LeBron has the same move but instead of doing it with a crossover he does it while he's running at you full speed. He'll double jab with his left foot then go right. But this is while he's running full speed though.
@Stefan Kovacevic 😂 I was at the game vs the bucks. If I'm not mistaken, he got Giannis LEANINNNN. Didn't make the highlights bc he missed the 3 but boy that guy got shook
Everyone have a chance to watch our breakdown with Austin Rivers of the Pellies? Who's gonna get out there and try it? Austin Rivers One on One: Secrets To His Crossover
For sure. Step backs should be for 15 footers. At the NBA level, some guys could extend their range, but Curry is the only guy I'd feel comfortable with shooting step back 3's
Don't miss Austin Rivers of the New Orleans Pelicans breaking down a sick cross over with me. You'll want to learn this move ASAP! Austin Rivers One on One: Secrets To His Crossover
I like how you allude to asking him basically if he does the turn, sweep, and sway. And yes, he does all of these things without realizing it! I know you have teamed up with "Pro Shot Shooting System" on youtube and the things they teach have improved my shot consistency already
Haven't seen any comments about this, but if you think about it, this is actually a great iso move, gives so many options for the player on offence whether it's to drive, shoot or even pass
Love your videos! They have taught me a lot! I'm happy to see you have got a lot of attention with NBA players because you truly deserve it! I'd have to be a fan of any team in the NBA you coach if you do end up getting the job!
It should also be pointed out that when austin hesitates he also pivots that foot a bit so it opens outwards adding to the illusion that he is going in that direction.
Austin Rivers is in the fog, Landing in the same spot usually creates a brick. ever seen blake griffin shoot? it puts too much pressure on the shoulders. When he shot for real his feet easily landed way in front of where he was. This takes pressure of the shoulder and lets you shoot with further range. Austin Rivers is in the fog, He does this by second nature.
Austin is the mannnn though haha. I'm a celtics fan too so knowing he's the son of our former head coach was cool too. I still believe he will prove people wrong and be in the league for a long time. We can only watch and see now.
People here in the comments were clowning him because he got tongue tied when they shot this video, but it's been 5 years and I bet y'all still can't do this move.
Rivers doesn't jump straight up and land in the same place when he shoots (and neither should you). His feet go forward making his shoulders go back (although not in a fade away motion) creating more arc on his shot.
Coach Nick, I need some advice on which current NBA Team Playbook to use with my team. I've got C. Brad Daugherty PF. Horace Grant SF. John Havlicek SG. Kendall Gill PG. Pete Maravic with Ainge, Petrovic, Sam Perkins, CJ Watson and Gerald Green as 6th Man. Havlicek has a mean mid range, but I also bank on a Kendall Gill fast break. I rarely go to the post and my bench is a 3 point dynasty lol Love to hear your advice on which team's plays this would work best with Love the channel!
Hey Coach, what is your actual opinion on this ten degree foot placement ? because I consider myself a pretty good shooter, and I haven't ever been good at lining my toes up to the basket, also I even use the "Sway" since I'm 5'5" and a lot of my shots used to come up short. My head basketball coach is really big on shooting form, even cutting excellent shooters that have horrible form. Do you think me shooting the way I do would hurt my chances of making a highschool basketball team ?
good looking hesitation (to ideally gain separation) Austin but that step back is going to be contested and since most guys don't shoot as well as you, I believe the next lesson should be how to push off that same step back into a counter cross to drive to the basket.... Great video though!
hey coach, why dont you make a video where you choose your own fantasy nba team (players in each position who you believe they will have a very good season)
Please breakdown some Oscar Robertson game and explain how he was so great,it looks like he bassically used 3 moves whole career :D In my opinion best PG ever
I think having a slight drift inward toward the basket is good, because the shooter has the best angle and view of a missed shot. Austin has always chased his missed shots and tried to rebound them. Unfortunately, most players drift backward and have no chance of getting a miss back.
"Better shot at making a chance"
~Austin Rivers
+Brandon Owen +DaftHype
Did he really say this in this video? Or somewhere else?
Hahah thought i was the only that noticed
It's a pretty tough move to learn, because of the hesitation after the first cross, it's deadly when you learn it
Yes, devastating, but tough to learn.
got it
LeBron has the same move but instead of doing it with a crossover he does it while he's running at you full speed. He'll double jab with his left foot then go right. But this is while he's running full speed though.
He broke a lot of ankles in high school with that move.
still breaking ankles now
@Stefan Kovacevic He's actually playing great for the Rockets right now
@Stefan Kovacevic 😂 I was at the game vs the bucks. If I'm not mistaken, he got Giannis LEANINNNN. Didn't make the highlights bc he missed the 3 but boy that guy got shook
@Stefan Kovacevic hes averaging 15 ppg with the rockets lmao shut up
Yo go to 3:17 and wait a few seconds and look at the court to the left and you'll see that guy do that pump fake and that sweet ass hesitation
Ayee
That was him
"you have a better shot at making the chance"
Lmao
+Daft Hype Get your own comments you comment stealer
+Brandon Owen I'm not gonna argue about a comment
hahaha
Pretty exciting to see you talking to the players and getting some walkthroughs like these. The channel has come a long way!
Everyone have a chance to watch our breakdown with Austin Rivers of the Pellies? Who's gonna get out there and try it?
Austin Rivers One on One: Secrets To His Crossover
Ha, we'll he ain't a badger either,..
move is nice but i don't think as a coach i want Rivers to take step back threes... i want him to go to the rim.
For sure. Step backs should be for 15 footers. At the NBA level, some guys could extend their range, but Curry is the only guy I'd feel comfortable with shooting step back 3's
yeahhhhh curry
- We're not a channel, we're a conversation! You in?
- Yes Sir!
I loved that one!
The off-the-dribble, step-back, three-point, fadeaway bricked jump shot... yep classic Austin Rivers all right!
THx! Lots more coming up this week!
Don't miss Austin Rivers of the New Orleans Pelicans breaking down a sick cross over with me. You'll want to learn this move ASAP!

I love this movies
Awesome, thanks!
I like how you allude to asking him basically if he does the turn, sweep, and sway. And yes, he does all of these things without realizing it! I know you have teamed up with "Pro Shot Shooting System" on youtube and the things they teach have improved my shot consistency already
I've always loved his crossover, good vid Coach! Really appreciate it cause it'll help my game
These are actually really high quality videos, especially when he probes them for situations when they do their moves.
Thanks. He really understands the fundamentals, almost like he had a coach for a dad... lol
Yeah really fascinating
I didn't know Austin Rivers very well but he seems to be a very interesting person with good communication skills. Great job Coach!
What a great guy and a video, I hope he has a much better season
These one on one's are awesome coach. Please DO MORE OF THESE! SO EDUCATIONAL!
Great video, I shows how much detail there is on just one move, especially how important foot work is.
fantastic stuff, coach. content keeps getting better and better!
Coach, these one on one videos are great. If you can do more, please do!
Haven't seen any comments about this, but if you think about it, this is actually a great iso move, gives so many options for the player on offence whether it's to drive, shoot or even pass
It's pretty distracting where we were doing the interviews. I don't blame them. Had we done it in a quiet room, it'd be different.
omg these interviews are gold
he was very respectful to the coach i liked it
great job with the series im loving you right now
He looks like a very nice and bright guy, I'm gonna follow him more this year !
Loving the consistent videos! Great job!
Really enjoyed this particular break down, great simple yet effective move.
Coach doing big things here ... Love it !!!
Whoa!! Thumbs up for Austin Rivers :D
These videos are just getting better and better. How do you get these guys to be interviewed? Are they just so open to answering actual questions?
It's amazing how just a few months ago you were making breakdowns at your place in front of a green screen. Keep up the good work !
Love your videos! They have taught me a lot! I'm happy to see you have got a lot of attention with NBA players because you truly deserve it! I'd have to be a fan of any team in the NBA you coach if you do end up getting the job!
A step up in the production quality and giants like FOX and ESPN should be paying notice to you Coach Nick. Great work!
Real basketball talk. I'm a huge fan of your vids coach Nick. Thanks !
Will you do something during the european championship ?
It should also be pointed out that when austin hesitates he also pivots that foot a bit so it opens outwards adding to the illusion that he is going in that direction.
"better shot at making the chance" lol @3:26

Can't argue with that!
He still played for Duke D1 bball and is in the NBA and you haven't done shit basketball wise so please stfu
He is mentally in the fog but physically he sweeps and sways naturally lol.
Ray Allen lands in the same spot he took off. What do you say to that?
I LOVE IT! DO MORE PLEASE. Like that dude said, it's the new version of red roundball
with NBA players appearing on bballbreakdown, it won't be long before Coach Nick becomes an NBA coach. I can feel it!
We got more!
i learned something new today, thanks coach nick. this is some neat stuff!
Thank you for uploading videos
Coach Nick elevating his game. Nice!
Austin is the mannnn though haha. I'm a celtics fan too so knowing he's the son of our former head coach was cool too. I still believe he will prove people wrong and be in the league for a long time. We can only watch and see now.

Keep up the great job coach nick!
I did this move the other day and it worked really well.
Great vid. Great move. Much better than the up and under video.
These are some good videos, I learn a lot. Keep it up.
that is awesome, coach nick is moving on up
Great job. Looking forward to more.
Could you also do a video on the different ways to defend/fight screens? That would be great!!
That's a sweet move! Thanks for the video coach!
YES... We're getting into a gym to film these things ASAP

It's pretty beautiful to watch...

Hey Blake! How's it going?
Coach Nick, I need some advice on which current NBA Team Playbook to use with my team. I've got

SF. John Havlicek

Austin Rivers welcome to Houston you are going to do great!
Good to see him playing well !!
Wow, some quality content here coach!
Austin Rivers seems to be a cool guy and i think that he will have a much better season this year.
Hey coach, can you do a video explaining the terms you use such as pin down screens or flex motion
I'm glad I subscribed, I learn a lot from watchin your videos and commentary...By the way how tall are you Coach?...
Great vid coach. More vids like this from austin!
Absolutely. He still looks like he's 18
Now this is some great content.
What a kind player!
Great work Coach
Hey Coach, when are they going to have you in for a discussion across from Stephen A. and Sir. Bayless? That would be quite entertaining.
thanks coach and rivers!
Check out that move at 3:16 in the back left court. Wow. Impressive.
Hey Coach, what is your actual opinion on this ten degree foot placement ? because I consider myself a pretty good shooter, and I haven't ever been good at lining my toes up to the basket, also I even use the "Sway" since I'm 5'5" and a lot of my shots used to come up short. hes a terrible shooter in the nba setback says let him shoot
I agree
Oh ok i thought you were saying he was a good shooter when you said most people don't shoot as well as you
Yeah better than the average youngster on the street. Considering he's professional
Ohhh ok my b man lol yup ur right about that
Love these videos boss!
love this videos....thank u coach
Does he know about how good the sway is and the greats that use it?
hey coach, why dont you make a video where you choose your own fantasy nba team (players in each position who you believe they will have a very good season)
Great stuff coach!!
What happened to "the sway"? I thought that was vital for good shooting coach nick.
coach please make a video about andrea igoudalas effect on
GS Warroirs
THANK YOU COACH! Great Video!
Well hey, we're still doing that too!!
Are you guys at NEXT LEVEL? I play tourneys there every once in a while.
Tough move, love the coaching reaction like I'll never keep this kid in front of me.
Hey coach can you make a video about defending a 2-3 zone, and breaking down one?
Coach, just had a question. Austin seems to use his 'heel' to jab with. Is that normal?
Please breakdown some Oscar Robertson game and explain how he was so great,it looks like he bassically used 3 moves whole career :D In my opinion best PG ever
is there a playlist for all these fundamental/need to know bball moves?
Uhhh... First move was a step back, the counter to that move was a crossover. Its the same as faking post moves, have a couple of options to use.
Good work coach
I think having a slight drift inward toward the basket is good, because the shooter has the best angle and view of a missed shot. Austin has always chased his missed shots and tried to rebound them. Unfortunately, most players drift backward and have no chance of getting a miss back.
It's a habit from missing all the time
A step up in the production quality and the big
well done coach nick
post more videos like that!!!
Coach do you think J.J. Redick's shooting form is ideal?
Big step up in material this summer Coach, congrats. ESPN or NBATV need to throw some cash at you.
