the approach anyone with financial resources would take.

360 tons ?? i doubt a strap or airbag would handle that weight , but maybe keep digging first another 3 meters under it first
.. I have some questions lol - that guy did definitely not react the way a legitimate owner would, scammer
Yes
Count me in, great project mate, when you going to start salvage?
@1:54 I tried one once but it was a bit too hoppy for my taste... ;)
Thank you for your hard work and creativity. Your videos are like little works of art.🤹👍🧉

Parlay 2.0! I’m a mechanical engineer and I’m ready to help make it happen!
Hope you end up with her. Would be sick.. 🤙
I think everyone that has seen this yacht has had the idea of salvaging it, I know I did as soon as I first saw it.
Somebody call Captain Jack Sparrow. 🏴☠️

Yeah, she's a long way from floating again.

A 500 or 750 CAT excavator would get it out in a few minutes.

That guy does not own that boat . He’s full of crap
Mate that sinking of that ship was a cover up ! The owner was destined to hit the bottom of the ocean ....

👍

Well actually its my boat.
Ha! Talk about CONTENT! That would be years of content!
