Solomon and Rehoboam keep predict their own ending...not humanity. Serac refuses to believe his creation is The Problem, so he interprets the drop off to mean the end of us.....instead I believe it's the enf of A.I. controlled societies. ..

How's this for a therory? Demolition Man homage... Mave will be the one to kill Serac. Her script is very similar to Wesley Snipes roll in Demolition Man. She will meet up with her team and Serac. Who in his hast did not put the same defence / safety mechanism in her team. She will smile at Serac and say I'd love to kill you He will retort with "But you Can't" then she'll turn and say but they can as the run him throgh with their kantanas or just shot him. Thus protecting her daughter's world.

I'd like to get a handle on what can kill these robuts.
Bullets: sometimes you're incapacitated, sometimes your jacket is just a little disheveled
Swords: yes and no, depends on what the script says
Explosions: no, apparently not somehow
Robert, what's going on?
It depends on the amount of damage and where that damage is done to. Most of the body and limbs in not vital to life, but may be vital for certain motor functions.
I’m under the impression that as long as the pearl is in tact, they can be brought back to life. Back in the park when they’d get shot or stabbed and bleed out they’d “die”.
It may also depend on version of the host body. Printers from Arnolds house seems to be older then version of the Westworld park. It was improved to be more human-like as well as cheaper (maybe faster? Charlotte Hale was replaced quite soon). The newer version depends on blood-like liquid. Remember how Man in black did a blood transfusion to Teddy in season 1? However, a blood transfusion make Dolores back in episode 3.
Makes no sense to me I hope they explain some of it.
I think a lot of it has to do with plot armour.

Not all of Caleb's military memories are false. Everything up to the point where his unit gets hit by a rod from God was real. He was discharged after that, then the App work started.

William, who faced his demons, and now sees himself as the hero has a plan to save the world! Kill all the hosts. Yeah, no. That is part of the problem and his redemption is only in his own mind.

Lord Mon I still think he’s doomed either way. The guy doesn’t deserve redemption, and the season 2 post credits scene shows him in the far future trapped in a loop as a host. This is my favorite series but there’s a few things I wish had been done differently. Mainly I think William should have died in S2
young William was a fantasist, has the new man in white really changed ? probably not that much.
I'd certainly say killing your own daughter was a far more indelible, haunting sin than having helped make hosts. he's still off his rocker.
The natural decision would be to be a hero and help the hosts and humans SHARE the world. I think they are having William decide to kill all the hosts to get another season out of this OR he is a host and doesn't know it.
I am still confused on the Liam Dempsey connection to Caleb. I get that Liam sees Caleb's true profile, but why would it horrify him so, and why would he make such a big deal about Caleb killing Francis? It's clear that Caleb is far from unique in that other outliers do personals and wet work, and Francis doesn't seem especially significant, especially to a man like Dempsey. Yet Dempsey calls Caleb "the worst".
I asked the same question earlier.. the answer I received is that LDJ may have seen that Caleb becomes the "leader of the resistance." Bernard told us that he may be responsible for destroying humanity.

Season 2 ending trailer seems very important now. The one where William goes down the elevator. The hosts now have the inner workings of how an outlier thinks. That’s probably why he is being tested.
Leopold Espinoza didn’t the creators say that ending is now irrelevant. They ditched that story line.

When Delores reached the EMP she looks up at Solomon. The camera shows the big A.I. ball and her eyes flutter as if she downloads something or receives something. Then she turns to maeve and hits the switch. Whats up with that?
Also did that EMP just kill all those frozen outliers?
Serac most likely made sure that a backup generator of some kind made sure they wouldn't die, in the case that he had to deploy the emergency EMP. It was meant to stop Solomon, but he doesn't want to kill hiss brother

Regarding Cerac no longer being the man he used to be, my prediction is that he used Rehoboam to see the future and saw that somehow all outcomes led to his death at some point before the series starts. The episode where he is narrating his life story he is speaking to Rehoboam, and the Cerac that we see during the series is a perfect replication of his consciousness projected by the machine. The fact that we only ever see Cerac as either a hologram or in his weird flying office seems to imply this as well. My only reason to doubt this is its all a bit on the nose and Westworld does love to throw a weird sideways twist in.
He was also in physical form when he first met Maeve at his house.
Small note: William & Caleb's ID numbers aren't actually the same. Caleb's has an I instead of a 1 in the middle of it. Weird to make them so similar though. Very good vid

I'm wondering about the part where you say (at around the 7:50 mark) that all of Caleb's past as part of a special ops soldier was fabricated. In the episode, Solomon says that Caleb and Francis were both honorably discharged after the incident where he received that head injury. What I think was changed were the circumstances surrounding Francis's death: they reprogrammed him to believe that they remained in the service after the bombing incident, then kidnapped the "Terrorist leader", and Francis lost his life (note it's also implied that they did erase/alter memories of him doing those RICO jobs rounding up other outliers). But I interpreted it as them legitimately being in Crimea during the Russian Civil War
Im concerned that nothing we saw was a simulation, which makes me think it was all a simulation.
I'm curious about Liam Dempsey, jr.'s reaction, when he sees Caleb through the glasses in the tunnel. I understand when he says, essentially, "you don't know who you are," and something like, "you're the worst of them."
What I don't understand is why Liam seemed terrified of him. What immediate threat was posed by Caleb that made him immediately back away in fear?
i think is because bernard said that caleb would be the one to destroy mankind. so maybe he read "leader of resistence" , or "mass killer", something of the sort.
Not enough that he was a full time criminal killer, albeit unknown to himself? If I was a pampered, rich tech genius' son I might be pretty scared of the "bad man who go bang bang ya deady dead."
Though I admit, I too thought LDJ's reaction suggested more.

The schizophrenia comment was analogous, Solomon ran so many different potential futures and mirror worlds that it was too much, this AI became like a Mad God.

I don't see any mention of Serac's hair colour changing at various points in the episode - brown to grey, different time lines.

A level and enjoyable review as usual. There are many layers to the narrative I can't wait to see play out next week, with those involving caleb, maeve, and serac at the top of my list.
I think this whole Delores vs team Maeve is lame. Why would Maeve work the most evil man in the world? Delores is the only one who knows where’s Maeve’s make believe daughter is.
Serac is trying to save the human race. Sure his methods are ruthless but his objective certainly isn't evil, in fact, most people would say that trying to save the human race is a good thing. Compare that to what Delores is trying to do.
Dolores killed her man.
Are we watching the same show? Maeve has no choice. Serac literally controls where she is and if she has a physical body. Did you not hear him say he’d put her into a simulated hell? Cmon dude use your brain. She is waiting for her moment.

And that may truly be the goal at the beginning, but controlling all of humanity to the point where they're not living with free will isn't the right thing. All the way down to deciding their suicide. He's evil but hides behind his "cause" as justification for power and control.

Dude, we are gonna find out that the Dolores we have been watching ISNT actually the main Dolores....she expects to die,and every time someone mentions the copies she made and sent out to die, she rolls her eyes or something akin to that. Maybe? Yes? No?
That thought has crossed my minde yes. Maybe the last Dolores (presumebly in Berlin), is the real Dolores-prime 1. And all we have seen is the second, Dolores-prime 2.

I love how Nolan made WW season 3 a sort of extension of person of interest. Like the same concept from a different angle. Rhehoboam and Solomon are a lot like the machine and Samaritan.
I know a lot of people dislike the simulation theory but I’m convinced that’s at least some of what we’re seeing is being simulated.. considering we were in the year 2052 at the end of season 2 and now all of a sudden it’s 2058, I think that’s our biggesr hint that we’re seeing events from the past that are being simulated in the future while simultaneously being shown those past events in the way they actually happened.. the simulation of the past can be happening for many diff reasons but I think it’s pretty clear that some of what we’re seeing is being simulated most likely in a future timeline
It HAS to be that, otherwise some of what we've seen, makes ZERO sense! 🤷🏻♀️😩 And I don't mean season 2 confusion either! I mean... scenes completely out of order, or changed & then repeated, etc.
Charlotte is wearing the same outfit in episode 1 as she was in episode 6, but 2 totally different events happened that (same?) morning, so again... it doesn't make sense! 🥴🤖 LMAOO

For many Westworld is there first experience with real Science Fiction.....not space opera like Star Wars.
An AI like Solomon would be a neural net of Quantum Computers. It would exploit the aspects Many Worlds in which there is one wave function that expresses every outcome possible. Decoherence is how we have no access to these other universes. We stay on one endlessly splitting branch and see only a single outcome.
Solomon or Rehoboam would have access to every universe via the deterministic aspect of the Many Worlds Interpretation. If an AI had collected all the data from humanity as well as the Delos park data it would run simulations.
The problem is most people who don't spend time reading SF or studying science get things mixed up.
A simulation like the one we would be tricked into believing is real is an Ancestor Simulation thing proposed by Nick Bostrom. Think of it like a video game.
But remeber all those projections about the spread of Covid? Many articles correctly identified these were simulations.....advanced projections using algorithms.
Solomon didnt even consider Dolores one of it's own kind. Any simulation ran by an advanced AI would be incomprehensible to a human or even host mind. It would not feel the need to create a narrative or even waste resources with visual elements.
It would run millions of simulations perhaps trillions studying the ever splitting multiverse from any data point it wanted to observe.
It would not build a virtual world like a video game for a host mind to infiltrate.
This reddit theory will not die even though we just watched the penultimate episode. But remeber last year? All the Beach Bernard theories?
Such will be Mirrorworld.

I think the whole 2052 thing is a red herring. Reddit came up with that date by using ARG data that wasn't part of the show. So far the only in-show confirmation of a date is 2058, and the Westworld time has been worked backwards from that. I know that there are some fan website still showing 2052, but those are older and haven't been updated recently.
This episode reminds me of Nolan's previous work, Person of Interest. Not only because he brought an actor from there, but because the 2 AI's and Solomon's question about reality.
I agree Robert. There is something inconsistencies when it comes to Musashi and Maeve or her allies interactions. Still haven't seen how she went from being a Pearl pluged into the mirror world to being in a host body in Singapore or was it Shanghai with Serac. The only things we're shown are Bernard and Stubs discovery of her host body absent her Pearl and then seeing her escaping an Incite main frame via the aid of a robot she commandeered. The next thing you know she is in a tropic garden being introduced to Serac. Who at that point did not have access to host printing and didn't have it until his take over of Delos. So there is some plot holes or a part of the story line we haven't seen. Be it a time skip or virtual simulation. Has me scratching my head, something is missing. Anyway enjoyed your blog and maybe episode 8 has some explanations. Really enjoying this Season of Westworld. Maybe some of the best Scifi I have ever seen or read. Just wondering if any one will do I.A.'s Foundations Trilogy. Have a good one!
I'm not sure what the point of keeping all those outliers in the fridge was. It's an expensive endeavor, podding up a few hundred/thousand/whatever dodgy lads and lasses and keeping them on ice. Dumping in them in a big furnace would be much cheaper.
So what is Uncle Engerraund getting out of their continued existence after they've failed to be all they can be?
I think Serac had a plan for them and that involved the data from Delos and the park.
I think that Engerraund thinks that he is trying to save the world AND to reform the outliers so that they can be 'smooth' enough to be a part of it.
Are they in cold storage or are their minds participating in simulations that Engerraund believes, somewhat hopelessly, may eventually reform these outliers (so that, at one time, Engerraund could sleep at night, convinced that his continued efforts to reform outliers are pure)? And, while not Engerraund's plan, might the 'cold storage' outliers ultimately have a relationship to the hosts in the Valley Beyond?
Maybe he had hope that one day the simulation and control of the world could be perfected at such degree that even the outliers could be returned to the world, or maybe the "reeducation" techniques having a breakthrough, or maybe he thinks that killing all of them would be too evil
Do we think turning the power off will "defrost" them and now Caleb will lead an outlier army?
i wonder what was gonna say solomon before he was deactivated. also, least valuable player is maeves sword! it only kept her behind the fight.
That warning from Solomon implies that the plan has a big weakness, if you are rooting for humanity (and believe what Bernard said) there's hope that it will fail (and it would be Dolores fault for triggering the EMP, poetic)

Maeve is so disappointing this season. I really don't buy her motivations as they have been presented to the audience.
I agree. She has no character development.
not only that... I've noticed IQ regress each episode... For example in this episode she just allowed Dolores to reach the IMP without any clue that Dolores is up to something, which was clear as summer sky... Dolores is also problematic for me in this season, it's like screen whriters just couldn't figure her true intentions. And what's all that nonsense with Caleb? Dolores couldn't possibly predict he will help her when she was wounded...
Agree. She's really annoying and one note (Thandie Newton isn't known here in the UK for her acting abilities or range), her motivations make no sense and they could easily dispense with her character at no cost to the wider narrative. The humanity vs AI/hosts is perfectly catered for in the much more compelling and believable Dolores vs Serac storyline. And Bernard is also sketchily drawn - I don't see why D brought him back except to give Jeffrey Wright something to do, while his scenes with Stubbs (another one-dimensional and annoying character) are dull.
It seem to me like Solomon was not aware of were and when it was, it appears it is lost in his many Simulations, maybe that's why Dolores say that about it.

Maybe Solomon question the nature of its reality
Time isn't a concept Solomon knows. He constantly computes all of them, to the point that he's everywhere. There's no way for him to know what's real or just a simulation, because to him, reality is the simulation that happened to come true. He saw the entire timeline when was created. He's in a way, a fifth dimensional being that transcends the concept of time.

I think that ALL of the Dolores-Hosts (at least the ones we have seen so far) intended to sacrifice themselves, including the one you call Dolores-prime. Perhaps the fifth copy of Dolores is the 'old-fashioned' Host-frame that we have seen in the trailers.

The hologram of serac could be a call-forward from a future season , something that doesn't make sense now but will be a now it makes sense moment later.

Robert do you think it would be interesting to do a podcast on the parallels between Ford/Arnold and the Serac brothers? I started watching season 1 again to see what I missed since I know more now. While watching Ford describe his relationship with Arnold I swear I heard a dinging sound over my head.
OBSERVATION>>> Body of brother is in a machine like the Host... Caleb is still a version of his brother in host/human hybrid form. Thus reason the computer identified him...
First Outlier he found was his brother...
Zurok is probably in a stasis coffin and attached to Hobola thing and has a host/human hybrid body as well.
He touches and picks things up....
One peculiar aspect of episode 7 was Stubb's animosity towards MIB. Just seemed random, though entertaining. Hale's motivation to hurt Delores instead of Serac is another oddity. The impression I'm getting is that the show has a massive number of open branches with almost every element. The main story is becoming a glacial secondary over these quick gratification story twists. Penultimate episode; no revolt, and a very convoluted assembly of protagonists. The lack of a human Ford type character has impacted the continuity and pace that we had in season 1. I love the show, but it's becoming like a sociology/science tech what if. The Westworld producers need to check the divergences within their story arcs.
Shahed Miah also tickled me how MIB knows who the hell Bernard is as he only met him for about 2 mins outside the Forge and thought he was Arnold. Hmmmmmm

Solomon is my favourite character already.
Although the analogy is far from perfect, did anyone else think of a Matrix resemblance? That is, Neo as an anomaly shows resemblance to the 'outliers' in this universe.
Just realized something. In years past, not only with this show but with GOT...some moron (on reddit) would have gotten the script for future episodes and leaked them. So that all these analysis vids were kind of polluted from the get go.
But this season, with this show...all you see is speculation that ...doesn't come to pass.

There are youtubers who have outright said their predictions falling flat has painted their view of certain episodes/the season. That is hilarious.
Whatever happens in the season finale, we know that there will be a Season 4. I just hope we don't have to wait 2 years to see it!
Except for one thing...
I think that the time periods have been changing back and forth during the entire season. They just aren't making it as obvious as in Season 2. None of this season seems to have any correlation with the last scene in the final episode of Season 2 (William and his daughter). I also think that there is something about Serac that we haven't been shown.

Just like I'm sticking to the theory that Serac is THE bad guy and what an amazing villain he is!
Dolores is not such a mystery and we get a confirmation of that as well, through Bernard telling Stubbs she's got a romantic core.
One last thing worth noting: not all of Caleb's military memories are false. He and Francis really were in a special operations unit, in Crimea during the Russian civil war and everything up until the incident with the Russians killing most of Caleb's unit, is real.

Serac is such an enigmatic character. Is he actually human or a human representation of Rehoboam. Have we ever even seen him as a corporeal manifestation? He seems to be able to hologram out whenever he needs to. Is that due to the whole season being in a simulation or his lack of physicality? His cryptic statement about not being the man he once was just adds to the mystery I think. Will the endgame be Rehoboam vs. Solomon, brother against brother leading the two sides? Every episode when some questions get answered more (and more complex ones) present themselves. I'm really enjoying this season. Thanks for today's video Robert. Pretty sure Solomon was fried by the EMP that was there with the purpose of doing exactly that.
Of course the pendrive with Solomon's plan will have survived because thst usb stick has plot armor
So I guess cal was caught by the shadow government after killing Francis and then reeducated to forget his whole discharge and what happened after. But then does that mean he was never reeducated after being released from the army in the first place? I just sorta thought he was since Solomon said that they "invested highly" in his training of hunting down outliers. I guess that just means he was always hunting outliers even when he was in the army and the investment was his initial training there.
Makes me wonder though why they even bothered keeping him around and trying reeducation RIGHT after they put a hit out on him for being an outlier himself and finding out too much from his captive. Just kill him at that point right? He's no longer apart of their plan since they predict suicide in ten years anyway. He's just taking up even more expensive resources for no reason at all. And he clearly was a threat after all. Just kinda makes no sense if you think about the reasoning behind seracs whole "population on ice" deal.

I have a question about timing: Dolores says Sonoma was the inspiration for WW which was built 40 years ago.
Then she says that Serac put his brother in Sonoma 15 years ago.
We know that Serac bought information from Ford when the park was just opening but it seems like there was an even earlier connection and that is why WW is based on a area developed by Insight.
I still hold on to my theory that this is a Matrix re-do. The Oracle vs The Architect = Ford vs Serac = The Forge vs Rehoboam

Halores telling Musashi she's "streamlining the plan" gave me an idea. My guess is Dolores Primes' plan was to give humanity a choice--free humanity from Rehoboam, then letting time decide if humanity can choose to not destroy itself and for Bernarnold to use the Delos info to rebuild/remember/recreate the lost hosts in the distant future. IF this was her plan, Halores' statement seems to mean "instead of sacrificing us hosts/Dolores copies to give humanity a choice, I'm just going to wipe everyone out" which would be an understandable reaction after seeing her adopted family murdered.

I don't understand all the confusion over Mauve's motivations. Mauve is a selfish character, that only cares about herself. That had always been the case. She "awoken" Hector and Armistice only to use them in helping her escape the park. She always planned to leave them behind. She only felt sympathy for the geisha because she was another version of Mauve herself. Mauve wanted to find her "daughter" because in Mauve's narcissistic mind, the little girl belongs to her. Whether she remembers Mauve or love her "new" mom are irrelevant to Mauve. Mauve distrusts Deloris because Mauve distrusts everyone. She can't fathom someone going out of their way to sacrifice of themselves for others. Serac knows all of this, so a slight threat to Mauve's own safety combined with the promise of giving Mauve the things she selfishly wants (her daughter) is all it takes for Mauve to turn a blind eye to the rest of her kind being eradicated. I doubt that Hanaryo or Clementine will ok with this down the line

I think the biggest reveal this week was that everybody's "simulation" theories were most likely wrong.
UM.... were they? 🤷🏻♀️😒 There's still way too many inconsistencies bro. Like Charlotte wearing the same outfit in episode 1 as she did in episode 6, and yet, the events on that (same?) morning happened totally different. Something is going on. There's been way, way too many clues to there being a simulation happening.
@@KabbalahSherry There are things I can't explain... but Charlotte Hale wearing the same outfit twice is not one of them. Simulation theories have been around since season one but I'm just not seeing any _really_ good evidence.
My point is: if it were a season three thing, with Rehoboam simulating outcomes, then the writers would have probably played their hand this week. The audience will need a week to process what they've seen thus far.
Everything I have come up with yet (except the anagram theory for Serac and there's still time) has been wrong.
Anagram is Arranged Censure (Engerraund Serac) btw, still likely wrong but not disproved yet.
At S3E7 45:40. Do you think there may be more to what Solomon said to Caleb when Caleb asked if Francis was there? Solomon says, "No. That is not the variation we are on." I keep wondering if it is more than one of various simulations. It almost feels like time travel or alternate universes. I wonder if the layering of Rehoboam's 'divergence rings' are symbolic of that. No wonder Jean Mi and Solomon are having mental issues.
Interesting use of Enrico Colantoni as a captured character as he served a similar purpose in person of interest which has a rather similar plot line, AI's using human agents to shape the world.

Seems a bit convenient how Dolores and Caleb originally hooked up, seeing how Caleb was unknowingly already intricately to the plot. Did Serac hook them up originally, or was it pure chance?

It's strange that William thinks his biggest mistake is creating hosts who really aren't a existential threat, however, the data that he sold to Serac essentially helped Rehoboam program humanity much like the hosts are programed.

You should rewatch season 3 trailers. Most scenes were taken from last 2 episodes so it looks like we are near the breakpoint. The last scene in the newest season trailer gives us hope that Dolores and Maeve will cross theirs paths again

it's quite possible that Delores Prime isn't Delores Prime but another expendable and Berlin is where the shots are being called from.
the finale trailer makes it look like Serac gets his data and Rehoboam isn't going to be a 1 season antagonist.
Solomon going all Bond villain and spilling it's secrets made me chuckle, not the best bit of writing perhaps
another thought, so far Delores has been out thinking Rehoboam the machine designed to do nothing but think about things. we discover that Rico is part of the plan but Rehoboam doesn't seem to have looked at the uses a weapon like the one they acquired could serve ? it should know the tail number of the plane they boarded and where it ended up because Serac spoke to Delores there. Rehoboam's skills are overrated so far.
Anything is possible in this silly show. Looking for deeper meaning is a useless exercise
But why was Liam so freaked out by Caleb if Caleb is just an outlier that used to detain other outliers?
The only problem I have about this episode (aside from Maeve being annoying) is that the EMP sets up Caleb to do something dumb. The smart play is to kill Maeve while she's out, but we know that won't happen. I love this show, though. Just a small nitpick.
How did biotracker in William lead them to Solomon?... But, when they arrive at Solomon site William, Stubb's, and Bernard seem to be in a different country? Maybe I missed something.

Or somehow they may eventually be connected to the hosts that survived in the Valley Beyond.
If they were being kept alive, we can assume the plan was to one day reanimate them.

Any device who had electricity running would get fried. That's the point of a EMP as weapon.
Maybe a simple incandescent lightbulb wouldn't burn... but any microchip would get fried instantaneously. And I think a life supporting system do make use of chips and not gears and valves.
