Then he just easily blows by him. Look at the 3:26 mark. For a tiny fraction of a second, Crawford looks up at the rim and the defender run out. Crawford reads that. Crawford uses the hang dribble not just as a hesitation move but it gives him a tiny window of opportunity to read the defender's reaction. If the defender did not run out, I believe Crawford would have shot instead of drive.
I think he is so good because of the long strides and long arms.... he can whip the ball across with the long arms and he also dribbles a lot higher which throws the defender off
