i just wonder if there is no way to get the water out, how to get the water in at the first place? very weird. hahaha. I have to agree 7.5kg is a bit heavy for this price range.
haha this is so true🤣 I rode my superteam rim brake clincher 50mm with internal nipple wheels for 2 years alr. Whenever I wash bike or ride in the rain, the water gets in from the valve hole and nipple area and there's no way to get the water out once its trapped inside the rim, I was surprised to see water coming out after months of not riding because the water cannot evaporate. So whenever water gets in I have to take out tyre to drain water. I got other bikes to ride so this is not a big problem but its kinda annoying when the wheel is unbalanced and the water comes out smelling bad😅
The tubes you are using, does it have a nut on it to lock the valve them in place? Thinking if it does not and you use the same tube on your other wheel, water will also get in. I have seen some options online to properly seal the valve them
look frames depriciating?? that would be a first their frame quality is better or at least equal to specialized. Yes, specialized is more known so more people want the name on their downtube. if I could choose between this bike and a sl8, I would pick this bike everyday.
Hi OL. Good rant on the bike a/o reviews on the wheels! I guess if the wheels are not meant for clincher, then Superteam should at least put some warning. OTOH, if they are, then it must be design flaw (?) and/or QC (?). Don't worry about the Look bike. It is very nice with superb build. Don't get trapped into herd mentality commonly found nowadays. Aren't you tired of wearing 'uniform' during your childhood? 😀😀
why make it complicated. just use hand pump and use the needle attachment you got from your floor pump. here the way to clear out the water. put the wheel on the side give a bit angle so the water will going on one side, the hole on the wheel are same size as your needle attachment usually came with the pump it use for pumping the basket ball, use that needle blow it from the top the water will drain very fast as you pumping air inside the wheel the water will drain on the other hole of your wheel. the problem for this wheel why it not dry well it because the hole are to small, if you have other carbon wheel you will notice the super team drain hole are to small. i suspect it because the paint they use. if the hole bigger the water should splash naturally when we spin it. i have other wheel like farsports. they made really well i never have problem like superteam because they made the hole way better.
Bro they send you to review the wheel, not the whole bike lmao. It feels like you didnt do much homework on the wheel, and all you mentioned was for the price, its very light weight, you cycled 500kms on it, water gets trapped, and you wont be using it anymore. That is not much work being done on your side. I mean you can do what you want to do with your channel, but this is just my ten cents.
Very good comment. I conveyed your comment to Mr Oompa Loompa and this is what he said "My wish lor, my channel, my bike, my sponsor, you huan lo and fly kite" If you got any message for me to convay to him feel free to inform me!
You are obviously dishing out a revenge on the company because they demanded you to do a more comprehensive n timely review a while ago, personally I do not ride superteam wheels, but dube, I honestly think when you have the advantage getting free stuffs, at least do your job in a timely and responsible manner. Regarding water get trapped after riding prolongedly in a downpour~drain hole is by no means able to drain water in wet, you need to ride or spin the wheels in a dry environment to let the water out, alternatively you can use a wet vacuum to suck the water out afterwards. I honestly think company should stop sending you stuffs to review, as obviously you are taking the matter personally and back stabbing your sponsor on this one. No sponsor deserves this kind of questionable accusation and lazy review (5 mins coverage in a combined review? Seriously?) after sending out a $1000 plus free product....water trapped in the wheels? Jezz how long have you been cycling? You should know better how to avoid water getting in from valve / spoke holes or clean up after a downpour, so cut the crap acting. You are wearing mask but do you ever blush? You are back stabbing your sponsor and yet still asking for more paterons?
you sound like a superteam shill. If you or superteam actually watch the channel, you would understand that this is not a place where poeple come for technical information. Its very lighthearted, not too indepth types of conversations. There are many more youtubers that actually have the technical knowledge to review these types of wheels. I would never come to this channel to expect a thorough in-depth review. Now if he and superteam agreed to some sort of 10-20 min technical review that is a different story. You obviously do not know how sponsorship work, and judging from your comment which uses very childish words like "revenge", it is also obvious that you are fairly immature and if you are indeed a shill (most likely you are) then being immature means you cannot accept criticism. Just because he is "sponsored" dosent mean he is under any obligation to lie to his viewers and not state his honest opinion. Just because superteam sent him a cheap wheel for free, dosent mean he is under any obligation to hype it more than what its worth. He is also not obligated to make one full video of the product. The fact that he even gave 5 minutes to cover this piece of trash wheel i feel is an overkill. From the amount of views that this channel is getting from local cyclist, i think the cheap OEM price of this wheel only deserve 5 minutes. Nothing personal, its just business. That’s a pity, 1.2 kg only to be self sabotaged by a hole designed into the rim. For owners, I dare say it’s an easy fix with a dot of superglue, but, does seem a bone idea to ‘reinvent the wheel’, adding an unnecessary feature that compromises the performance of an otherwise well executed product.
You are screwed if you really block the drain hole, water gets in from valve holes or spoke holes inevitably in a downpour, what riders need to do is to avoid riding in a downpour or waterproof the valve hole with sticker pad, water repellent grease/spray around the spoke holes beforehand, or like the 99% of us simply dry spin the wheel afterwards. The drain hole is necessary, just use it in the right way n with correct expectation.
